Did we leave him or savedhim? What a question... Everybody should die if it was for me. The damn team is a major pain in the butt in most important missions. They're absolutely useless.

Anyway, update: zabb65 apparently can't record demos, so he's technical support. I will record with fraps, so that's no problem. I have a run done, and it is in the editing process. Probably I'll not sumit it though as we're already talking about a faster way. The big issue at the moment is my hard drive, which is dead, but the new one is coming some time soon (I hope). Then I'll have a go at the game, this time also with less segments.

The question is fine. One may decide to show off how to save him quickly without much sacrifice on time at all. Plus, a game may have consequences that could make further missions more difficult, depending on your earlier actions. Now, I don't remember if not saving this guy affects anything or if it takes too long. It has been years since I played it. Hence, the question. Wink

I agree about the team though, they just get in the way.  Grin

That's the funny thing. It does not have any consequence, except for different in-game comments by the team. Either way somebody will complain (Telsia or Seven), so you might as well let him die.

I am interested in the new death-abuse category since the missions on Voyager are horribly long and boring, and can be cut short by shooting your own team mates. All of this should get us a lot closer to the 1:15 mark.

For the 2 people interested in this run: my hard drive is on the way and should be here before the end of the week. Then the run will be resumed.

If it doesn't have any consequences - great. But you'd better be sure!  Grin

Hey, still waiting to see the speedrun. So, keep at it. Smiley
I wonder how speedrunners have real lives...
Run is still in progress, should be a little while, we encountered some game save bugs that make this game incredibly strange to speedrun because when you load a non autosave and die, it loads a file called autosave even if thats not the right save to load from, causing some extremely weird and whacky things to happen.  Essentially if somebody exploited this you could start the first level, kill yourself and fight the final boss.

That'd be a great sppedrun. I might do one jsut for the fun of it.

About the real thing - I just did a very good level 9, but will proboably redo the last part (The Array - messiest level of the whole game). After that there is another Voyager mission against invading bugs, and then it's off to the last level.

Hehe, keep at it guys! Smiley

But hey, despite all the annoying things in the game, I hope you're at least having fun playing it and trying tricks and such! Smiley

I remember I always disliked Neelix on the show, so once in the game, just for a moment, I enabled a cheat in the mess hall, so I had all the weapons, and shot Neelix and all the crew that was there.  I used that umm, "lightning gun" (don't recall what it's called in the game). Grin

The game will stop if you shoot teammates. I did it, too though, when a segment failed.
Anyway, the run is done and off to encoding and all the other things. I guess it'll be around 1:15, I also won't do the timing myself. Tongue Right, now I'm off for a few days.
I wonder how speedrunners have real lives...
Ooh cant wait to get the dvds, 23gb is what he said :-D

I get to time, encode, and upload this big bastard to radix
YEAH!
Whatever happened with this run? Was it ever uploaded anywhere?
Semi-retired FPS expert
Zabb compressed some of it, and soon he should get the last DVD which didn't work in the last bunch. After that it's pretty much up to him. It couldn't have been uploaded since it's still 23gb big...
But it's done, and depending on whether it gets accepted and how fast Zabb is it'll be on sooner or later.
I wonder how speedrunners have real lives...
I have all segments encoded in both resolutions except the missing segment, I cant time it till I get the last run, but other than that it should be done and uploaded in about a week.

Hopefully at least.

Hate a bump a thread this old, but in the spirit of progress the run is done and encoded, I am just giving radix time to cut down on his workload some.

Will probbably upload to some sort of service if people show interest.
I love speedrunning and revealing bugs
Well, I´m interested in...  Grin

That gun had two names!-
single player- 'Dreadnought Weapon'
multiplayer- 'Arc Welder'

I am very interested in watching this run.

Now it all starts to make sense. Zabb was always talking about the Arc Welder and I never quite got what he meant... Anyway, as far as I was informed it might go up after Christmas.

Time to bump this old thread up. The run might go on the "who can verify?" list soon, so if there are any volunteers keep checking it out and let Radix know.

Yea, I looked it up later on their web site. It's been a while since I played it. However, I now remember I always called it "Arc Welder" back when I played it, single or multiplayer.

Good to see that this run might see the light of day. Smiley

And we got a step closer last week to seeing the light of this run. It might go up some time soon after all. Maybe that'll inspire me enough to try to give EF2 a go, but I can't promise anything.
Long live SF64!
I just found this thread, and I'd be willing to watch the run for sure!  I used to have the game and played all the way through on 2 different difficulties, and then worked at getting medals or whatever by playing the holodeck simulations...

Fun game! I lent it to a friend who like moved or something so I don't have it anymore, but I will watch the run for sure!  Way to go and thanks for your dedicated effort. It's cool to see that you are working together.

Good luck on getting it through the queue!
You got a deletion wish?
Ditto for me as well.

Thanks guys. You must be referring to EF2, because EF1 didn't have that sort of medal collecting. I might do hard mode on EF1, or nothing at all. Can't get my head around to it. Let's see when this run goes up and go on from there.
Long live SF64!
I never had Elite Force 2, never even seen it.  It was the multiplayer type thing in Elite Force 1 except you could have computer simulated opponents.  It had maps from the game as well as ficticious maps like a big castle.  If you mastered the challenge on whatever AI difficulty you had set, you passed it or got a commendation or something... it was a while back, but I remember arc welding holo-enemies in their spawn locations on one level...And you could get the photon cannon or whatever and just waste people...there was online play too...

Long live SF64!
BUMP!

I'd like to see if there's any further interest in the Elite Force games.

I recently acquired both games, and I've just finished playing back through EF1.  I used to own it ages ago, so this is my 3rd or 4th time through.  I'm very much looking forward to Elite Force 2.  From what I hear its a better game, and as a die hard Voyager fan I certainly appreciate the better looking characters!

I really don't think I'm the one cut out to work on runs for these games because I'm very inexperienced at PC first person shooters.  However, I love Star Trek Voyager and I'm very excited to have these games - so I'd love to contribute to planning a run and I might give it some practice myself.

I'm about to re-read the thread to see where things are at, but anyone who's interested feel free to contribute your thoughts or efforts.  A speedrun of these games would be great!  I think there's still a good bit of online activity for FS2, so maybe a future speedrunner is out in a fan club somewhere.

Anyone interested in reviving the topic?

EDIT:
So wait... a run was made forever and a half ago and supposedly arrangements had been made to encode it and get it sent off to Radix... so... does anyone know what happened?

EDIT2:
Ok, JediTry hasn't posted in 6 months and Zabb hasn't posted in like 10 months (the ones working on the run before) ...so I'm guessing they aren't around.
