Now I'm learning about the game this week as much as you guys are, so here's a couple of things I've learned:
* Like Zenic said, if you do a super dive and hit A and right just before hitting the ground, you'll go shooting off to the right. * Relatedly, momentum stays with you in the air, ie. there's no noticable drag effect. In the air is generally where you're safest from attacks, so it helps to jump a lot. * Don't make the same mistake I did and always do a quick double jump everywhere. It might give you a long and high jump but you're vulnerable from the point your spin stops until you land on the ground again, so don't do this unless you're sure that the area you're going to land on is safe. * You can get a jump on one specific frame after super diving into a wall, rather than just a spin. This allows you to skip the second wall-walker boss in 2-2 - I guess you could theoretically skip the first one too, but I wouldn't rely on it (the positioning's far worse on that one). * A big one that helped me: most of the enemies in the game drop useless items (for bonus points at the end of a level). In 3-2 enemies drop life. With this knowledge you should find it simple to reach the boss with a full complement of six life, and in so doing beat it without losing a life (or one, at worst). * Put a savestate before each of the jetski levels (4-1, 4-2, 6) and practice the hell out of them. Once you get a solid path it's really easy, and you can even do most of it while holding right without any risk. Hint: X had it right when he said to stick to the edges.
2 deaths of lava stages and missed the a dive in caves and 5-1
jetski is super easy if you hung the top part of the level especially 5-2 there are only three things you can hit. a tree and then two whirlpools you can ski straight through the rocks
Edit: just played through to the end. the hugging the top strat sort of works on 6 but be weary of the heli. factory can be tough. as for the last boss he's pretty easy as long as you know the what your doing. heres a quick guide for anyone whose stuck.
when he's firing bombs/balls/baubles? into the air double jump into them to fire them back for damage. when he's doing hadoukins just dodge. after enough damage he goes into ball/shield and floats around the screen. just low kick him everytime hes ground level to damage him. four kicks and he will cower in the corner with shields. then use your hoe/furries dream/squirrel girlfriend to give you a boost and dive into him for the final blow.
I've trouble with the lumberjack boss and the factory stage, i keep dying :s jet ski parts are too easy Last boss is verry easy too : jump-dive on him, he will roll on the opposite side, dont wait for him to go there or morph into clown just keep jump-diving from one site to another, you will hit the boss each time without him doing anything beside rolling from one side to another. After that crouch kick him 3 times, then use your friend to jump-dive on him 3 times and he's dead :).
Quick question, when do you start timing? After the crash or before?
dive /faceplant into a wall (jump(B) -> dive (A), dive(A)) then at the right moment press jump (or jump jump) and you'll do a jump(double jump), the window is very short (but is it really 1 frame ?). Its like 2 x double jump near a wall, you can reach higher areas, skipping some parts like the green climbing boss thing.
i cant see much getting much further than this seem to just struggle to much in the factory
edit: something we were talking about in irc, on 5-1 I think it is quicker at the start to head right straight away and double jump your way up the slides though you have to give up life piece in doing so

I saw this strategy in the TAS, do you have to be really quick to pull it off? Every time I tried to attack him he would just zip off to the other side.

Here's something I forgot to say earlier, though I guess it's only relevant now that people are actually getting to level 7... 7-1 is the only level where you get decent use out of the shurikens. Just sit in the left corner of the enemy rooms and throw them, two hits kills the enemies (or maybe 3, I forget). Be aware, though, that you only get 40 total, so don't waste them!
I went very casual though, so my time is 1:36:13 (Over 1 and ½ hours)
You took over 90 minutes and didn't use a continue?
Updating now, though I won't include Baron Dante's for now just to be sure. If you really didn't use a continue, I'll throw you into the next one.
Wallcrawlers: (If you cant use the wallplant trick): You can handle one in less than 30 secs with repeated gliding at them, if taking damage is not a problem.
Stone dogs (things?): Damage doesn't matter on first time, so just keep using the down weapon at them, kills them in ~10 secs. (Second time damage may affect, if you can't handle Batman without damage)
Batman: Gliding is the fastest way on first time, second time you can avoid all damage and use the down weapon.
Ironman: I just keptgliding at him, took near to none damage.
Wolverine: Not the fastest way, butkeeps you unscathed (nearly). Using repeated glides, he will either jump, which you will easily dodge with glide, or take a hit for being too slow with his throwing attack.
Lumberjack (AKA Darth Vader AKA your father): No idea on fast kill, I kept gliding when safe.
Ektor (Seriously, what the fuck?): Spin the bombs back at him, then crouch around the middle of the level. If he uses bombs again, repeat, if he uses the lazarbeemz, you crouching will dodge all attacks.
Ektor 2nd phase (Aka Football): Stay around the middle of the level and use down weapon.
Ektor 3rd Phase (AKA Wimp): Jump onyour friend 3 times and you're done: Can be done in less than 10 secs.
Wolverine: Not the fastest way, butkeeps you unscathed (nearly). Using repeated glides, he will either jump, which you will easily dodge with glide, or take a hit for being too slow with his throwing attack.
Using the TAS tactic of down b, move closer, down b repeatedly works. Very fast and safe.
Congrats to everyone who's beaten this so far, it's a pretty good effort for a weekly. I'm attaching my input file for anyone who's interested (SNES9x 1.51 will play it back).
Quick reminder also that the round ends in almost exactly 18 hours from now: midnight EST is the end of the playing week. Week 2's game will be revealed at this time.
