Charity
National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) - Provides support, education and research for people and their families living with mental illness through various public education and awareness activities.  Donations will be split between the Utah and US National NAMI organizations, and focus on general programs benefiting teens and young adults.

Viewer response to the cause of mental health awareness/support was overwhelmingly positive during RPGLB 2015, so we've decided to partner with NAMI again for RPGLB 2016.  Charity selection is something we will continue to re-evaluate on an annual basis, based on viewer/community feedback.

Venue
With how great the community support was for RPGLB 2015 and how much interest I've heard in the next one, it's been clear from day 1 that we need a larger venue than a house to comfortably fit more attendees & visitors.  RPGLB Staff has done a venue search with NAMI's assistance, and we've settled on the University Guest House hotel, on the campus of the University of Utah in downtown Salt Lake City (http://www.universityguesthouse.com/University-Guest-House-Listing).  The hotel has free parking, and can be reached by light rail train from the SLC airport.

We will have two 720 square foot conference rooms for the event, one of which will be the marathon streaming room and the other will be for practice/hanging out.  Based on the amount of conference room space we’ll have, we’re going to cap attendance at 100 people.  If we end up hitting the cap, we’ll see if there’s any options to add more space - otherwise we’ll definitely pursue a bigger venue for RPGLB 2017.  The hotel has a free hot breakfast in the morning and free coffee & tea available 24/7, and we are aiming to have dinner provided daily during the 5/9-5/14 marathon dates.  In addition, there is a 24/7 convenience store within walking distance, along with some on-campus cafeterias.  Downtown SLC also has many other restaurant options that can be reached via hotel shuttle, light rail, or carpooling.

Hotel Reservation Info
University Guest House & Conference Center
110 South Fort Douglas Blvd.
Salt Lake City, UT 84113
1-888-416-4075 (toll-free) or 801-587-1000

Directions: http://www.universityguesthouse.com/Location-Transportation

Alernative Hotel:
Salt Lake City Marriott University Park
480 Wakara Way
Salt Lake City, UT 84108
(801) 581-1000
http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/slcup-salt-lake-city-marriott-university-park/

For people flying in, we highly recommend taking the TRAX light rail as that's only $2.50 each way (take Green Line from airport to Court House stop, transfer to Red Line, take Red Line to Fort Douglas stop).  Trains run every 15 minutes between roughly 6AM-11PM MST, and the full schedule can be found at http://www.rideuta.com/uploads/route703dec2015sch.pdf.

Hotel rooms at the University Guest House (before taxes) are $109/night for 1-2 people and $119/night for 3-4 people (so a 4-person room would be approximately $30-35 per person per night if split evenly).  Rooms at the Marriott are approximately $175/night for 1-4 people.  Roommate arrangements can be made via the RPGLB 2016 attendees thread, once opened.

Room reservations at the University Guest House can be made by phone (the hotel unfortunately does not offer online reservations), at 1-888-416-4075, and need to be made by April 8th, 2016 to quality for our event rate (which is valid from 3 days before until 3 days after the marathon, so 5/5-5/17).  Only 1 person per room (who needs to be at least 18 years old) needs to call to make the reservation, though the hotel will need the names of all occupants prior to check-in, along with whether or not the bill should be split.  A credit card is needed to place the reservation, but will not be authorized until check-in.  When calling, please mention that you're attending RPG Limit Break, so you get the event rate.

Alcohol is not allowed in the conference rooms or other public spaces at the hotel (by both RPGLB staff and hotel policy, since we don't have a license for serving alcohol at the event), but is fine to have and drink in guest rooms as long as everyone there is of legal drinking age (21 in the US).

All attendees must be at least 18 years old - minors are welcome to attend free of charge, as long as they’re accompanied by a parent/guardian that is registered & paid.

