I live in Sweden so will not be able to come but I wanted to show my interested in getting mitch/inzult to a amrathon, that would be so freaking awesome!
@Morks : Canadian Thanksgiving is "late" this year and is being celebrated October 14th, are you sure that hosting a marathon on thanksgiving weekend is a good idea?
1. It's in-between other marathons and it gives us enough time to plan everything up 2. Thanksgiving will actually provide a day off for students so people can come back on sunday night without worrying about monday.
I can assure that if people want to celebrate thanksgiving with their families, they will have the chance since the event would close at around 5-6pm on Sunday.

I think a Marathon finale culminating in a TGiving dinner would be an awesome way to end it!
We came together for a cause, now we come together at last to give thanks.... Thanksgiving!
I have never said the date had been decided. Things are looking grim for Ottawa but I still need to confirm that. Right now there is a big problem because we need a place to hold the marathon in. I thought that could be done with but sadly there were complications and the places it could have been in in Ottawa are not available. Right now the date is not decided to be Thanksgiving weekend, so I'd like to ask Morks not to distribute that information. Also, who said the marathon would close at 5-6 pm on Sunday? Please don't misinform people.
theenglishman, I'm happy to pick up 2-3 people from some subway stop or other on the way for me, eg York Mills Station. Sort of waiting for firm dates before I go wacky with the planning, but I can toss the idea out there I suppose.

I live right near Yonge and Sheppard, so that would be perfect!
hey guess, im just here to say i have noticed a good chunk of people are really looking into this marathon especially inzult and i because it is our first marathon :p. i know alot of other people are into it as well. i don't want to rush anyone or anything but in order to make all this work we really have to set a date...like now everyone needs to make sure they can get work off and find ways out...its seems like its going to be one of those things where we just decide on where and when and hope for the best....looking for a place to host it is tough but the more things we rule out quickly the more we can focus on the other stuff....im probably wrong about how all this works but this idea really excites me and many other so please keep the thread alive and lets all work together to make something happen...PLEASE, love you all...PEACE!
Hey guys! I've been speedrunning for a little while, but just recently started taking it much more seriously. I just did a 24 hour marathon with a bunch of games and would love to be a part of this marathon! I'm in Toronto, so it's not too far for me.
I would like to run Donkey Kong Country Returns. Estimate is about 1:50:00, but I'm currently working on it, so It will probably be about 5-10 min faster by the time the marathon is on. Thanks! I would prefer November, just saying that!
