The game also features a range of new nasty toys, such as the ability to unleash a puppy from Nintendogs that will run up to the screen, put its paws up and obscure the view of the action. Mario, Kirby, Pikachu and Link have been confirmed as returning characters. Sakurai confirmed that Wario actually has a fart attack and that Solid Snake can use his trusty cardboard box. In the video trailer, Snake gets out of the box and says "It's showtime!"

"We thought a lot about what to do with Snake and his moves in Super Smash Bros. Brawl," said Sakurai. "As you all know Snake walks around with a gun, but with Super Smash Bros. I didn't want to bring in a lot of real weapons. So that was a real challenge. But conversely, if we could use things like rocket launchers and other explosives, not only would that be fitting for Snake, but it would work for the other characters. But who knows. Maybe Snake will exclusively use explosives throughout the game."

Sakurai said the decision to include Solid Snake when Hideo Kojima himself practically "begged" to include the Metal Gear character in the last Smash Bros. game. When asked about the possibility of Sonic the Hedgehod appearing in the game as well, Shigeru Miyamoto said: "There are probably possibilities for other third parties as well, and it maybe that even know there are corporate discussions going on about including some of these other characters."

It will be so awesome to be able to use Snake's box in Smash Bros.  That could be hilarious.

I see Snake's inclusion in the game as poetic justice after Sony's attempt to copy the Wii controller. The fact that the PS3 had a new MGS in the works was one of its few redeaming factors in light of the price... but now he's on the Wii as well, and in a sequel to the GameCube's best selling game, on a platform that will likely be less than half the price of Sony's. GG Sony.

So... what button combo lets you break a person's neck?
PIKACHU!!! GO FOR THE JUGULAR BEFORE SNAKE DOES!
I think one of Snake's alternate colors should be Raiden.

As cool as this sounds, in my mind it looks kind of wierd because Snake will be miniaturized and somewhat cartoonish.  What will his jump look like?

Eeyes...  because Snake in that pic TOTALLY looks miniaturized and cartoonish.  Just like Link, Zelda, Ganondorf, Samus, Captain Falcon, Marth, Roy, and to a certain extent, Bowser all looked disproportionate and cuddly-fied in Melee.

Were you actually serious? Huh?
King of hearts
When you're actually playing the game, the camera is farther away.  His movement will also be sped up a bit like all the other characters, so it'll make it look somewhat cartoonish.  I didn't mean cell shaded or anything like that
Rock on, Earthbound. Rock on.
My statement stands.  I don't think it'll make a difference.

Well said. I'm getting a Wii for this and Twilight Princess, they are big attractions to the console.

I don't think it's a bad thing (note the picture indicating the roxorsness!!1 of the idea).

I'm also really wondering how Snake's jump animation is going to look like.  Especially his second jump and his up B.  I know I'll be using his grab a lot, the neck snap might be his down throw!
I'm the keeper of Time.
Maybe it will be a paralyzer, leaving the opponent motionless for a few seconds?

Yes, I do need to copy/paste this post from the Nintendo conference thread to this one.

HOLY
FUCKING
CRAP!!

Yes, I'm late. Screw that.

HOLY
FUCKING
CRAP!!!

My friend told me about this at lunch time, but I was like "What the fuckHuh" but now that I've seen the video, it all makes sense...

HOLY
FUCKING
CRAP!!!

Let's see; a few new characters revealed (of course, some of them will be kept secret untill you actually unlock them), freakin' Super moves, Characters from other freakin' gamesHuh HOLY CRAP.
I just hope that Nintendo can convince random great companies (SquareEnix, Sega, Capcom, Treasure, Rare) to let them use their characters or random stuff.

Metaknight looks like he(she?) makes many hits or many attacks with one press, Pit looks like a Link re-mate (maybe a total Do-over if we're lucky), Suitless Samus should us what the bloody hell that gun was good for, Wario has farting humour (I hate that, his normal humour was great ><), SOLID FREAKIN' SNAKE will probably have the box as a shield (though some people mentioned it), though I'm still a bit skeptical for how he's actually fight (but if Nintendo can make Captain Falcon fight well (very well), there aren't really any doubts). And I also noticed that Nintendo is going "Old Link = Awesome mature looking, Young link = Cell-shaded different kind of awesomeness" so if Young Link is in the game, I'm pretty sure he'll be cell-shaded.

And again,
HOLY
FREAKIN'
CRAP!!!!1

I'm excited by the fact that Wario is wearing his Wario Ware style clothes. Can you imagine a Wario Ware themed stage? Changes every 5 seconds Shocked

That would be like the Pokemon Stadium stage in SSBM, except faster (I would stay bad; the Pokemon stage's changing speed was very good.) or like the Game & Watch stage (Worst stage in SSBM)

Though WarioWare themed, just not the minigames, would be great.

I hope the stages are good. That's what I disliked most about SSBM.

New characters- Miyamoto, and God!
Miyamoto can use the Revmote lightsaber, PS3 controller boomerang, and Xbox... uh... like a brick I guess... throw it at people and stuff...
God can wipe out existence, never lose, and... deny any involvement with the war in Iraq. Lips Sealed
Just ignore me.
Rock on, Earthbound. Rock on.

K, I'll bite, why didn't you like the Melee stages?  A few were stinkers, like Brinstar Depths (too easy to get stuck on awkward terrain/under the stage), and Great Bay (that overhang ledge made cheap kills way too easy), but most of them I rather enjoyed, particularly the roaming path stages like Mario's Rainbow Cruise and Pokémon Floats, just because they were so much more active than anything else.

No Hyrule Castle stage.  That stage (from the original SSB) with the spinning tornado was the best level ever.

A level that is long (in length) and interactive is my favorite type of level.

I had to settle for Star Fox's ship in SSBM.

They had to give an unlockable Yoshi's Island, but not Hyrule Castle!  Lips Sealed
I'd like to see the return of the individual intros. Like in SSB 64, each character had their own entrance, Kirby flying in on a star, or Mario rising out of a warp pipe, ect. As opposed to SSBM's dull and unimaginative toy statue to fighting figure entrances. Seriously, what was that about?

I know exactly what you mean.  It's the little things that makes a game go from great to amazing.

3, (Kirby flies in)  2, (Mario pipe)  1,  Fight!

Awesome!
