Sure, upload it to youtube.
Alright the video is up. I'm not sure if i can post it here or not, so here is the name of the title.

The Last of us Speed run: 3 hours 40min 20 seconds

If I can post it here then I'll provide a link.
Please just post the link to your video.
Here is the link.

I watched most of it, looks pretty good. My favorite part was using the fire extinguisher at the end of university, very cool. Nice job shooting the deer as well, and your nail bomb usage was great.

Here's some things you could do to improve your time:

1. You can despawn the infected in the Bus Depot, read the earlier posts in this thread about it.

2. You can run past the first set of enemies in Tommy's Dam, which then lets you get to the next door to Molotov everyone easily.

3. At the end of Bill's Town, you can go straight up the ladder without killing that guy.
The run got a little off from my normal routine in the second half of the game. I'm used to having a bit more supplies for certain areas. Other than figuring out what happened there, this was my best run on easy. I want to complete each difficulty though in under 4 hours.

Yeah I read about the Bus Depot despawn, but at the time I decided to record my run I never gave it some practice. I have now though and it is great. It will be in my next run for sure.

I also practiced the Tommy's Dam fight with what you said above. I never thought about trying that before.
Normally in Bill's when I run toward the ladder, I can get there before he does. Wasn't mentally prepared I guess when he beat me ha!

I'm sure I can get easy in the 3:20s. I know there has to be more to be discovered. I want less then 3 hours but I think I'm dreaming unless something big appears.

Am about to finish this game off and will look into running this as well, the damage difference between normal and easy is pretty big Tongue

Recorded this tonight.  Sorry for the bad quality I dont have a capture card yet :/,  anyway I was able to swim around the OoB area next to the dam, Joel is pretty hard to control and get srtuck in a corner and keeps swimming that way no matter what.  I messed around a little more later while not recording and was actually able to siwm all the way up the dam and behind it by diving and surfacing very close tot he edge of the OoB area.  But in the end I wasnt able to skip anything or progress, but maybe you guy can find something useful.
Damn, I guess embedding doesnt work on here? heres the link:
1-Up!
If you just post the link (without the url shortener, iirc), it will embed automatically.

We were discussing this a page or two ago. You can hold aim and turn immediately left to not fall off. You can walk pretty far up, or you can drop down and see where the pallet is hidden out of site. The black sections are where you can walk/swim, if you go outside of that you can't do anything.

No, it works fine still. There hasn't been any beneficial oob discovered yet, though.
I did another run recently, got a 3:51:58. Still had at least 5 minutes of dumb mistakes.

Found this video on Twitch and it's interesting. He gets pushed under the water while he's reloading and/or switching weapons. Maybe we could get through some areas faster if we figured out how to do it.

I think this one might be area specific, because it happened to me too. On the bright side, it's also probably easy to replicate.

I might decide to try running this game, but it might be a little while before I start to do so. I kinda wanna play it again on Survivor difficulty and have a Survivor+ option for later down the road.

Will def. be checking out holydiverj in the meantime and also some of the previous runs in my own time to learn what's been found and the tricks etc. etc.
For anyone interested Holy is doing a 24 hour TLOU speed run marathon on twitch today he's going to attempt to do 6 or 7 runs of the game.
Hi !

I know a french gamer who make a speedrun of this game in 03h21min

i don't have this game, i don't watch all of the vidéo.

what you think about ? Thanks

So, after awhile of contemplating it, I've started actually running this game. Done two runs, got my time to 4:15 but I know there's tons of places I just screwed up in (Pitt and Hospital mostly).

Pondy - Watched most of the video. One thing I noticed is it seems he's doing  a New Game+ run. I don't speak French so I'm not certain but I never see him upgrade but he's got double weapons slots and all his weapons are upgraded. Still, there's some interesting things in there. Thanks for the post. I'm gonna try to watch more of it later.

Anyways, on my second full run, I ran across an odd glitch (I think its a glitch, at least) and I'm not sure I've seen it posted before. It was near the end of Bill's Town, where you have to push the truck. I pushed the truck out to the first wave of infected and got turned around while fighting. I noticed the dialogue was continuing as if the truck was still moving but paid it no mind. But I turned around and the truck was all the way down the hill without me pushing it and turned on, ready to go! I have no idea how this happened but it saved a ton of time. I've tried replicating it but no luck so far. Has this happened to anyone else?

A question. What's people's thoughts of when/where to upgrade? I originally was going far without upgrading anything, but manually changing guns got pretty old especially when I'd be using the bow for stealth but get noticed and need the shotgun or rifle. So, I'm upgrading at least the long barrel. I've been trying to get it in Bill's Town as there's a moment where you have to wait on Bill to make the nail bomb and there's an upgrade station nearby, but I have trouble getting the required 75 parts. Anyone got any advice? Certain Shiv Doors to open?

Hope to see more on this game, it's been a lot of fun running it so far.
So, I hate to double-post but I wanted to share what may be a new despawn that I haven't seen posted yet. It's occurred to me twice now although I've yet to find how it is caused exactly. It takes place in Pittsburgh, following the bookstore. It's at the part where you first engage the truck and have to run from it, right before you meet Sam and Henry. In these two instances, the truck and all the hunters didn't spawn so I was able to just run across the street, through and alleys, and up across the ledges. The truck finally shows up at the part where you are sneaking across the ledges and Joel remarks about it not being able to see them. Man, really wish I had my cap card so I could've recorded these but that will have to wait. Has this despawn happened to anyone else? It'll be pretty helpful if I or someone else could find out how to force it.

In other news, I finally got sub 4! This is without the Bus Depot despawn as well as I haven't practiced it enough to really trust it just yet.

That's great to hear you're picking up this game, Watts!  It was sad to see holy stop working on it.

Do you stream, and if so what's your twitch id?

My twitch is IncognitoWatts, but I'm currently waiting on my cap card. Should start running on Twitch in a week or two.

Is Holy done with the game? If so that's too bad. I only caught a few of his runs before he began doing other games. I haven't seen an TLOU runners on Twitch. Do you stream?

I remember one time something similar happened and I was able to skip fighting one group of enemies there. I don't why it happened.

I also know somebody was able to despawn enemies in the library before - saw a video of it on Youtube but I couldn't recreate it. I think there's a lot of potential for despawning tricks in this game.

Ha, I just went back and watched that "bus depot" video, scaryice. I had to remind myself how to do the bus depot spawn. That guys was super cautious.

I agree, it looks like despawns are going to be a big part of future runs. I wonder if you could listen to the system itself to tell when you were walking past loading triggers (this is very similar to how people found loading triggers in Metroid Prime).

Definitely agree with you guys about despawns being huge. A library despawn would be great. The listening to the system sounds interesting. I just gave my PS3 a good cleaning, but before that any time there was a loading trigger it got real loud so that may work. I noticed in the two times I've gotten the truck despawn, a good sign of it is the L3 symbol not loading once the bridge is seen. I thought that may have something to do with it and tried avoiding looking at the bridge, but no luck so far.

This makes me realize how valuable being able to record runs can be. Being able to look back and see what things were specifically done prior to a random despawn could be super helpful towards finding the key towards forcing these. I may hold off on any runs til the weekend when I get my capture stuff set so I don't miss anymore random time savers.

In other news, got 3:42:12 just a few minutes ago. I haven't been putting any effort into getting any despawns yet, as I've got a time goal in mind of just normally running the game before I start trying that. (Also, today reminded me that I still suck horribly at Hosptial -_- )
