Really glad to see you post again.  I also did not want all your hard work to fizzle away!

Good idea moving Skies of Arcadia to the main reel.  The reason I say that is because I am now outright opposed to having a "Coming Soon" portion.  I say just mention that all of these runs were 'posted/submitted/completed' sometime in 2010 at the beginning of the video and leave it at that.  You should still leave the Sonic montage and all that in, but I just would not set them aside in a special section of the video.  Besides, we're in March of 2011 now, so saying "Coming 2011" sounds silly anyway.  So, I would move the 'theater intro' to the beginning of the main video (this would save you from having to make a title card, anyway), move Toejam and Earl closer to the Toejam and Earl 2 clip, and then move Skies of Arcadia to wherever you had planned, ending the reel with the Sonic montage.

The only thing you really need to split up in my mind are the Castlevania clips. I think I would show Dawn of Sorrow first because it is REALLY well edited, has great subtitles, and is easily the most eye-catching of the Castlevania clips.  The beginning of the main video could use a nice draw like that, after all.  Anyway, then just throw in the other clips with like five runs in between them each or whatever.

By the way, I would move the clip from Super Mario Brothers, the original, to the very beginning of the reel to grab the attention of the audience.  I just don't think LoZ:MC is the right game with which to lead.

Explanations to add in that may not have already been mentioned:

Star Fox 64 (this is from my own personal knowledge, but I'm pretty sure it's accurate):  The glitch used in the clip is called the "sky high trick," according to previous runner Brett Ables (Psonar) who pretty much invented it. You basically back flip in your plane over and over, increasing the maximum height you are allowed to reach.  Because of this increased height, the runner was able to attack and kill the incoming Star Wolf team long before the game normally allows.

Dragon Age (this is a quote from the run comments):  "... the OOB (out of bounds) glitch discovered by logitechSDAZ. I paused the game and had two characters talk to Leliana. In the first conversation, I ask Leliana to leave the party. She does, but then the second conversation initiates. For some reason, this conversation takes place out of bounds and it is as if you were meeting Leliana for the first time. So she rejoins the party and I get to run freely OOB."

Vectorman 2 (also quoted from the comments - hope I got the right part, but I think I did): "Now for the fun part. Instead of going down into one of the gaps and climbing all the way back up, I'm going to go straight across the top. A couple of things make this tricky, but the most obvious one is the fact that the blocks can destroy each other, so you need to be sure that the block you're using for the jump isn't about to be destroyed before you use it. For the second jump, to be assured of getting across you need to start your jump from at least three blocks high. For the third, you have to stand on the brick two below the one at the top: any higher and you hit the ceiling, any lower and you aren't guaranteed to make the distance. You can make it from three below, but it requires a bit of luck with the random wind gusts. In order to get that high in the first place, though, you need to make a gap of three blocks in the wall so that you can jump out and reach the height you're after. So there's a bit of setup involved, but it still saves 20+ seconds over going into the pit. "

Obviously, you'll want to paraphrase these, but hopefully that saves you from having to come up with something from scratch.

SDA Apprentice -- (3-1)
Alright, got a bit of a confession to make.  The Pinnacle copy was actually the only copy I had, so if pinnacle crashed, I had to restart.  Fortunately, I was able to reinstall the program and the backup copy is running smoothly.  This means I can finally start working on the video again.

I decided that the coming soon video will be discarded from the main highlight reel.  However, it will still live on as an alternate video to ensure that the runners will still receive their credit.  That said, when there is the 2011 highlight reel, I'm sure they can be reused again, minus the Sonic 3 montage (still can't figure out what part to use, too many good things)

Outside of that, I'll revisit all the suggestions that have been made up to this point on both here and youtube, and I'm sure that a 2nd draft will be ready sometime this week.  The only other thing I'm going to add the ending.  Basically it will be the same where Vyse bows to the crowd to thank them.  From there, the credits will roll to mention all the clips shown one more time alongside with personal credits (Again, this is my first actual big video project, need to make sure I take a bit of credit for putting this all together... Smiley ).  Need to figure out what music to use at the end, a silent ending would be a bit dull.  As for changing is the introduction, I'm half and half on it.  Reason being is that "The Theater" opening is good and fancy and all, but I would need to figure out an opening musical number to use, and what two pics to feature outside the theater.  If I can't figure that out, then I'll keep it the same.

Perhaps that will be addressed in the third (and possiblity the last) draft.  Until then, I got work to do.  Not to mention that with spring break coming up, I got alot of SDA related work to look into as well.

As for there being too many Castlevania clips at the start, I decided to move OoE and LoI towards the end after the PSP runs... This way it at least spreads it out some...

I'm glad you kept the other two Castlevania clips up front, because those two were my favorite of the four.

I think you made the right decision about the coming soon reel.  Now that we're in March, is makes no sense to have it anymore.  We can just use those clips next year.  Though, I guess you're still using Skies of Arcadia, but that is technically posted now after all.

Yes, definitely give yourself a big "Produced, Directed, and Edited By" credit at the end of this whole shebang.

As for music suggestions for the credits:  "Still Alive" from Portal might work (this is getting obnoxiously overused these days, but we used a version of it for the Marathon promotion, and it's pretty fitting as far as ending music comes).  Other than that, the only thing I can think of would be something obviously recognizable as ending music, such as the ending themes from a Mario game; my suggestions would be Mario 64, Mario Brothers 3, or Mario Kart 64.

Other suggestions:  Special Stage from Sonic 3 and Knuckles (here); Ending Credits to Gunstar Heroes (here, starting at about 1:20 - Nate's old statid gave me this idea); or the End Level music from Left 4 Dead 2 (here) because it has that cool Kill Bill sounding guitar to it.

My final suggestion for the end credits:  Just play one of the full length runs here with the credits off to the side.  My suggestion would be Commander Keen.  It'd be a neat way to do it, although both the run and the credits would be slightly harder to read since they'd be sharing the same screen.  But still, it'd also be an excuse to pull aside one of the full length runs so they aren't all played one after another (which slows down the video in my opinion).  Anyway, it's about the only non-music option I can think of.

Leave the theater intro in as the opening.  I think it was ... Zyre (?) who suggested using 'audience chatter' and 'applause' instead of the Fox Productions music, which I think would make a lot of sense.  As for the pictures outside the theater: what about "Quake guy" on one and the words "Speed Demos Archive" on the other?
