Can you share how you did it because that would be very helpful.

In fact,I refer to an ancient abosoleted tasvideos on ninja gaiden 2
http://tasvideos.org/62M.html
you can see a tough jump in the second scroll in 4-1, I often try it.
sorry,the third scroll

Based on my knowledge of ninja gaiden 2, I did this by save/load (<10:20,nearly pefect run)

Maybe something will help to reduce runtime.

By the way,I think this video may help to run NG3

syzn06 that NG2 vid was amazing man! Thank you for putting that together, is there any way you can make it public so I can download it??

Awesome thanks! I like to watch the vids in slow mo so I cant get certain positioning and precise hits just right.

But not that lucky, most of strategies and tricks in the vid are very risky just for speed (At least for me),so I don't know how many of them can be used in a real speedrun, maybe some others can obtain them easily and constantly.I'm looking forward to parts of them appears in the future WR speedrun...

By the way, it's seems that fast jump-climbing the wall by hand in NG3 is possible and worthful according to the old TAS vid.

OK yeah I tried some of this stuff on emulator and it is not happening in a real time run sadly Sad

I will keep trying more stuff and still think that even if I only get 2 seconds worth of improvements I will be quite happy about it.

I think
1.Best pattern eagle boost (2nd scroll in 4-2) is almost impossible (I just noticed, sometimes it nearly happened when I made mistake here,so I try it in this vid)
2.Straight going down without hurting by the guardian is very random (3rd scroll in 4-2) (it seems to require you jumping at the right place to get fast moving speed)
3.The route in 7-1 is deadly, and the tough eagle boost in 7-2 needs very tiny operation (It's a enhanced version of the ancient tasvideo,I try it nearly 30 times here)
These above can never be used in a real speedrun,I guess.
4.Getting 220 and 235 at the same time in level 6 needs some luck,sometimes I can't get 235 anywhere(in 6-2),maybe scumtron can help.

Some other dangerous parts are doable in a real run,but they all can decrease successful rate significantly.

New NG1 pacifist WR in 15:48
I don't even play pacifist, but that was really intense to watch!

I also like the TAS vids that syzn posted in this thread, very interesting ideas in those.

Thanks guys!

@syzn06: pacifist is not an official category for SDA. It would be the same as low% since you still do use your sword and is too arbitrary as a goal choice to be its own category Sad
Professional Shaq Fu Speedrunner
Well I seem to recall a similar discussion before about 16 star runs with Super Mario 64. 16 Star runs aren't low% glitched or low% intended, but just a relic category of what low% glitched used to be, except a enough people still like the category and run it that its still an SDA category. So why wouldn't this arbitrary goal choice be accepted as an SDA category?

That is true, however, the 16 star category was already established when glitched/low% came out. Pacifist was not established when low% was so it is a different situation. Trust me, I want pacifist to be a category more than anyone, but I have already discussed it with admins and it is not gonna happen.

I am pretty sure the argument against is that if they accept one arbitrary category then people gonna want to submit all kinds, like no damage runs etc.

A very high 12:18 in NG1. Had to get into the teens before this weeks TSSB episode which features Ninja Gaiden Smiley

It's always exciting to read about PBs in Ninja Gaiden. Anywhere from 12:00 to 12:20 shows about the same skill level IMO. Nice job!
