Updated.

With two hours to go, here's the live scoreboard:

feasel - 17
Baron Dante - 18
mike89 - 19
Diluted - 28

You can still influence the result!
difficult and stupidly random
feasel - ALL - 35:59

This is 55 frames faster than mike's 36:00.

Was really hoping to get a deathless run, but i've got to call it quits for the day.  It's going to be a close one.

Not enough to get past zoonel and make things really interesting, but this should cut feasel's lead back to one point. Let's see one more all clear and make things really interesting!

Updated again.

And that's the tournament over and done with! Thanks to everyone who participated, I hope you all enjoyed yourselves!

Time for a bit of personal reflection. Things I learned:

1. Enhasa is a fucking leet tourney director. I base this on the following statistic: The number of participants in each SDA tourney to date:

SDAAT - 34
Speed - 20

Speed mkII - 9
SSS - 18
SSS #2 - 45
SSS #3 - 27

Of these, the bolded ones were run by Enhasa. I guess I've bucked the trend somewhat, but seriously 45 players that is awesome. I know some people weren't happy with when I ran the tournament, but it worked out really well for me because if I had started any later, a) somebody else probably would have picked up the slack (I know Breakdown was considering it), and b) I would have been no chance of doing anything this week because I'm getting my wisdom teeth out on Wednesday. I only found this out Friday night, but it was certainly fortuitous given how the last 48 hours of the tourney went.

2. Baron Dante is no fluke. He is one amazing player. Do some runs for the site! (That goes double for you, Normand... to quote Mike, Conker's Bad Fur Day doesn't count.)

3. The sleeper in this tourney was definitely Diluted. Coming fourth (third with me excluded) is no mean feat, that's for sure.

4. I need to play more games. Most of my game selections weren't quite as far out of the mainstream as the average SDA tourney, but probably just enough to make it interesting. Jungle Strike was a poor choice, and Zero was arguable, but I think Pac-Attack and Wario Land 4 worked out surprisingly well.

5. ShinerCCC in a separate topic suggested that whoever runs the next tournament should choose some games from the verification thread that aren't getting much love. This is an awesome idea and one that I hope sees some airplay next time around.

See you next mission!
It's a BIG HEAD!
Normand, did you have to beat my time by few second? And did you, mike, have to have 56 frames too slow time for me to win?

Also, Mike, Ganbare Natsuki-san (With me and numerous others) has been accepted and is just waiting to be added to the main page.

Then, from the same gamemaker, Green Island is now ready to be stuffed into a video (luckily someone elese was nice enough to do that part for me xD), and then to be accepted sent to be reviewed. By me.

So you should get my runs to see soonish.

And this is the second time in a row I lost to Feasel by 1 point (Racing for first place :K)

destroy them with lazers
really enjoyed the tourney mike with wario week defiantly being the personal favourite. best rank i've had so far. i said it in irc but ive had a great idea for the next tourney.
Waiting hurts my soul...
well I met my goal of playing each week while getting the highest score. I just wish I could have beaten the first stage in RKA.
fucking .gif....
my RKA run is up:

I would like normand and baron to take a peek at it.  I'm obviously missing something.

disregard the stage 3 boss and stage 4 mishap.
Go play spacechem !
The tournament let me dicover a great platformer : Zero the kamikaze squirrel Smiley
And i still dont understand all the hype about rocket knight adventures  Undecided (same thing for wario land)
Jungle strike is just... awfull, i dont like the game at all
Pac attack was good but totaly unintuitive and unforgivable with mistakes, i still played it a little despite my lack of skill for puzzle games :p

see you for the next tournament Smiley
difficult and stupidly random
Lots of people hating Jungle Strike...

But i have to defend Mike's choice.  I really liked it.  Good mix of strategy and fighting, and the gameplay style is ahead of its time.  This was years before grand theft auto (and the mass of modern games that later adopted the style) but it's basically the same kind of thing:  a (somewhat) non-linear game on a large map, where you carry out a variety of destroy/protect/find/capture missions.

Plus i like the fact that it has the other vehicles, each with distinctive movement and weapons.

If it were up to me, however, i would have chosen speed as the objective rather than score.  Once you've beaten all the missions on a map there's usually enough fuel/ammo/armor left that you can basically spend forever cleaning up every little structure or unit with minimal risk.  So getting a lot of points is less about skill than about having lots of patience and free-time.  (And let's face it: "patience and free-time" week was Wario Land 4).
It's a BIG HEAD!
Hehe, I think I'd have done better in Jungle Strike if I had not downloaded an japanese version -.- Screw that shit, I had to blindly blow stuff up to find what to do before finally start playing.

Kinda liked it though.

I'm still disappointed at my Wario Land still having a bit to optimize -.-

Another Jungle Strike supporter! Yay! Smiley

Well, the actual goal was survival. But the game really isn't hard enough to make ALL a ridiculous feat, so I guess it did kind of turn into score anyway. I agree with you on speed instead, but that's mainly because I want someone to run the game already. Lots of route planning to do, so there's plenty of stuff to work with in that game.

Thanks Feasel, you made me feel bad. Seriously though, this is sadly true. Getting really high scores just takes hours because you roam around looking for stragglers that don't appear on the stupid map. Still, it's fun to do that a few times just to see how high it can go. (Darn it, I never thought to get that IRS building!)
