Why have I not seen any one of the at least 14 versions of Kuros on those lists?

That would be insane.

I think I can see where this will end up, so I'll say it already. They might as well make a game that includes all videogame and cartoon characters duking it out. Then at least everyone will have someone to cheer for, although the bickering over relative power levels among the characters would be endless.

Surely you know Kuros, the hero of the excellent Wizards & Warriors series. Okay, I admit that the second one and the GB one were crazy, but I liked the other two. The third one is seriously competing with LoZ for my favorite NES game.

That's false(I saw that screen), and you shouldn't trust anything you see about this game that's not from the official site or a source like 1up.com(I.E. reliable and established) as there are a ton of people who have a ton of time on thier hands who just photoshop false characters and such.

Also, if you pay close attention, the font on that screenshot differs slightly from that used for the other characters.

To be in SSB, you need to have been in AT LEAST two games, not including spin-offs.

Marth and Roy both have been in a grand total of ONE Fire Emblem series game, and in fact, when Melee was released, Roy's FE game HADN'T BEEN RELEASED YET (IIRC). Dr. Mario has only ever been in one game (minus spin-offs), though your mileage may vary on the interpretation of him as a seperate character. Ice Climbers have only ever been in one game, as has Pit, both during the NES era. Ganondorf in his human form had only been in one game before the release of Melee, and before that game, had been known as Ganon, and was a giant pig demon thing. Shiek has only been in one game as well. Ness comes from Earthbound, and no more.

That's eight characters in the Smash series so far that have made Smash their second true game appearence that wasn't a spin-off or rerelease of an older game. Minus Pit, that represents more than a quarter and almost a third of the cast of Melee that were one-game wonders, only one of which was in the previous game. That number may well increase with X/Brawl coming up. Get the facts straight.

There was a Kid Icarus sequel on GameBoy, and Pit also appeared in Tetris for GameBoy (which probably doesn't count).

Huh. I didn't know about that KI sequel. was it a legit sequel and not just a port? Good for him. Pit aside, my point regarding melee still stands. Thanks for the info, Arrow.

While it's not officially been announced, It's been revealed on a japanese radio show that two new characters will be introduced.
Bowser Jr and Ridley.
Also, Young Link's design has been replaced by TWW Link and Ice Climbers and G&W are being taken out.

Regardless, official or not, those three characters were easy ones to see coming. Bowser Jr. is probably the most suprising of the three, but not by much.

I REALLY hope that Ice Climbers and (moer to the point), G&W stay in the game. I LOVE the bleepy little madman, and the IC tag-team stuff was fun, even if they were frustrating to fight at times. Here's hoping...