Attendance Costs (Payment due April 1st)
$50 USD for full event or $20 USD for 1 day - payable via PayPal to RPGLimitBreak~AT~gmail~DOT~com (or alternative arrangements with puwexil if you can't or don't use PayPal).  Please either mark the payment as a 'gift' (send money to friends or family) or add 4% to cover PayPal transaction fees ($52 total for full event or $20.80 for 1 day).

Game Submissions/Schedule
Schedule has been posted here (MDT/GMT-6) and here (autoconverts to your local timezone).  See the game submission thread for full details.

For Fun! For GLORY!!
This is one marathon I'd thought I'd never thought I'd be able to submit for cuz I never would pick an RPG to speedrun.
But since I do now, I shall wait patiently for a few weeks to submit and hope I make it in. ^_^

But I do has question, if some of us can't make the full week, will there be half week/weekend costs for attending, or by day?
ready to help like last year : chat moderation (either twitch, irc or both) and some prizes when games will be set Smiley

Obviously, if you stay for fewer days, you will need to pay for fewer nights at the hotel. We haven't settled registration fees yet, so please keep an eye on this thread and you'll know as soon as we do.
This will be literally a 10-15 minute walk from me. If my excitement had an HP value it'd be 9999.
I probably won't submit any runs this time so that others might have more opportunities to run, but I definitely want to come (45 minute drive). I'm more interested in helping and commentating...but please no poison this time....
Been waiting for this news!  Can't wait to see everyone there.
\o/ Been looking forward to this. Happy to hear plans are already well laid.
Games!
Personally, my most anticipated marathon of 2016.
Sounds like there won't be a way to cook at this event like last time. Suppose i'll just bring something that travels well. Can't wait to go now!
I'll still let you cook for me Osey <3

HYPED for this!

Likely lack of Denton's cooking will be sad, but everything else sounds just as good as I'd hoped. Looking forward to submissions in a few weeks!

Attendees may be driven mad by eldritch sounds from the realms of insanity.  It's in the registration waiver.
Stay chill, be cool.
I'm so glad that RPG Limit Break is happening again and I'm also glad we are going with NAMI as our charity, it's a personal thing for me.

I know for sure I'm making it this time around.

I forgot the most important question: where is the nearest bowling alley?

There's a bowling alley on campus. Looks like non-students won't get to have the specials, so if you feel like becoming a student immediately for that week somehow...nvm. Anyway, here's the details:

I'll just plan on going deaf by the time RPG LB 2016 comes around then....
Woot, I can drive to SLC. Hopefully I can afford to go and meet you all.
Party%
I think I will submit for this one. About time I get to a marathon other than Scrubathon once Tongue
Consider me hyped!
For Fun! For GLORY!!
Ok new question I forgot to ask.

If I attend, I'd need to ask for time off work (which isn't hard). But it most likely not be for the entire week. Most submission forms will have that option of 'what days will you be at the marathon'. So...what should I respond with there if I have no idea when I'll be there?
steak Steak STEAK!!!
How far in advance will the schedule be finalized? (i.e. will we know the schedule in January, or not until March or April)  This cuts right through final exams for next Spring for me, and while I can make arrangements with faculty / other students, I would really like to know sooner rather than later what the schedule will be, so I can make appropriate arrangements as needed far in advance.
damn.... Utah, rip me
dat jerk
I have to be careful about registering for summer classes since some of them start on May 9.

And hopefully I can make it to this one since I'll be looking at over $1,000...

Game submissions and event signups are going to be 2 separate processes; and you don't need to know your specific attendance dates until actually signing up to come.  Game submissions will be 12/5-19, and attendance signups will be next year after the schedule is released.  I can reschedule runs because of limitations on or changes to runner availability - obviously the more advance notice the better.

I'd like to have the game list by end of year and the schedule by early to mid-February, if not sooner.

Gotcha. Cheers Puwexil! Smiley
Very nice!  With this much advance notice, maybe I can actually get this week off and come visit.  Whether I'll have a game ready to submit is entirely another question Cheesy
