I just wanted to drop in and confirm what Kotti said about the Dark Souls run, I'll most probably be showing up unless I get massively sick or something, so if possible it'd be neat to write up that the Dark Souls run will be a race.

Time drawn near to the first soft deadline.

If you have a game you really want to run at ESA, now is the time to speak up. Also, if you have suggested a game and not posted estimates or are uncertain about it. Now is also the time to speak up.

Super Probotector: Alien Rebels - SNES - any% - sub 20 minutes
Yngve, could you play the NTSC version, Contra III?
Precursor
Okay, after downloading a copy of the spreadsheet and writing my own small comments on each game, I've come to two conclusions about the games I suggested myself, since we need to cut about half of what's on there (well, we all know we'll get time back from breaking estimates, but...): First, I am withdrawing Ragnarok Battle Offline, because while it's a fantastic game, most people probably haven't even heard of it, so I really feel like I'm pushing it when asking for 1:45 for a game that obscure. It was fine when it was just 20 minutes for Duo Princess, but nearly two hours is a bit much. I doubt it would have survived the first round of cuts either way, so I might as well withdraw it. Still gonna have the game there, and I'd love to play it multiplayer with some of you, because that's the best thing ever.

Secondly, I'm really starting to think Adventure Ponies should be a bonus game rather than a candidate for the main schedule. It's really short, we're talking sub four minutes, the estimate of ten minutes is only because I forsee a flash game being able to bring with it all sorts of problems. I wanted it in because of the donation war, but there might still be a way to do that.

Hi ozzy88! I guess... How so? What's the difference? :-)

I don't have NTSC nor the game for it. Given it's provided I guess it should be okay.
I would need to borrow or get myself a good controller though.
If the controller is not up to snuff, it will really screw me over ^^,

The PAL controllers fit the NTSC systems.

Astérix and Obélix […] estimate to be added after Crystals for Life.

I'm sorry, I ran this, but I have yet to run this with a stopwatch running with me, and I have no recollection of my final time because it was week-end and I had time up my sleeves to infinity and beyond ^^'

I am very hesitant to have this game due to it's history. There are many good Contra 3 runners and times are very competative.
If you would run the NTSC version (Available on Virtual Console if you have a Wii) on hard. And get solid ~16 minute times I say go for it.

It's on the list. Since it's not a very long game, having to cut it very late won't affect the overall schedule much.

Goldeneye 007 Agent speedrun on Nintendo 64 (either solo or a race against somebody else (I know other GE players will be attending). Aprox 30 minutes

Alright, I'll be pulling out Demon's Crest. I might run it next time, but I just can't get my cartridge to work, and currently don't have the finances to buy a new copy.

I'll be starting to practice CVHD, Eversion (I think you can put the estimate more towards 10 minutes, just wanted to make sure I'm not underestimating it), and routing more of X-Men Destiny (I have neglected that).
I think cutting down to about 2 hours is possible for X-Men. That said, it's not a very good game, so if this is holding back some better runs, I'd rather have it taken out and just play Eversion and CVHD (or Portrait of Ruin if a DS capture is found).
That said, I'll also keep you posted about the length for the CVHD run, I think it might be possible to cut it down as well (though the character and difficulty settings have a lot of variance).

I'd rather be down to 1 or 2 short games than give other runners no chance to play!

Ninja Gaiden - NES - Any % race with dxtr - 20 minutes

Zelda II - NES - Races with Pro_JN (in order of preference)
1. 100 % (SDA rules) - 1 hour 20 minutes
2. Any % - 1 hour 15 minutes
3. 100 % All keys - 1 hour 30 minutes

(All games NTSC-U and all time estimates are based on relatively smooth gaming and set-up time. I guess this isn't the sign-up thread, but here you have my preferences anyway) Wink

Resident Evil 4 - Wii - New Game + Normal - 1 hour and 50 minutes
Doom 3 BFG Edition - Xbox 360 - Lost Mission - 40 Minutes
Hey I'm Roy of Roy's Toys. I'm a video game merchandise retailer and I'm a speed run fan, though I don't run myself. I donated some prizes to AGDQ and Crystals For Life this year and I'd be interested in donating some merchandise as prizes for ESA too if the organisers are interested! I'm actually based in Europe (UK specifically) so it should be easier for me to send prizes as compared to US and Canada.

Would the organisers be interested in this? Who should talk to regarding this?

Do feel free two cut the number on Penumbra to 1. I'd like to keep one just because I think it would make a great block with Amnesia. Forget Requiem completely and make it a donation war between Overture and Black Plague maybe? Or just have Black Plague since it's very likely to be the more popular game. (Unless it's possible to get someone involved in the development to show up, then it would be cool to do more. Not expecting it though since Frictional is located in Helsingborg and not Skövde.)
Smörgåsbord
I asked Staffan about it and he said Paradox Interactive have almost no contact with the team that made Penumbra but he said we could try asking the developers!
We both like money! Friends?
Can't promise I'll be there but if I can: Braid - all puzzle pieces, 35:00 min. Might grab some stars if desired Wink
Speed is all that matters.
Gotta drop this in as well.

Feel free to cut Hyper Princess Pitch; it wouldn't be a proper speedrun anyway.
