I'd be interested in a ranger run, not only because it's my personal favorite, but also because it's probably going to filled to the brim with game-breaking glitches, going by what's been said so far. Watching Dark Falz get cheesed to death by an ultra-powered 100% accuracy mechgun will probably be nothing short of hilarious. Come to think of it, a glitched ranger run should be done on Hard or above, just so we can see DF's last form get owned by a mega-cheesy mechgun as well.

I hope you plan to follow that up with a real run Smiley

Sorry, I'm finally starting college and I hope to have little to no interest in video games after.
Thank you for all the comments though.

That was a very cool run!  It's crazy that sub 3mins is possible if you could deal 1K+ damage on the dragon (it skips the 'laying-down' stage: shoot, roar, shoot & dead).

We've come a long way in this thread, we found and discovered a lot to save many minutes (heh, the same could be said with lots of active topics here).  It has been fun.

That doesn't sound like you are too happy to lose your interest Wink
Anyway, I guess your studies are more important.

Actually, it is just one game breaking glitch and some minor shortcuts. Watching DF is a short pleasure though since he takes only ~2 mechgun bursts IIRC.

That would basically be a NG+ unless you do both / all difficulties. IMO everything NG+ like should be on ultimate. Going from normal to ultimate would be an option although it would be pretty repetitive and ultimate mines get really hard when everything OHKOs you and those sinow * jump at you (this would probably make an "all difficulties" run worthwhile :)). When I played with a seriously underleveled force I at least had a high level jellen spell so I had to evade only the first attack.

When you go straight from the beginning to hard DF killing his third form without a scape doll is also a problem. I haven't tried it with maxed power (as many equipped weapons as possible) but the problem is that he moves out of range of a mechgun and a rifle might not do the job before he kills you.

Awesome job on the latest PSO run!  Slashing goodness.  8)
Thanks.
Congrats, nice run Smiley

The monster tactics and fighting (especially in ruins) looked really good but my favourite is how you completely crushed those sinows. They cost me a lot of time but you make them look like rappies.
Mines were also used pretty effectively, I would not have expected that they have such a big impact. If someone tries another hunter run he should probably make a detailed plan when to use mines to make optimal use of free refills on level up. I have my doubts about the refills at the infirmary though (except in ruins) since it costs a lot of time (~30 seconds) you have to make up.

You were pretty lucky with the trigrinders you found but it might have been better to just sell them. You don't seem to deal significantly more damage to DF and with all the money you could have skipped a lot of loot.

Anyway, it was fun to watch the run.
no doubt about it - one of my top runs on the site.

fantastic job.
Thanks.  Nice to hear people like my run.

I enjoy beating those sinow that way too.  It's flashy and actually saves noticeable time  8)

Traps (mines) are definitely a great help, and I should have planned their usage at least starting at Caves.    But alas, I only planned them for Ruins, and I messed up in Ruins3 too.

As for going into infirmary, I agree that my visit to the infirmary was not wise during Caves area, or at least I should have planned it such that I will have a fire trap for the last slime.  I think I didn't go during Mines, so that's fine.  Either way, this falls into the whole "better trap planning" category that I failed to do until Ruins.

I sort of have to disagree with you on the "selling trigrinder" issue though.  While small, grinding still helps (especially when you have +11 Tongue ).  Plus I often have to check the loot to see if there's better equipment anyway.

Mainly conceptual, but....

With all the discoveries relative to the game in the last year or 2, is it to a degree where an "all mission" or some such run could enter the realm of feasibilty within time constraints?  I recall some missions being quite "time attackish" and it would be interesting to see just what kind of havoc could be wreaked if an optimal route could be figured with it in mind for money, weaponry, and experience.
My initial guess would be that it's best (at least for a force) to get to ruins as fast as possible for rafoie and then clear all missions. if there is an early mission that starts at caves 2/3 or has a very short caves 1 it might be possible to manipulate a barta drop to save time against de rol le but I doubt it. When ruins 2/3 missions get available you can manipulate disk drops to get the best spells available (especially rafoie and barta).

Since HP would be no problem the section ID should be Pinkal.

Which PSO game has "all" the quests/mission stuff anyways.....I+II Plus for GCN and all?  I guess this might could also involve Ep 2 somehow...maybe...

Gah, just seems like there's gotta be many more runs left in this iconic game.
I do Non Official Runs in my spare time.
Awesome run man.
Yes, a cucco riding the ground.

I'm not sure about PSO: Blue Burst, but Plus has all the missions of standard I&II along with Central Dome Fire Swirl in Episode I and Seat of the Heart (or whatever it's called), East Tower, and West Tower in Episode II.
I did a single segment glitched test run a while back. Time came to be 1h 23m i think.
Lurkin' and watching!
Great run! Amazing melee skills to!
I have no solution, but i admire the problem.
hey, nice run! although i have to admit that i fast-forwarded it alot.
i have one question, however: what exactly is the use of photon blast, especially in the beginning? Just
to free up your quickslot? Against De Rol Le, for example, you used it against his "stings", although you could have
just evaded them, and you wrote yourself that they only do about the damage of a H attack, and the animation lasts
way longer than that.

^in the DRL case, i used the 1st PB so i can get another PB, and hopefully an invincibility alone with it.

I didn't miss any of my chance to attack DRL due to PB, and I got an extra H (that doesn't miss!) worth of damage for the price of 11-12 sec (PB animation time).  Remember that against DRL I am already attacking at every chance I got.  So that H from PB is not something I can just replace. Besides, DRL fighting time is really measure by how many times DRL boards the raft.  Beating DRL one landing early can save ~2 minutes.  So I think it's worth the gamble.
  tl...

EDIT: you can't compare PB time and H time like that, 'cause without the PB, I wouldn't even have time to do an extra H.  And the thing is, I DID evade, w/ my PB; AND I got an H damage in at the same time. Grin  Whether that's worth the 12 seconds of animation is debatable, but I didn't just use a PB and still have to evade.

i assume by "in the beginning", you mean cave?  'cause i thought all the PB usages after that were great.  Well, except Vol Opt...
In cave, I only used PB once against normal enemies.  It looks like it was just a few seconds slower than me beating them with a saber perfectly, and the situation didn't look like I could beat them perfectly anyway.  In any case, I don't think doing one way or the other would change the time by a noticeable amount.

But yes, PB taking up the sub command is really annoying.  I can't use trap or no-target trick w/ just R.  So there was incentive for me to get rid of it asap.

Did you record the run and did you use a RAcast or something else?
It was a practice run, I didn't record it because my capture card was on the fritz but I'm all set now with my new Blackmagic Intensity Pro.

I ran it with a HUmar of all things. Not quite sure why but I guess that's the nature of doing a test run.
