Hey all, First just wanna say this is my first post here so if its in the wrong section I apologize.

That being said I have recently been practicing the new DmC by ninja theory , and was just wondering how to get people to verify a run (when I feel confident in my time ill upload).
My current time playing on Nephilim Any% w/ Items is 3:19:02 (which I believe I can definitely get below 3 hours.)
Also I will probably be running this game w/o items so I was wondering when it comes to these games or DMC games in general is there a category for w/ and w/o the use of items? e.g. The Healing stars.

Hopefully someone can answer these questions, and hopefully Ill beat my 3:19:02 tomorrow afternoon.

I can't answer the DmC specific questions; go post in newer consoles there. In general, search(upper right) for a thread on the game and bump it before creating a new one, and I'm sure one exists there.

As for getting verifiers, if you submit it, they will come. The Rules and FAQ at the top of the main page detail the submission process. Once a run is submitted, it presence in the verification thread attracts people who have played the game. You don't need to worry about hunting them down.

Hello ImRuKus and welcome to SDA. Really fast, for any new threads for games, they would be put into the "Newer or Older systems." Granted that you can either start a new thread there or an admin can move this over for you. I don't think anyone else has posted a "DmC" thread yet so you would be the fist.

Next for verification, it is a pretty simple process as all you would need to do is right here: http://speeddemosarchive.com/lang/submit_en.html

While there is a few number of things that goes into submittion, the simple "abridged" version would be this: contact the admin "puwexil" and request if you can submit a speed run of the game you performed. Personally, I find a quick PM through the forums to be the easiest. From there, the run gets posted to the verification list to which people will come in to request to verify your run. From there, you will be contact and will be given further instructions. Do not send the run until they say so.

As for that third part: the argument of "w/ items" and "w/o items" is irrelevant to the site in regards of categories. However I will make this suggestion: use items if you see it helps to "Speed things up." If you are using items to try and heal yourself, you might want to avoid that unless you find yourself in a position that you will be taking damage and you have to use it to stay alive. Basically, do not rely heavily on items unless if it helps to complete the stages faster, which I can't say for sure DmC actually has any items like that.

Other than that, best of luck to you ImRuKus. Remember, if you need help with anything, such as planning or how to properly speed through things, do hesitate to ask for the help. Considering how we have every DMC game on the site (besides 2), I'm sure someone here can help you, if not might already be working on a speed run already.

I try and do a nice thing and start a thread, when I find out it just got moved over... My irony knows no bounds...

Anyway, ImRuKus, it seems someone has already started to tear this game apart.

According to some posts, this was done by Holding L2 and keep pressing Square and X. Here is more things on this gentleman's youtube page. Also should be noted that the guy's name is Findlestick.

I'll post more right now, but this could be the start of something big.

hard to say. I would say yes myself, but then it is difficult to say since if these tricks can be reproduced by anyone, then that might put you in an awkward position of being turned down.

Still, it is one technicality that would work in your favor. The amendment known as "Skips." Best example I can share would be DK64. Without skips, it would be 4:26, but if you use the major skips, the game can be beaten in under an hour. Therefore, if you submit, your run should still be ok since you aren't using any Major skips to bypass major chucks of the level... or at least that is how I would see it. Of course, I'm no "Super know it all" on the site, but I try and do what I can to help anyone get off the ground.

All of that said, I would also say for you to hold off on the submittion just in case since you've proven that 3 hours can be cracked. If you can crack three hours, then you should be in the best position to submit it and get it accepted.

Well that Whip jump is one glitch that was found... However, there is that other glitch that was found.

1. Grab an enemy with the Angel Whip, then interrupt it via the Glide (at a very specific moment). That's pretty much it, tho it takes some practice to figure out the timing as to when to interrupt (frame precise).

again, hard to say how this can be used, but then for the secret ingredient video that was posted, that is one example as it allows for a quick means to fly through (as long as there is an enemy around to help activate it.)

Edit: oh yeah... here is one other glitch video he did of the same infinite jump, but for it to be done without walls.

Been playing around with some of these exploits, atm I cant replicate the flying one (maybe its a ps3 only bug, I was told that the unreal engine has troubles with ps3 software)

Wall infinite jump is very easy. I can allready do the Eyeless Level skip, however Ill need more practice for it to actually become quicker then just doing the level normally. However I believe using the wall jump to skip the fountain and a couple of other cut scenes/fights in the 4th stage will be useful as its very easy to replicate.

I cant replicate the on the spot infinite jump either yet, I dont know the correct timing in which I need to cancel the shots with the whip. All though I did find another method to infinite on spot jump using a shotgun ability mixed with whip cancelling. However at the moment it isnt very useful as its hard to gain and maintain height.

