Running for the Dr. Fetus item is torturous. Get it about every 30 minutes with Isaac's D6 to help. I can feel my brain liquefying and leaking out my ear.

I haven't seen the shovel in a looong time and I always check the devil rooms. It'd be hard to earn much money since you'll just be ignoring everything, unless there's a quarter on a pedestal somewhere.

In our lull of content, I'd like to point out that bombs nearly one-shot Scolex, the worm dude in the Womb. Since we're getting Dr Fetus anyway hitting him with one should be for granted, but this means that an optimal run will require facing him in Womb 1.
Monstro's Tooth also one-shots him, but it's actually not all that great on any of the bosses past Basement 2 (it only takes off about 20% of Mom's hp, though it's a guaranteed hit which is kind of nice).

This run just got harder. The new Halloween update added new levels, so hooray for even more hoping to take the correct path to boss rooms. Barring some crazy luck, the Compass became more important than ever...

...Oh, and the fact that the update is glitched and the Satan boss causes massive slowdown. And that certain new items don't work in conjunction with old items. And that one of the new items can't damage one of the new bosses. And that people are reporting game crashes when they've previously had none.

Looking forward to the Halloween update.2 ...

I just managed to Teleport into Satan's Room in Womb 2, completely bypassing Mom's Heart. That item can really save you a lot of time, at least, if you spend your time clearing rooms rather than just blowing up doors and running through.

Hot damn Satan is difficult. I didn't experience any slowdown though.

Okay, so apparently the update decided that Mr. Boom can be used infinitely...I'm not kidding, I could spam powered up bombs to my hearts content, and it would never drain. Greatest run ever Cheesy

Must be a bug, my Mr. Boom went on recharge as intended.

Anyone know how often you need to beat the game to unlock Satan's levels? I haven't unlocked all items, so the game just ends when I beat Mom's Heart <.<

Edit: Wiki comments say beating It Lives unlocks Sheol, the last level.
Wiki also says that the lag on Satan is due to a bug with ingame music. Which explains why I didn't experience it, because I don't have music turned on.

You're right, Onin, on both counts. I believe you need to beat Mom ten times before Sheol unlocks, and the reports say that if you mute the game before you enter Satan's room the slowdown won't occur.

Teleporting to Satan in the Womb 2? That, too, sounds like a bug, kinda like how some folks are reporting that the final boss' intro screen said it was the Duke of Flies and a horseman spawned in the boss room. The infinite Mr. Boom is among them.

I thought Satan was tough, too, but it was mostly because the new item, Brimstone, wasn't doing a lick of damage to him. If it actually worked, I probably would have stomped him.

I think I read that a new update should be implemented tomorrow and will fix some/most/all the bugs we're experiencing. *crossing fingers*

I don't think so. Teleport can put you into ANY room, including Devil's Room, which in Womb 2 is refurbished from a shop to a trapdoor.

I faced Satan with Bobby-Bomb+Dr Fetus and I basically bombed myself to death before he could die. He has SO much health...

Brimstone is pretty powerful, it's pretty much Technology+Chocolate Milk in one item. It's not gonna out-perform Dr Fetus though.

Ahhh, my mistake. I misread your statement; I thought you meant that you FOUGHT Satan in the Womb 2, not simply found his item room. Though, the fact that he's got a trapdoor in there for a Mom bypass is very interesting news, indeed.

Hopefully the folding up of the bugs will continue (unfortunately, a run with Mr. Boom on infinite would be pretty bad-ass), and we can actually start assessing the new items and their usefulness in runs.

And yes, Brimstone is overpowered as fuck. Call for immediate nerf.

Apparently Devil's Room in Womb 2 has a random chance to open when you kill Mom's Heart just like any other Devil's Room. I could just walk into Sheol after my 8th kill. o.O

I forsee Brimstone's cost being buffed to 2 soul hearts or something :>

Just started playing the Halloween update. Got to Satan like 3x and died each time. For the 3rd phase is there a trick to not get hit? I got to the 4th phase once because I could freeze him on the other side so I could just dodge all his bullets. But the other times he sweeps left and right and when he gets close to me the only way to not get squished or shot point blank in the face is to run under him, but if I do that his lasers seem to hit me no matter what. Do I have to bait the lasers and then run under? I've tried to sit in the space between his hand and mouth laser but that didn't seem to work.

marshmallow if you move towards his mouth whenever he isn't in the middle of shooting bullets he will mouth laser, which can then be followed by the hand laser(s). The simplest way I have found to beat him is to bait him into Laser then beat on himf rom the side and then move back to bait the laser, rinse repeat. Beware eh can smarten up and use his hand lasers if you are not quick enough.

I have personally no hit satan 2 times for sure. Both on stream, during my 6 kills of Shoeh (yeah i have done it once with each character).
I am currently 50/51 achievements (missing golden god) needing to grab 2 items (Forget me now, and Raw Liver). Anyone got tips for those that'd be awesome

If we can manip Chocolate Milk + brimstone that might be better than fetus, but fetus lets you get through doors.

I think I've only seen the raw liver in secret rooms. I really doubt any combo would be faster than Fetus.

Only thing that I can contribute right now is the fact that I finally got my first Mom's Heart kill tonight and unlocked Judas. Maybe soon I'll catch up and be able to help some more.

I saw a video of Chocolate Milk + Brimstone. It's basically the charged laser with a reload speed equal to normal tears. The increased speed versus monster rooms alone would justify it. Then again, it might be a bug(given everything else in the update), and could get patched out.

It does? Plenty bug reports say Brimstone doesn't damage Satan's phase 2 and 3.

-Fixed Mr. Bombs recharge bug
-Fixed Eves unlocking (now unlocked by meeting satan 2 times and getting 2 items from him)

I beat satan with brimstone before that update since i unlocked Eve on my first satan kill.
Couldve had to do with me having max dmg or homing shots on top of it.
