I've done what I should have done a month ago.  I modified the old backup of the mac version to add the few features that are absolutely needed.  I am still working on updating the mac version and am getting close to completion, but unfortunately it is taking a long time due to work and also XCode and Objective C being a absolute pain in the ass, and I am getting extremely frustrated that I can't get a release out, and also that I don't have time to do streaming.

On the mac version, in addition to using the newer engine, I added the ability to hide the best splits column, current splits columns, and difference rows to make it fit better.  I also added the ability to hide the attempts counter, and made the positioning better.  None of these options are loaded from the ini file, so they have to be set each the time the program is loaded, but I might fix that in a future release (bug fixes or other requests) unless I get the real version done before that, which will have most of the improvements that the windows version has.

For the zip, I will now always include both mac and windows binaries so that it will be easier to find them.  Also, the other files are the same for both versions.
HELLO!
Thanks very much for this.  Just got it going here.

I'm still interested in trying to combine your core with what ewaller's built, though.  Having options.
Thanks for the update, looks great.  I noticed the Mac version includes the ini file now.  I attempted to increase the font size of the text but saw no result.  Is that known and just not implemented yet?

For the mac version, I have now enabled the ini file for ONLY the Top/Left position, and all of the items that are in the options menu.  The options are also saved when the program is closed.  I have yet to add the rest of customizations.
In order to use the ini file (for now), you must put at least the app and the ini file in a folder named "Time Split Tracker" which is put in the Applications folder. (/Applications/Time Split Tracker/)  When I figure out how to read the folder of the app where it is launched, then you will be able to put it anywhere, which is what I would prefer.

I do things a bit different (dynamic text fields) so I doubt they will be "compatible" in that sense, which is why I want to get as much done as possible.
Yo Dunnius, I'm having trouble opening the .ini file... and by that I mean I can't open it. I've tried what you've said but it seems I must still be doing something wrong Tongue

The ini file can be opened with any text editor program.

Update to the windows version only.

I added a menu option to toggle the race mode on/off in the timer mode.  Now the regular timer and the 2 person race modes can be switched without restarting the program.  I may add support for up to a 4 person race.

I also added a timer based alarm in the timer mode.  The alarm time can be set in the ini file or by double-clicking the timer.  If it is set to 0, the alarm is disabled.  The file for the alarm sound is set in the ini file.  If no file is specified, or it is invalid, it will instead play the system alert sound.  To acknowledge the timer, press any key.
I just got word that Mac versions are being made.  Thank you guys for doing that.  Dunnius, the app works great.  it only took a second to learn how to get it set up.  The one main thing I'm missing is how to resize it.  Right now it is quite small, and I feel it's something obvious that I am missing.

I cannot run OS 10.8 on this computer (it's too old), but I have another computer that I'll test the other program out on that will be in by the end of the month.
HELLO!
It's not that configurable on the Mac side yet Sad
I see.  Glad to know I wasn't being stupid and missing something obvious haha.  Thanks for the clarification and thanks again to the guys that are making these programs!
Does anyone know why when I click 'open splits' that nothing happens. Meaning I cant run my splits???

Using Time Split Tracker on a mac and I've got it to work before.
HELLO!
never seen that behavior.

Still waiting on the Price is Right feature... aka the option to play an arbitrary sound or (better) run an arbitrary command when resetting.

I have never had that happen, either.  The only thing I can think of is if the open dialog is opened behind another window, so it appears to be hidden.
HELLO!
I'd seen *that* happen in old versions but not the current.
When I try and open a text with TST like the sample or whatever it flashes on the application for a split second and then disappears, what the...

What version of OSX are you using?  I know it works fine on 10.6 and 10.7.
HELLO!
I'm using it regularly in 10.8.

I made a little ruby script to make .txt files for dunnius TST.
Its pretty self-explanatory, and you can have multiple comparisons using the TAB button.
this screenshot shows how i made a .txt that compares to 3 things...

http://lambdan.com/splits_maker.rb # feel free to read the code, its pretty well-commented and bad

Im currently working on making an online version of this (using ruby on rails). This will probably take a good while because i am not sure how to do a few things.
Actually, I wont do that. This script will do. Im sure dunnius has a better way planned/done already.

EDIT:
i just noticed, reading Xunkars blog (author of Llanfair) that he has released a jar for it. this means that it runs fine on osx.
http://xunkar.wordpress.com/2012/12/15/heads-up/
i will be using this from now on.
HELLO!
If by runs fine you mean crashes constantly, because it's not actually JVM code but has bundled system binaries in it, that are apparently highly buggy.

i dunno man, seems to work fine over here (osx 10.8.2), java version 1.6.0_37.
Llanfair .jar is definitely the way to go for Mac users.

HELLO!
If it doesn't crash all the time for you, great. It crashed all the time for me.

Llanfair seems like a great idea.  it looks good, but I'm with presjpolk, it is constantly crashing.

EDIT: the creator of Llanfair was not aware of the issue, but seems to know the problem now.  I sent him some information about the errors so hopefully we'll have a non-crashing version.
HELLO!
I just want to say I'm not trying to be a jerk about it. I apologize if I've come off more harshly than I intended about Llanfair. I was hopeful about the program after all!
presjpolk and anyone having problems with Llanfair, he fixed the issue and emailed me the link and I've been authorized to share it