I will most likely be doing another run tomorrow, Maybe not including the eyeless skip as im not that confident with it atm. but it will include the 4th level fountain + cut scene skip. Aiming for anything below 3 hours. Hopefully with these skips I can knock off somewhere between 10-15 minutes.

Hey ImRuKus, I'm pretty new around here as well but I just started running this game as well! Overall I think you're goal of sub 3 hour is very doable, especially if that was just one of your first playthroughs, so I'm sure I'll hear about that soon. I also just started messing with the infinite wall jump and found that in some cases you really can't get OOB very easily and if you do sometimes you just fall indefinitely. So careful with that wall jump or your angel leap might softlock your game. I ended up accidentally clipping through a wall doing this and hit B for helm breaker on the rebellion and it wouldn't let me go to the menu or anything. I'll post anything i find that's skippable with what we know so far. Good luck to you.

Also, if you find a better way to do the eyeless level skip that is more reliable let me know, because right now it's taking me forever to hit it just right.

Awesome Teawrex! My most recent time is 3:00:36 w/o items and that includes dying 2 times, once on the stage before Mundus and once on Mundus (got a horrible pattern with him and it cost me!) So it is very possible to break sub 3. Ive been trying to find new places to clip through. Are you using an xbox? and if so have you managed to replicate the flying glitch?

Ive found theres a couple places that are dangerous to fall, Ill try right them down next time and post them so no one screws themselves >.<!

Im also currently working on an easy path for the eyeless level, I believe Ive found an easier first jump, Instead of jumping close to the pillar he jumps at, jump more towards the windows and infinite jump, You wont bump the collision boxes at the top.
Im working on how to make the second jump easier, as I find it the most troubling.
Getting into the cutscene, you can make it quicker by just dropping of the ledge and boosting into the dome.
Getting into the fight you have to trigger is easy as well,pretty straightforward, Getting out of it I found you can double jump on the exit you need to take then if you double jump at the perfect time you will pull yourself up onto the map, no need to infinite jump.

Ill post a video with my methods to make it easier.

That's awesome considering you only died twice, especially when they are on the more grueling of the stages. And yes, it's on Xbox for me, no PS3's in my place, so I'm thinking that flying glitch may be ps3 exclusive, I'm not sure.

Those collision boxes at the top of the eyeless jump are what's killing me. Just can't seem to get the right angle on it, so I'd be interested to see it done differently. The rest of it I don't find troubling at all so far so that's good news for me I suppose, but that doesn't mean anything if I can't make the first jump consistently anyways.

Ok, so im downloading the .flv's from twitch, I understand that there just a container file or somthing, you can get audio out of them but I cant hear audio when I just play the flv in VLC Player, How do I go about this, Do i send them in and when they encode them They wil get the audio working for me or what? The last half an hour is a local recording so it has sound. Also im not sure how to send it in. I wont be making it into a disc and mailing it.

There are helpful documents on how to best record, but you'll want to get a file that's pretty much lossless, then use one of the tools in the Tech Support forum to encode various qualities. SDA values high quality archives, so submissions recorded from a stream won't be accepted.

Also, because the submission process takes so long, before submitting you'll want to make sure you have a run that you still think is good 6 months from now. The game is pretty new and tricks are still being discovered, so you may want to just hold off on submissions until the route seems stable and optimized and you're pretty sure you're hitting your limit on the speedrun. It takes a lot of practice and resets, but if the game is fun then hopefully it doesn't turn into a chore. Feel free to post youtube or twitch highlights of good runs and such, as I'm sure there's a lot of people with interest on this run.

Ive already changed the flv to mp4 files, theres no quality lose they still look like my original video,If they reject the quality of the video then I dont know how else I can record it since xsplits using the input from my avermedia live gamer to record. I just need to get my spx audio converted so I can put it back in with after effects and render them out myself, ( I dont wanna send huge files)

As for the time, I dont know if Ill be able to ebat it for a while, I got lucky on some parts, and when I wasn't getting lucky I was loosing my time.

Ok so ive figured how to make my audio back to mp3, I should really use the 3 month code i got with the cap card next time >.<!
Also regarding another rime submission, I probably wont submit one until I can optimize this run more, I know it can be done with the eyeless skip, but until I can do it first time, My time wont go down by alot, Im basically just playing most the game very fast without any glitches.

Ok so i give up trying to get the raw flvs out of the container and into something that sda will accept, I dont know how I can possibly stream and record this at the same time, If anyone knows how I can get the flvs to something after effects will read id love to know, Because when i use ffmpeg it sails codec not currently supported in container.

Look into AmarecTV for recording + streaming. There are some good threads on how to use it posted somewhere on the forums, search should bring something up. You should really check out the tech support section of this forum, it has a ton of really good information and resources.

Ive got a 3 month sub to xsplit so for now i can use that and record local recording into mp4 so it should be good, I probably wont go for another run for a little bit however.
