Those two requirments ensure that you will end up opening paths to all the toad houses. You get to them either along the road, through a secret exit, or behind a star coin sign.

correction... my only missing toad house is the one in world 4 right at the start. its definitely not in 4-1 (as i run through that all the time, it being one of my favorite levels due to the massive combo i can pull off :P), and i doubt its in the water level or the castle.

-you dont need to visit all toad houses, just unlock the paths to them, if i understand correctly.

The secret exit is in 4-1, in the second half of the stage. Jump around when you are on top of high blocks.

Well, here we are :-/

Unfortunately I had some issues with autofocus and reflection from the screen (Hi! lol), so this run didn't quite make it to speeddemosarchive.com

It is however, a sub 24 minute run (from the moment you gain control to the moment you lose control), and contains few mistakes. It's a shame I clipped Dry Bowser in 8-castle because the next level is one of my best and is impressive to watch when done properly (I had to use my reserve flower as I've no idea how to do that level as small mario). Also..I don't know WHAT was going through my head during that 1-1 mistake. Bizarre.

Thanks to Tom_Batchelor for his help, and hopefully I'll get a chace to fix the above problems soon. Enjoy for now.

Wow that was amazing. Too bad about the glare. That looks pretty hard to top, even without the camera blocking your view. Again, nice job!

Watched Parts 1 and 3 of chronorox's run. (Part 2 wouldn't load for some stupid reason, so I'll have to try later.)

Very impressive...8-Tower2 was TAS quality, with all the various ways you tried to entertain us. Wink

It's a shame there isn't a fast way to get through that level. The run's definitely improvable--a few seconds here and there can probably push the run down to under 23'30"--but it's looking very solid for 20 levels of gameplay.

Just letting every1 know that today,I did a single segmant run on this game with 2 deaths,and got 31:11. I didn't record it though.I will try to improve this, record it,and eventually send it to the Site. I will post my best neccesery level times that i will be aiming for after I write them down.

This might be a lot to ask, but Nate, would you be willing to take a look at one of the videos (page 9 of the thread) and see if the video quality might be acceptable if the glare problem could be worked out? And see if there is anything else specific Chronorox should be doing to improve the quality?

I really hope you can work out the minor issues remaining as for the video quality. This may be a dumb suggestion, but would playing in a very dark room be feasible?

Thanks for the support and criticism guys, every bit helps.
I will hopefully try again in the next few weeks (uni is very full on right now unfortunately), it's just a shame I didn't pick up on the two easily fixable mistakes before doing the run, as other than that...I'm sure the quality would have been great

Good luck celebi, you should definately practice individual level runs a hell of a lot before attempting a single segment run to match mine. You'd need to improve by 7 minutes and eliminate any deaths to match it, but If you need any tips, consult my vid and best of luck Smiley

Thx chronorox.I watched your run a couple days ago.To tell you the truth,your run inspired me to do one.All I need is a decent video camera(I can borrow one from my Aunt hopefully :o)and I should be good to go.I have a lite,and a room i know that I can make pitch black.I'm going to practice some of the levels now.

Good job on the run. I thought the last castle was especially good. Really nice jumping and control. Hopefully sometime in the future you can get a better quality recording of it.
