Timeshift is an interesting game, because you can control time and that makes every fight more interesting. I think you can do a good speedrun in it, most of the time there are gunfights which you can only master when you control the time.
I tested speedrunning the first level and I could do it in about 6 minutes, in the first level you dont have the time control and you have to wait everywhere, but I think it would be very interesting to see a complete speedrun of the later levels.

Is anyone else interested to see that?

I haven't played the game, but I've heard about it. I would definitely watch a run of it, however. Depending on how the time control works, there might be a lot of opportunity for tricks and glitches to save time.

Go for it, and see what you can find.

Hi there

I played the game few times and there is a problem with trying to make anything that might resemble a shortcut: Invisible walls, there tons of them everywhere. Another annoying thing is that if you jump out of some places, you die, you die in the air!

Most part of the time you just have to do what you are supposed to do, so it all falls in how you use your time powers.

I can't think of anything to improve them rather than small "slightly faster" ones like when you get to the end of level 2 and the guy says "you are the one that saved mills" or something, push him from the left, as soon as he moves you can pass... or at the beginning of the level try to get stuck in the middle of both guys that smash the door..

But those are just very small things, however... have you tried to just "run for it" when at the first level you have to run to the sewers? (when you see the first ammo crate) I have tried a few times and always got killed, except when i cleared the first area bit (the ones on the windows) then with bit of luck you can make it.

Also on level 3 when on the first park after the sewer, cant you also just run for it? instead of shooting guys in the turret. I'm a bit of kamikaze myself I passed the game just avoiding everything Grin

E: I remember making the demo (which is level 2) in 4 minutes or so, of course you get the thunderbolt right away Grin

I tried your tips before, but the most of the game is triggered Sad

And in most cases I have to kill some people on the battlefield or I wont survive.
I cant just run through either because the time energy would be empty after half of the track. I had a hard time to survive the first place in level 3 Cheesy

Level 4 is done. If you ask why I didnt just rush through in the end: the button for the door wont work until the soldiers in the truck are dead...

Why don't you use this little, simple and small passage:

It's around 0:50 secs, i checked the video again and you are pretty good on health and time powers, and on this one you CAN run for it xD I actually tested it to be sure Tongue

I know I don't give much help, but it's because your gameplay is very good Wink

On level 5 (i guess its level 5) right in the beginning, you kill those 3 first guys and don't hit the switch, do this instead:

that will prevent the first huge wave of enemies, but not the second one (when the truck rushes you to road kill you) I haven't manage to find another way to pass the moving crane Angry

Everything is pretty much straight forward from there... you can pass the lasers in one run with time slow.

Ok, thanks for your tips, I already gave up level 5 for today because there were too many enemies for that few time Roll Eyes

I will try your tricks tomorrow. I think sometimes I overestimate my time powers when I kill enemies, tanks und push buttons simultaniously Grin

Update: I still felt like I had to cut 18 seconds from level 4 Grin

How I didn't thought about that, i have seen that kind of thing on quake many times Grin

It will def be useful for later too Grin

I already found more shortcuts (pretty hard ones), but some will shave off few minutes... but they are for bit more advanced levels, everything is very straight forward from level 5, until the snow levels come... i will post them when the time comes I guess Wink

So.... I finally finished level 5, it was very hard because that time reverse is so uncontrollable and the movements change.

But I think I did it quickly enough, even though I thought ingame the video would be about 5 minutes Lips Sealed

I think that as soon as you pull the switch for the moving crane, you can run to it and then use time reverse just once. Talking about time reverse:

Here is another shortcut for a level i found:

If you remember the map, you have to kill the guys up, then the door opens and some more guys come... then you go to other room and you have to use a computer then in the end you go back to the main hall but you are upstairs.... well after killing the guys up and the ones when the door opens, i did this and for some moments i thought that nothing was going to happen... until all of the sudden enemies came... you have to kill the ones up so the left door opens (there is another guy inside) and you completely skip the first computer.. (u may save few minutes)

Now to go up its very random, sometimes the green barrel will go down in the first explosions, and sometimes you have to put it down like i did... even then its random but its easy once its down...

this happens later on the levels but Wink

Ok, thanks for your tips, but I think I will concentrate more on the next levels now, your level is quite in the end of the game I think Tongue

It didnt make any sense to kill the 2 enemies in the beginning because after time reverse I actually did never kill them Shocked

It is already?!!The game confuses me Grin

Hm...I think I have to kill the enemies first before I can get up with the barrel... There is a trigger which spawns 3 more soldiers there and I practically have no time powers left when I reach the top without taking out the enemies :-/
And ~10 soldiers against me in real-time is too hard Tongue

yes, you pretty much have to clear the way first... still i think it saves a lot of time (or at least its a faster way for sure)

Sometimes its annoying because they just run for cover and they don't pop up fast :-/

I been thinking about letting 1 enemy alive (one on the upper level) so the other 3 that spawn (the ones that open the door) won't appear... It could work... maybe Wink

Depends, are you looking for challenge? Because even if you put the higher difficulties the enemies are very easy to kill with the time powers...

you get some puzzles that you have to solve using them, but nothing spectacular, when you are stuck, it has to be time shifting moment Smiley

It looks good, its fun, and you never get tired of the time powers at all Wink

If you like a good and long first person shooter with some tricky time powers and a good story, Timeshift is your game Wink

Most of the time you are in gunfights, so its more an action game than a strategy game or something.

I think I will finish that level 6 today or tomorrow, I dont have much time today...
And I think the 3 enemies will spawn when I go into the trigger no matter if I kill all soldiers before or not :-/ Btw the trigger is near the door you would usually come out.

Level 6 is done.
It is not perfect because the fight with the soldiers is actually more luck than predictable shooting...

I think its still a pretty good time, a pretty good first look at the level Wink

Look at around 38-39 seconds on the video, thats a green barrel falling Grin

I don't remember your status on health/powers (EDIT: They were pretty good) but.... it's a barrel!! Grin

I thought about finding the way to shoot the explosives in order to always get a green barrel to fall... but I guess that's random too :-/

Level 7 was pretty easy comparing to level 5 and 6, its done 8)
I found a shortcut myself which saved about 0.5-1 minute I think.

How you perform the grenade jump? you jump? Im stuck at a level... the big hangar witht he tanks remember? im working on skipping it completly but i cant reach the point i want... now you did quite a big jump there.
