Quote from RoboSparkle:
It's the new area transfer that gives it to you in City.  The only cutscene trigger in asylum would be Ivy, so if you can get over that ravine w/o Line Launcher that's a possibility (and if you can do that do you need to even fight the titans?)

The only way I can think of to get over that pit to talk to Ivy would be to fall into the pit and somehow trick the game into thinking you jumped from the other side when you save yourself. I've never seen anything along the walls you can get stuck on or stand on.

Got a new PB in Easy Mode. Although, scarecrow 1 was sloppy, killer croc was sloppy (really need to practise him) and i actually got caught on scarecrow 3, i still managed to WR just because of that awesome bell skip and a few other strats. Ill post a highlight in case anyone is interested. Should also mention this was on PC.

What do you think is the best time btw? a 1:47 is possible?

First of all, congratulations, that's a great time!

Secondly, on PC with the new strats (considering the old WR was PS3) a 1:47 is totally possible.

Speaking of predator rooms, i found a strat for the second predator room in the gardens, maybe a littler faster then the current easy mode one, i dunno.

Used this in the race last night, works a treat! so much better then trying to grapple everyone over a ledge thumbsup

New skips found!  Thanks to Diabuk we can now skip Scarecrow 2.

It's very tough to get positioning and the remote batarang handles like a wardrobe full of conkers on asylum, but you can enter the Mansion and immediately cut the bell down and skip straight to Zsasz

Wardrobe full of conkers is an understatement. Been trying for over an hour now. Is it easier with an Xbox controller? Playing on PC here.

Nice time Ollie.

How does the remote batarang control on mouse and KB? with the mouse right? I have all the versions of asylum but I play them all with a 360 controller so I can't say if it's harder on mouse or not.

You have to turn left as hard as you can for most of the turn then line up with the rope, that might involve moving the mouse constantly which would suck.
You have to use the W A S D keys on PC. I came close about 2-3 times. It's a nice find. I'll keep practicing it.

So Ollie asked me to reupload all of my old segmented footage (which was deleted by gamefront a long time ago, luckily I still have it) and I came across this gem of a blooper Smiley

I'll try to upload the rest of the footage, but I'm not sure if ge.tt will give me enough space (3GB limit) so if someone has a FTP server I can put this stuff on that would be appreciated.

Ok, so I'm doing some testing with the remote bats. For the gas room, it's MUCH easier to just aim above the switch, throw straight then angle down to get the switch rather than trying to fly it around the room.

Also, I figured out the perfect angle for the Nightmare 2 skip Smiley

In both videos, keep a close eye on not only where I'm standing but what objects in the background I'm lining up the crosshair to. For the gas room, make sure you line up so the V part of the crosshair centers with the right dangling wire. One thing I've noticed is the remote batarang likes to hang left if you raise/lower the pitch. Lining it up like I do in the gas room compensates so all you have to do is angle the batarang down to hit the box. For the nightmare skip, just after you pass through the hole, hold down and left. The timing can be finicky but the trick is to do it just late enough to get over the railing. Again, notice exactly where I'm standing to get the good angle.

And finally, for those that don't remember or didn't see, the infamous Air Gel% strats for Nightmare 2 thumbsup

And one more thing: for those that didn't get to see it, check out Ollie's run from the 6-man race. It's not perfect, but there are tons of little time savers he uses that need to be implemented once a new run is finally submitted.

Here's my fast strat for NM3 on Easy. The only hiccup I had was at the end right before the Bat Signal. You can technically get all the way to it without stopping but I got held up on the wall. Right after the grapple climb up the elevator, just hug the wall and you can't be seen.
Man I wasn't aware how much you could just jet through scarecrow 3. Also, you're scarecrow levels are WAY cooler than the ones I've been playing. How did you include the extra graphics?

And I have to agree with Reaver above. That bell skip is a lot more difficult than I first thought.
The Dork Knight himself.
Well when you turn on the PhysX (PC only) the graphics get way cooler, although quite a bit distracting. Not to mention extremely system intensive if you don't have a 2nd dedicated nVidia card JUST for the PhysX calculations (which I don't have).

I was thinking the same thing about the bell skip until I found my own spot. The trick is to use the action cam (manual aim, fire with the secondary/capestun key) to line up the shot with regular batarangs, then use the remote once you're in the sweet spot.

Another thing for those fellow PC blokes: I believe the game will accept input from KB/Mouse and controller at the same time. This gets around certain issues where the KB might be better for opening grates and the controller is better for batarang control. This means if you have a KB close at hand, whenever you open a grate just start mashing on space (default, I use left alt as a secondary key). And for those lonely few who use KB/Mouse primarily (why am I the only one? rofl) it's possible to start things like the sequencer and quickly use the analog sticks to crack the code.

Once you practise the bell skip and find a consistent way of getting it down its not as bad.

Also thanks J for posting that scarecrow 3 i always get caught after i grapple up the elevator Smiley
The Dork Knight himself.
Since Robo asked me about it, here's my way to climb the sewers the second time through. I couldn't get the second zip to work, so I just used the corner skip instead. I'm thinking some of the zips can be altered so that I don't have to climb, but I don't know if that would be faster.

Nice line at 32 seconds in, never though about line launching there.

Quick update, me and Diab set a few new times. I managed to set a new PC time of 1:47:13 and Diab set a console (xbox360) time of 1:51:43

My time can still be improved, i died on scarecrow 1, but got the bell skip first time. Rest of the run was pretty solid, few execution mistakes.

Nice. So which bell skip method do you find easier, the original one or my improvised one?

Personally i fine the original because thats the one i practised a lot, i should practise yours at some point see how i find it.

I ran a full any% easy on the pc version today, you can open vents a lot quicker even with a controller, makes me think that a high frame rate helps button mashing parts, even text skipping feels a little quicker.

Still hard to say how much of a benefit the pc gives but it must be a good minute just from vents and text alone.
The Dork Knight himself.
Well if you need to increase the framerate, you could just disable the framerate smoothing option. Go into the base game directory, and navigate to this file: BmGame\Config\DefaultEngine.ini  Load it up in a standard txt editor and change this section:

[Engine.GameEngine]
bSmoothFrameRate=False
MinSmoothedFrameRate=24
MaxSmoothedFrameRate=120
MaxDeltaTime=0.0416666

Normally the bSmoothFramerate is set to True and the MaxSmoothedFrameRate is set to 62, but you get the idea. Just set the first option to False, and as a backup measure set the max to whatever you want. I use 120 just because that's the refresh rate of my monitor. Personally I haven't see a decrease in the amount of time it takes to rip vents, but the smoothness is a nice treat.

Btw, I was goofing off earlier and found that the first time you come across the armed guards (just before the first run through Intensive Treatment), rather than just using the remote bats against them, simply run out into the hall and roll past them. You'll still get to the grate with enough health, and even though he can't be stunned like normal (the 3 guards being spooked keeps the last one on alert) you still have just enough time/health to make it into the vent.

YES, finally broke the 2 hour mark with a time of 1:59:32!!!!! Very improvable if I stop interacting with the chat so much and don't have multiple crashes Wink Gotta luv gettin a PB.

And after some irc discussion, it's been figured out that Batman truly can do a Barrel Roll.

Just watched some of your run. Congrats on the PB Jay Smiley

Also how did you find your new spot for getting the bell skip? Looks really difficult
The Dork Knight himself.
I found that during the race last week. Got frustrated with your spot and started looking for other holes I could get a batarang through.
