Still plenty of room for improvement, but I can see us submitting something around the 30 minute mark. We'll probably keep doing it anyway because it's an absolute riot to play this way. Cheesy

I watched the linked run and it is hilarious and very impressive. I've had conversations like that with my brother while playing games. How often were you two switching controllers?

I think it's pretty safe to say that if there were anything purely luck-based, it would be werster territory, based on the commentary for the old Pokemon run. But everything in this game is execution-based, no matter how ridiculous.

Yes, I've tried it. I've even managed to not get crushed once - although I did get stuck in the wall. Nevertheless, the tricks "merely" require precise input, so I am technically, if not practically, correct. Believe me, I know what the zips are like - the only one I can hit with any sort of consistency is Hill Top 1 in Sonic 2, and that one is easy. Besides, as I'm sure you could tell, I was joking. Tongue

But Tiberius was absolutely correct; you two running, and especially streaming coop is absolute gold. If you don't include the twitch audio (or pull a tiki and record live commentary in some other way), that would be criminal. I can't wait to see the finished product. Based on what you ~~Englishmen~~ Aussies have done to other games, I have the utmost confidence that you will stupefy the masses. Good luck (even if you don't "technically" need it)!

EDIT: Also, AlecK47; the MH1 level wrap requires sub-pixels to be lined up right (or something) and as there is no way of doing that via input, it is technically luck based.

This run contains FIVE unintentional deaths. The ridiculous thing is that LB2 is still faster that way... not sure if we'd try it in a serious attempt as it does, after all, require two frame perfect inputs at high speed, with only one shot at both.

Anyway, 30:15. Mushroom Hill 1 was ass as ass can ass, and Lava reef 2 wall took a sonic minute. So can prob knock this down to a 28, but this did include Launch Base 2 so whether it actually will is a different story

I've been playing S3&K since S&K was released and I've never seen that happen before. Best of luck. I've been enjoying the co-op runs.

I can't shake the mental image of Tails surreptitiously shoving Sonic off a ledge now. Or throwing him into lava NSMB Wii style. #betrayal type deal. I really hope you include a blooper reel with the final run, because it should end up (who am I kidding, it probably already is) right up there with the best of them.

Well, that didn't take long. Less than an hour and a half into our first stream back, 30:05.

The good:
* Pretty much all the level wraps went flawlessly, including...
* Mushroom Hill 1 FIRST GO. 39 is ridiculous here.
* Really good Death Egg 1 boss fight, which is always a danger.

Biggest mistakes:
* Marble Garden 1, missed 1 round kill (4-5 seconds)
* Flying Battery 1, entering the wall took forever (12 seconds)
* Sandopolis 2, Tails just REFUSED to catch Sonic on a really long fly upwards, resulting in the loss of the lightning shield (15 seconds plus assorted lightning shield benefits)
* Hidden Palace, missed Knuckles quick kill, had to do it normally (15 seconds)
* Death Egg 2, only unintentional death on the one-frame lightning jump. We did get this second go though. (29 seconds)

Add to that the bullshit Launch Base 2 level wrap and you're looking at over two minutes of improvements. But, um... good luck. Both of us agree this run is submittable on the condition we don't do anything better in the meantime.
