yes it is faster than a death zip there
I feel like I've just been uploading videos of great tricks but haven’t been explaining how they work or how to do them, especially when some of them are really easy.

Crashman Death - Seriously, this trick is really easy. You can learn it in ten minutes and makes for a great you tube video.

In the second room in Crashman Stage, place an Item-1 so you can lodge yourself inside that groove to the bottom right of the ladder. Make sure you are against the wall - so all the way to the right, facing right - for it to work properly. To zip: after entering the ceiling, throw an Item-1 and turn left immediately.. You will zip across two screens, and if you hold up while zipping you should grab a ladder automatically. This is the ladder in the next area that takes you up to the first screen with the moving platform. If you don't grab it during your zip your still in the same room so just jump to the right and climb up it.

Notice the screen shown in the picture after you scroll. That's the screen your actually in, despite what you may see. Walk to the right, all the way, and exit the screen twice. Once you do, you will be in the same screen as the halfway point is, but you're entering from the left. There is a ladder right there, climb down and a death occurs, because where you're at there is no down exit. You will re spawn at halfway. Pretty badass eh?

Yes you can use Item-2 over the first 2 platforms, which probably in the last run would have been the smarter way to go.
But Wily 1 will be considerably different with 2 verticle zips, in fact you can change to item 1 from the beginning and use it all the way to mech dragon (eg. no item 3 needed for wily 1). Item 2 is still an option there though...

I'm starting to think skip the zip in Wily 2 and use item 2 there... Then use flash where I used wood in the last run (I got very lucky, you can get a lot of big energy refills there and there's really nothing you can do about it) Then use 2 item 1 to get on the platform and 2 more item 1 to jump over the spikes.

There's alot of options for the wily stages. And yeah, there should be a glitchless run i think
Don't think!  feeeeeal
is someone going to do a new run of this or still working on the new strats?

I completed a 28:42 single-segment run with death-abuse. (and an accidental death which resulted in a game over costing around 26 seconds.)

Part 4 -

Sorry about how dark the videos are, its recorded with composite video cause it's all I have for the wii. Without that accidental death in Wily 2 it would've been around 28:16 but I think it calmed my nerves a little bit and I played without as much worry.

I'm still looking forward to seeing Seth Glass's next run Smiley

Woa, Nice work man!  Shocked

I think I should start practicing this game again.
Wow, great run.

It is no suprise to me with the new tricks that you were able to get well into the 28's, especially without the death. With the woodman death zip, and a number of verticle zips i think 27:xx is very possible.
I don't even know what the fuck this is
for a second I thought this was mm9 and I was like "why is md9 proud of 28 min"...... well, oh. holy fuck
Don't think!  feeeeeal
For quick man, what if you didn't zip until after the falling part?  Seemed like you had to spend a lot of time walking left to right instead of falling, plus changing weapons and dieing.  Why not zip past the dogs on woodman, that seemed pretty fast?

So that trick on willey2 is risky, I thought it looked really risky.
My feelings on The Demon Rush
In light of recent discussion in the topic below, I have decided that runs with zips and zipless runs can be separate categories. And yes, this probably means we should put up the 30:33 run again. I'll talk to Enhasa about it when he is online.

I think this is a good thing for SDA. It is such a big difference between Glitches and Glitchless for this game and watchers want bouth. It should be the same for Mega man 1 too. But for MM3-6 it does not make very much sense.

Agreed, the glitches in MM1 save a lot of time (both pause trick and zipping), but the glitches in MM3-6 aren't very significant.

Hopefully, this will convince Trevor to submit his mm1 run. Pwetty pwetty please.
You got a deletion wish?

Seconded.
Hi! I'm andrewg!
Cool.  8)  I kind of always thought this should be the case for mm1 and mm2.

I thought Seth did an even better glitchless mm2 run in the past?

I meant the opposite. I makes no sense at all (almost) having two categories for MM3-6.
Yes. Having Trevors fastest Mega Man 1 speedrun at the site would have been great stuff!
mega man 2 in 28:15 recorded live http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/5512252

this run was just for practice but turned out to be ok. it is littered with silly mistakes and lazy menu changes. i think sub 28 is in sight.

sorry about the quality, it is better after flashmans stage.

Geez dude, that was amazing! You should submit that. I'd say this is a great run and it had only one slip up.
Unless of course you do a flawless run with no slip ups and submit that.
Has anyone tried out zips on the moving platform rooms in Wily stage... 4 I think? The one that's all purple? I know they'd be tough, but in at least two of those rooms there are room-spanning ceilings, and for the 2 or so that you have to wait through, that could shave like 8-10 seconds by my count, though it would necessitate skipping a corresponding number of skips during the early ascent in that level.

This is one of the sickest speedruns I've seen. I can't believe you're still pushing the game closer and closer to the TAS. The tricks and the overall gameplay are just inhuman...I'm looking forward to sub-28. Best of luck, I'll follow your stream when I can.

That was freakin insane! It's gonna be even more insane once you break 28! Please submit to SDA!
Yes, a worthless avatar riding my posts.
Unbelievable run. Very few mistakes I saw, but sub 28 can be done.

Can we get a mashing video? Your shooting looks like autofire most of the time o_o

That's funny, I never thought seth's mashing was that fast. Besides mm2 doesn't need much mashing anyway.

Although I guess a video for verifiers wouldn't hurt.

Edit: Actually turbo (a fast one) isn't even useful for mm2. Enemies can't register hits more often than once every 5 frames or so.
