If I choose to let sda encode it, would I just send them an mp4 file of my run?
SDA Apprentice -- (3-1)
I can "Somewhat" answer this one.  When I first started, I admit that I couldn't get anri-chan working (the program used to encode the videos to the site).  So I did send in my mp4s and they were nice enough to encode it for me.  That said, it is "suggested/adviced" that you do the encoding yourself and then send in those videos as it helps to get the video up and running a bit faster.

I have to say though Aftermath, I too have been looking into a way to stream and record, and with a new HD recorder, I do want to see for streaming my attempts so that I have a better chance of getting accepted runs.  I'll see if I can try and make something happen as well, so thanks for post that as well.
Sounds like Maverick talk to me.
Looks like i found a IJ. In order to reach greater heights, Try elevating yourself using the shotgun in the air followed by Fireworks. Time it correctly and you should be able to reach Great heights.

Although there is no Audio. But it doesnt matter.

This seems like a pretty simple concept, are you sure its an infinite jump like you said? I remember in the past DMC games there were moves that increased the players height but they peaked at a certain height and then the character would slowly fall. Considering how easy this looks I don't think the programmers would have ignored such a glaring problem? Or is it just that it looks simple to do but is rather quite difficult to accomplish?

Its Pretty simple. The IJ doesnt take much practice to do. It just requires timing. Time The shotgun shot wrong and you fall to the ground.

I was just about to start a thread for this game to add info on stuff I've found, but I see you've already started to add my videos above.

I'll be adding more info in the next few days.

What can I say?  You have done some great work so fair with the glitches you've found.  Also DarkBlues, he was referring to the videos that I had posted that Findlesticks did.  Not to cause any confusion.  Can't wait to see what else you find.

I do have one question though Mr. Stick, You don't have a 360 of course correct?  From what RuKus said, the flying glitch doesn't seem to work on the 360 and only for the PS3.

Sorry about the confusion there. It seemed as if it was referred to mine.
Now that we got that aside, How would you see the IJ useful in any missions? Ive only made use of it on Mission 3. Reaching a height to where a golden key is I then jump off to the next triggered fight. The area doesnt shift and makes it skip a few minutes of being thrown around.

Oh wow, I didnt know you where on SDA Findle Tongue Cheers for replying to me on youtube (CallMeM0DZ) you sir are amazing.

@Darkblue, I think we can use the IJ to get OoB and basically walk across the top of the map, much like Findles Eyeless skip, Which btw Findle I never could manage to do the first jump like you, i always have to go out wider otherwise i get blocked by collision.

I found this yesterday during a stream as well haha, Although you seem much better with the timing then me Tongue Im thinking this version of IJ may be quite useful as it doesn't look to hard to master and you seem to get a lot of upwards momentum from the Shotgun blasts.

Eyeless. at the very start.

Even with the IJ glitch there needs to be quite a large skip for it to matter in the heaven or hell game mode.  I finished earlier today a little under two hours and I felt like using the eyeless skip and the fountain skip didn't help excessively.  Though I will say since the fountain skip is easy enough to do that even a few seconds is beneficial.  Ideally I'm gonna be trying to find something for chapter 2 and 18 since those are smaller areas that just have you circle around a lot.

Also watch out in those OoB glitches.  Lots of places that will just drop ya indefinitely.

And thanks findle for those first vids, opened up a lot of possibilities for us to work with.

I bet with a little bit more practice you can destroy your time Teawrex, I may sit down sometime today and beat son of sparda to get heaven or hell.
Oh I can, I had SOOOOOO many mistakes.  Plus that last fight with vergil is stupid when he can just tap you...

This is getting exciting.  It is one thing to see a hopeful new game get added to the site, but for a speed run to be developed so quickly after a game gets released, now we're talking!

Granted I wonder that when DmC gets accepted will we ever get around to working on that "Other" DMC run...  You know the one... the one no one ever talks about...

Same Here. I cant wait to see what we find next. Although there may be some differences in glitches due to the different console. People arent able to pull of certain Infinite jumps like Findle has. My infinite jump glitch has been found on 360 console cause thats the only one thats seems to work besides the IJ on the courtyard. For now, ill be using the simple Shotgun jump. There are too many IJ's to go around.

I only have a PS3, so can't vouch for 360 glitches. Keep in mind that the flying glitch is pretty difficult to do at first, the timing has to be frame precise. It gets much easier once you figure out the timing (even tho the principle of the glitch is simple, as described in my video descriptions). I'm working on a tutorial for this btw, it's been tricky to demonstrate the timing.

Although the game seems broken, I've barely started testing it, so who knows what else will be found.

On some of my recent vids I've used IJ to help me skip certain sections of the game (& in some skips I've yet to upload).

"Under Watch": Normal Play, Skip the first battle with the Whip/Ebony & Ivory IJ (but it's faster with the infinite wall jump) by going over the battle trigger.

"Virility": You can skip the 1st major battle simply by IJ'ing over the battle trigger.

"Overturn": In one of my recent vids I jumped over a battle trigger to skip a fight & cutscene. I also used it in version 1 of this skip, to get up to a grapple-ledge that wasn't yet loaded cos I had skipped the battle via flying.

"Eyeless": IJ or Wall IJ to get on the map (level more-of-less skipped).

Also, IJ is helpful when combined with long jumps to pretty much navigate anywhere you like. A wall breach trick would be the final nail in this game's coffin, I managed to breach a few walls in the demo. This is one of many things that still need proper testing, as do the character mechanics.

If its frame precise as you say it may present problems on other consoles. There isn't any way of telling how optimised a game is between two different consoles really apart from testing over and over again. For all we know those frames may not even exist on the 360 if the game is optimised better on one console than the other. I guess someone on the 360 will have to do some extensive testing on the 360 to make sure those frames don't exist.

When findle releases hes tutorial on the flying glitch ill test it. Also I asked findle before and he said he only has the default Dante abilities, If your trying to replicate the glitch on 360 i suggest taking Dantes abilities that include him jumping on top of enemys or any abilities that activate after using the whip.
I have this game for PC, I can't test whether this glitch is on it yet because the EU still have to wait a week before they can play this game. When it comes out I'll test it and see if it exists on PC. More than likely the PC will be a version and the optimisation will be terrible. If I can replicate the glitch on the PC then we can more or less assume the glitch is due to optimisation. It will probably come down to the PS3 and PC versions just being terribly optimised which allows for such a precise frame glitch to exist. I'll get back to you on this. Unfortunately I'm going to have my hands full with other things in my life so I wouldn't expect a quick confirmation. Unless someone else will be testing this. Hopefully so.
