Found a way to completely skip building the blue bridge on Day 6, so I came up with an any% route using it. It may not actually be faster, though, partially building the bridge needs to be timed (I don't feel like doing it).

Yellow Onion Skip Adventure fun.

I found a small sequence break on Day 2 that lets you skip building the first bridge.

Kinda tricky because you need to change the direction you're holding at the last second toward the bulborb or else you'll end up behind the electric gate, and you have a really tiny window to do that. It also prevents you from being able to get the strawberry, unfortunately. I think it might save time though.
Any tips for twilight river?
I think flowering your winged Pikmin after you have them all in your squad is immensely helpful. A spray is by far the fastest and most convenient way, but if you don't have a spare there's also a nectar dragonfly if you run to the right after you pass the Burrowing Snagret. You'll also want to throw Charlie behind the bag after you drop out of bounds rather than pushing the bag down from below, because that lets you skip pushing down the bag entirely, which makes the Pikmin carrying the boss's body take a safer/probably faster route back to the Onion. Aside from that just follow the route Miles and I used and try to be efficient.
Whats the exact way to get Charlie behind the bag in Twilight River?
I did it twice on accident and screwed up both attempts.

My big problem is getting the Maestro to the winged onion before the day lets up. I'm getting Louie in there, but the Winged Pikmin are slow. Any tips or is it just complete the day faster?
AFAIK just complete the day faster. Sorry :/

So I've been messing around some, here's some of the stuff I've found:

- There's a clipping spot in Alph's crash site in the pond, but you can't get all the way inside the wall; the game ejects you back out.
- I got OoB next to the back entrance to Vehemoth Phosbat and even got a captain up on the ledge with the bag early. Unfortunately it's not like the Tropical Wilds bag where the invisible wall disappears as soon as a captain gets up, the wall doesn't go away. You -can- go around the walls to the left and get past the bamboo gate leading to Shaggy Long Legs, though, so now there's two ways to fight him early. (Actually getting some Pikmin there is a different story... I think it's possible, though.)
- You can get on top of the stone wall that's supposed to be broken by the 20 ball after reuniting Alph and Britney in Distant Tundra, but I don't think you can activate the loading zone from outside unfortunately. It is rather easy to get up though and can be done with just one captain.
- I combined Greenalink's and Miles's tricks in Garden of Hope to get all the way over across the blue bridge early, but the loading zone leading to Quaggled Mireclops is not there.
- I found a really cool OoB in Tropical Wilds that yielded some interesting discoveries; namely, that areas on the map are not actually in the physical location the map shows them in (surprise surprise), and that the skybox just has a flat grey texture unless you switch on camera mode. Might post a video showing how to do it later, but if anyone wants to mess around with it it's super easy and only requires a couple partner throws up on the bridge over the waterway leading toward the Calcified Crushblat (and one clip through the invisible wall after that).

I was playing around in challenge mode and I got this.

Proof that a one cycle is possible, I think I understand how, but it's very RNG heavy. This is my first one cycle without using rock pikmin to deal the last hit.
Nice Raiker! Before seeing that I was totally under the impression that some bosses had certain health thresholds where you could only do so much damage. Doh! Damn Uni is taking up all of my time at the moment, but I'm still lurking around Tongue
Oh Nintendo, you guys are so silly.

Nice score, literally off the charts.

lol

Found this and thought it belonged here.
That guy has a few more Pikmin 3 videos too, though not in english.

I dunno if anyone here cares about Mission Mode, but I just finished these score attacks, and they're technically speedruns too, so.. Tongue

edit: I got past the blue pikmin invisible wall in Garden of Hope. Turns out the loading zone isn't there either til you get blues. The fuck is with this game?

Hi i just managed to platinum all mission mode, so I am ready to start speedrunning the story. So far what is the current record and is there a video of it?

Is there a leaderboard anywhere, if not it might be an idea to add a pikmin 3 leaderboard to the current pikmin leaderboard page here. keep everything together. Thoughts?

also just to confirm we just start from new day right?
and timer starts from pressing 'a' on new day and finishes as soon as plasma wraith death cutscene starts?

The sand slug's loading zone is the same way, right? Quite annoying; it seems any sequence breaks will have to be minor construction skips rather than messing with major events.

No you could get into it but the Meerslug doesn't load until you save Charlie.

I'm pretty sure fastest known time is by Miles, but he didn't make a highlight of it. Probably because he thought the run was bad or something.
I just got 59:41 Any%, it'll be up on YouTube tomorrow.

I start timing when I press "OK" for the warning about overwriting the save later.
...Or that...
Nice run Miles, a lot of tricks i didnt know about.
time to start learning any%.
its going to take me a while to get sub 1hr

also I noticed that you switched to Gamepad controller mid run, any reason why?
you also seem to abuse wiimote nunchuck only things like the whistle distant a lot to call distant pikmin/heroes before entering loading zones. Im much prefer WiiU pro controlls:( guess ill have to switch it up
Get on my level!
So is Miles' time considered WR? Or is there another existing PB that's faster somewhere? Because if this is so, I'll be learning off your run, Miles.

This looks like a very fun game, and both Any% and 100% categories sounds equally as entertaining. I just beat this game a few days ago and found a lot of replayability in the Story Mode.

Speaking of which, does anyone think this could cut AGDQ? I think it'd have a good chance with all the skips and stuff, very fun to watch.
