This game has a ways to go before it can have a decent speedrun, but I figured the conversation must start at some point, right? The route should be nailed down first, but I did find an interesting oversight on NG's part.

I found a very easy to explore out of bounds site. If you want to try it out, it's beyond easy. Right after you enter Tommy's hydro electric power plant, he will be trying to show you around. There will be a gated off area with a few workers in it. Around the perimeter, there will be some boxes with barbed wire strung atop them. You can climb them as normal, pass through the barbed wire, and enter the otherwise inaccessible area. You will clip through most things in there. I was able to get Joel to enter into a falling state by jumping onto the "not box" items around the perimeter. This eventually lead to death. I'm not as talented as some glitch finders here, so I couldn't find anything further, but something cool could possibly come of it. Maybe a clipping glitch, or some loading zone abusing glitch.

It's an amazing game, and I hope it becomes a staple of this community.

I've also been interested in how this game will be runnable. I know in the ruined building where you encounter your first set of Runners plus the one Clicker, you can glitch OoB and fall into the next checkpoint, bypassing quite a few minutes of gameplay.
How do you do that, Traison?

This isn't my recording btw.

There are a few fights that can be run past.

- Early on, from what I remember, when you first encounter Infected enemies with Tess, you can run past them, up the stairs, past the infected zone so Joel takes off his mask, and move over to where you'd normally get a prompt to move a piece of debris.  You still need to kill the Infected to open the door, but it ends up being faster because you can just headshot them while they're running towards you, and at any rate you'd be right near the exit when it happens.
- When Marlene joins your party and you have to "sneak" into the dam, you can just run past everyone and enter the door, which doesn't need NPC help.  Tess and Marlene will warp to your location.
- The final two groups of infected before entering the Firefly labs can be snuck past.  It's slow, but still much faster than fighting three bloaters and huge amounts of Clickers and runners.
It looks like that same technique can be used to go over arbitrary ledges, assuming that there isn't also an accompanying invisible wall.
Huh. I just hit my first in-line loading screen in bills town. Afterwards, the door to trigger the rope trap sequence didn't load, and I could just walk into the garage. Unfortunately, I couldn't progress, because there's a door that needs bill to open.

Also, I've had strange things happen with things not loading after prerendered cutscenes. Tess's Hair didn't load at one point, and also ellie's model didn't load in during the sequence where she kills david. If this could be used to get something important to unload, that might be useful.
Seems like its possible to force the game to load and maybe unload certain areas based on your positioning and other factors. I remember in the university I was at I think the second generator, the one surrounded by about 6 runners, and activated the generator. Instead of going through the door your supposed to I went back through the hallway you entered from and it had to load the previous area. No clue if anything can be made of that.
Pewableshift discovered the oob glitch in chapter 2. And he has a video showing how to do the glitch

I do plan to speedrun this game, and I'm also looking for skips/glitches. There was this guy I talked to who claims to ran the game in 5 hours. He told me he found glitches and a skip that saved 30 mins. I'm waiting on his recording of his runs.
Damn 5 hours makes it seem like there are some huge skips, I would like to see this video as well.
Did anyone attempt a run of this game yet?

Couple small things. In Bill's Town, when he goes to hack the infected that's stuck in the wall, you can just shoot it before he gets there. Later in SLC, when Ellie gets attacked by the clicker and you have to attack it through the hole in the fence, you can just kill it before boosting her over.

Edited to add: Also, when you're defending the Cabin with Ellie, you don't have to help David move the thing against the wall and then get grabbed by the clicker.

Pew's trick in chapter 2 seems to be a little finicky on placement. I tried it three times, and no dice. Joel fell slightly different each time too. One time I landed on something relatively shallow and died, another time I fell all the way down but missed the black square completely, and in another I hit it dead on. I'll try some more on my next playthrough, but just so everyone knows, it's not as cut and dry as it seems.

BTW Pew, Nice trick! It only took me a couple of minutes to learn. Super easy. Any tips on doing it as fast as possible though? On a couple of tries, it took me only 10 or so seconds, but on other attempts it has taken me a full minute. I a little consistency would be nice.

Thanks Caveberry.

I have 2 news things, but useless... for now at least.

You can dive if you drop a smoke bomb, run towards the edge then use select right before falling, the smoke bomb has to explode right when you push select, not while you are already looking at the bag.

At the beginning of the hyro-thing, where are Tommy and his wife, you will dive underwater but will be stuck in the floor. If you do that else where, you will just dive at the bottom then go up... Still tyring to find something with it.

Also, drop a smoke bomb then grab a ladder, when the smoke bomb explodes, the ladder will "fly" away... I'm sure it can help somewhere. Too bad you don't have the smoke bomb early in the game though. Still trying to find something with it too!

Of course, I will upload a video soon.
Some people on youtube have posted videos where they are completely immune to melee attacks (and potentially gun attacks, but I haven't seen video of that). There are no videos of people activating the glitch, but it seems to be related to interrupting a clicker's melee animation somehow.

Amazing game and one of which i would be really interested in for a run, only thing I've found so far are skippable fights as previously mentioned, seeing some major OoB gitches makes this so much more interesting Smiley
Do you know if it happened after owning a tool? Like... Smoke bomb? Will try things with Clicker later then...

About all the skippable fights, it is the game which wants it... Even if the game wants us to be sileeent in the first place. Most of them can be done by running. Ellie is not a snail, it's cool.

This is the video that I'm basing most of my assumptions on. It's in the area right after the molotov.
Found another oob on the Tommy's Dam chapter, right before Ellie's high five. It's in the corner near the shiv door, next to the railing. You can climb up on the concrete there.

Cool! I'm pretty close to there on my survivor playthough. I'll check it out. Were you able to replicate my OoB?
Yeah, I could do yours no problem. So with this new one, I ended up in some invisible water, getting pushed by the current for 10 minutes with no way to die or do anything. Eventually just restarted the checkpoint.

Also, I found another oob spot in that same chapter. In the part where you fight the guys over the water, there's a upper and lower platform. You can run off the top platform and fall into the water, where you then can around a little bit.

Oh, there's another minor thing - right before going through the gate to meet Tommy, there's a stop sign in the area you can climb up on from behind (though you fall off immediately). I wonder if you could do that with other signs...
If you have the time, can you take pictures or something of everything? Need to try your stuff...
Climb up that corner:

There's a hidden pallet here:

When you grab it, the pallet disappears but you still look like you're holding on to something and your movement is pretty glitchy. If you let go and then try to trigger the cutscene pallet (the one you free underwater), nothing happens. So some kind of programming shortcut to just hide it out of sight.

Wow, I wonder why Tommy's chapter is so OoB ridden, when the rest of the game seems air tight.

My survivor run was unstoppable until I hit the town sniper section, now I don't know what to do...
The guy who said he finished the game in 5 hrs said the skips/glitches got patched in the update.

As for the sniper town, go to the left side, it's much safer.
