Looks great Tiki. Knew you could do it  Wink

woah  Cheesy good stuff!  Grin
Quick man's level with the first glitch.

I don't even know what the fuck this is
Yeah, I was actually kind of disappointed you didn't do that in your run Tongue that would've put you under 29 for sure.
Ok 1 more vid from me.

Are death glitches like this accepted by sda? Would be good to know.  Wink

Sure, but runs with deaths are normally a separate category.

Your improvement was pure awesomeness and it's nice to see you still keep going. That Wood Man glitch is sick.
I don't even know what the fuck this is
Faster Wood Man:

Skipping the bird is really risky, you basically have to walk forward on item 2 at the EXACT right time, if you're too late you won't land on the platform.
New run is even more amazing. Great job.
Jumping Turtle
One thing, though, I noticed you changed to item 2 as you fell off the ladder. It's not huge, but doesn't changing before you drop off the ladder save a couple frames potentially? I mean using the change to drop off the ladder, instead of dropping, then changing, because that just stops your momentum.

Very great run Seth.
This was my favorite Nes Megaman run in the site. I loved those glitches. As well run itself was very clean. Masterwork man. Cheesy

Wood man video was awesome too. It is nice see there is still some ways improve current WR run.
I'm doing a glitch less MM2 for TG, and wondering if SDA would want a separate category. Obviously the time won't compete with the current run, but it will:

-Be under 30-minutes (pretty sure I can get this).
-Use a different boss order.
-Use other strategies not necessary in a glitched run.

Let me know what you guys think; I don't expect SDA to be too interested but, if so, I'd be happy to send it in when it's finished.
My feelings on The Demon Rush
This has already been discussed. The answer is no.
Crazy new TAS, absolutely amazing stuff:

Also, let me add my name to the list of people who want a difficult mode run (aka the real difficulty setting).
Don't think!  feeeeeal
I loved the last MM2 run, I think it's one of the best on the site, but, why wasn't zipping used at the end of I think it's willy2 and 3.  espically the purple stage one, where you fight the wall guns at the end.  That zipps through like 5 screens, pluss your already up at the boss fight and don't have to wait on an item1.

That's what I said in my verifier response, but I think that Seth is getting ready to do a run that will rip my dick off with awesomeness. Smiley

you can use some glitches for TG, just nothing that skips level parts.  good example of a TG legitimate glitch is the disappearing enemy glitch in air man's stage, any where else you can do that its STILL allowed becuase it can't be avoided there.

woodman stage revolutionized.

Found by the tas guys, but it can also be performed on console. requires 1 up+down move to enter a wall, pressing pause immediately after really helps your chances of getting in.

I don't even know what the fuck this is
wait, so you can do up+down on console? and wtf version of mm2 is in that video?
heh 'wodman'

tiki this was on famicom and the controller i was using makes it really easy to press up + down. i wasn't sure if this was considered cheating i made this forum post http://speeddemosarchive.com/forum/index.php/topic,9345.0.html but nobody really seems to have a the answers im getting seems like it's not cheating but the subject seems very uncertain.

im not sure what you mean this was regular rm2 are you talking about the video quality or just making fun of my awesome spelling?

I don't even know what the fuck this is
fucking shit, that is insane. I was talking about the sound effects, it's like that on famicom? pretty cool, I like it better than the american NES
http://img514.imageshack.us/img514/8417/quickman.jpg

Understanding the quickman technique: The game has no conception of up or down left or right when it comes to screen scrolls. It only knows the 'next screen' and 'previous screen'. By continuing into the wall at the end of the first zip the game understands mega man to be 1 screen further ahead than he actually is. Therefore, in this example we can continue to the right entering the next screen with out any scrolling taking place. After four screens you have no choice but to jump down, which the game understands to be the last 2 screens of the 'quickman beam' area. Once you are down you can proceed to move to the right without any screen scrolling taking place, to the point where you can actually enter the boss room. By jumping into a quickman beam here you have made the second waypoint as far as the game knows, and thus you respawn there. This was found about 2 weeks ago by myself and though it is about 300 frames slower than the TAS method, it saves time in console play.

The above image shows the route you take to perform the technique.
According to that picture you're not doing the second zip. Was that just an oversight or are you really planning to leave it out?

In the previous route if you've seen a video of it or watched a tas video you will notice at one point the cross over the left of the screen (i believe its screen 3 after the first zip). This takes them to the previous screen so that they are on the same screen as the game data is. Therefore they can use item 1. If you are not on the same screen as the game believes the items do not work, you can throw them but they will not appear on the screen. The picture is just what is actually happening but in practice it will just look like you're staying on the same screen for the entire bottom section.
here it is again if you missed it http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-5411763533347075514
Pros: Removes 4 screen transitions; Do not have to enter the first boss door.
Cons: Cannot zip a second time; have to wait for death animation.

Here is a map of the new woodman technique/zip discovered by the TAS guys.

Hmm... I see what you mean.
Don't think!  feeeeeal
Wasn't the second to last way you did the first half of woodman faster where you didn't die and just zipped right past that big dog.  Seemed way faster than doing that dieing stuff to restart by the ladder.
