This is where you post how it's going with the practice for ESA!

Just briefly post what game you've practised and how that is going.

We have to confirm that you can perform and if you cannot assure us that you are in shape for the run at the marathon, it might not make it to the final schedule. I hope you all realise how important it is for us that you post your progress so that you don't get your game dropped even if you've practised your games.

Hopefully you'll enjoy sharing your results with everyone and if needed tell us if you have to opt-out of a game by saying so here or PM ozzy88, Edenal, dxtr or Crippe.

Speedrunner
After the Ninja Gaiden-races today. I feel kinda at ease. Been doing several sub 13 runs. A Couple of the runs had deaths as well.

So i know i have that game down the bag. Even close to sub 12 some times.

I recently played for the Sonic Center marathon with a total time of 26:52 real time. The beginning and end was pretty bad (dying to the laser boss? Twice? Really??) but the rest was good. A video can be found here: http://www.twitch.tv/tsc_streams/b/382687791

For Sonic 3 & Knuckles I haven't really decided what routes to go for. Initially I'd like to just try and go for all tricks at least once but that would likely end up with me getting stuck and having to reset a lot, which in turn would cut me very close to if not above the 1 hour mark. Most of it is just grinding for consistency though, I already have the total time record on TSC for the S3 part, but right now I kind of want to focus on Sonic 2 and hopefully grind out a good run. I will keep you posted!

:D
I'm gonna start doing some no reset run of qube at least a couple times a week to not get rusty and plan to start doing some wr attempts like a month or so before the event to get as solid as possible.

EDIT: If anyone wants to watch just keep an eye on my channel: http://www.twitch.tv/etholon Grin
I have started working on some more marathon safe strats for Darkwing, to see if I can lower my average a bit.
Still need lots of practice on my other games.
You Have to Win the Game any% - I'm hitting sub-5 min fairly consistently with the new route, even if I make a mistake or two.
Hydra Castle Labyrinth any% - I usually end up somewhere between 30-35 minutes, mostly depending on RNG.

Haven't played a whole lot of 100% for either game lately (though HCL 100% is only like... two minutes extra? Three? Something like that.).

I'm practicing for DKCR.  Yesterday halfway my run, I entered reset- instead of the split button:(. But I just had a full run which ended in 1:43:11. Since I don't have my PC next to my console, my times are actually a few seconds faster since I have to walk to my computer. I died twice and I didn't die until world 8. The deaths were pretty stupid. I did played a little bit conservative here and  there. Maybe I give it another shot right now!

Edit: Did a second run and got 1:44:31. In this run I died 6 or 7 times.
edit edit: Another run today because of a free day Smiley 1:44:40. This time I messed up badly in world 5. and was like 2 minutes behind my average. I catched up in world 6 and 7. but lost valuable time in red red rising (level before final boss) and tiki tong was big troll.
After dinner I might do another run.

1:42:57 (run after dinner). Will try one more! Died 4 or 5 times and a trolling Tiki Tong
and another 1:44:40.  Thats it for now! Sorry for the amount of edits!
Only Offense Will Survive
I am practising RE4 for Wii right now. Here are my current results:

http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL4D7B4A3163CF4B34

I will stream my runs at the end of this month.
Make it so.
Sonic 2: I did a few runs the other day and my worst time was a horrific 27:12 which involved a 4:03 Metro 3 as I took ages getting the zip. Also this was on PC with an Xbox controller so my spindashes sucked, when I get my MegaCollection disc back I should really break 25m every time.

Also I can now do Sky Chase blindfolded, it's happening Wink

Streets of Rage 2: Made some savestates to practice individual levels, at the moment just getting rid of rust as it's been a while since I last ran Hardest. R. Bear remains the hardest fight in the game, I despise him so much. If I can get Stage 5 and him down then full runs will quickly follow on stream.

Pokemon: LG is fine, as long as I safety save before the Elite 4 it's basically impossible to get a terrible time. Sapphire: been doing some more testing and savestate making too, will hopefully be streaming some attempts (to get my record back from werster) this afternoon.
Precursor
Bionic Commando Rearmed 100%: 1:08:05, 50 seconds slower than my best time in wsplit. It went well early on and my first few splits were green, then I started fucking up. But there's no risk of going over my estimate. The risk of even going over 1:10:00 should be low.

More Ufouria and Little Samson times to come. Current best Little Samson time is 15:07.

When it comes to Chip 'N Dale.. Nudua beat his own WR a couple of days ago (for all stages): 13:12 I think.
Meanwhile I just got a new PB: 13:32, with one death :S

I don't know if we are taking donations to play all stages, or something. But I really hope we get to play all stages.

*scratching the rust of his fingers* Alright, I've been playing too much FFIX. I just tried running Asterix and Obelix, and failed so miserably, it's a disgrace. Full of unnecessary deaths and game overs. Gave up on the final boss after gaming over just seconds before the end of the penultimate stage. But I'm back in training, and it'll only get better Wink Oh yeah, 'final' time was 1:15 h. Expect that to melt down like ice in the sunshine by May Wink

Crash 2, i have been practicing on and off, i will pick it back up anytime to get a 48 or 49. I want sub 50 before ESA

Jak 3, Probably the game i have the highest resets on, about 800 or so xD. As for that game im set, i just need a better PB/WR

Jak II: Renegade, i haven't touched it at all, because i wanted a long break from that game. It's so hard it can frustrate you pretty bad. WR Attempts all of May for Jak 2 though. Going to be hard to beat.

Been getting solid runs at Super Return of the Jedi. Three times below 32 minutes.

Getting sub 2min on both north & south and dk, even tho one glitch I wanna show off is rng based on dk.

SMB2, I will start practicing it before RSM, to get up to speed and re-learn some better strats. Perhaps get that sub 9.

TaleSpin, I just need to get used to NTSC speed. Re-learn the strats me and Bangerra developed.
Did a SotN run at the bonus stream of "Itching to get faster"...the Easter marathon. And it was pretty bad, pretty safe, around 24min long.

I need to continue working on the last skip but have been too lazy and interested in other stuff...looking at you CV4 >_>

My goal is to go sub 20min at least once before ESA. RSM is soon so I'll try to work a bit on SotN for that. We'll see what happens.
Speedrunner
I don't like Metroid because of missile drops. But i can get somewhere around 20-25min all the time. Besides that, the rest if the games i feel good at.
I got a 23:38 during the Easter marathon and most of those screw ups were at the end due to nerves but was still well under the estimate.

Hopefully my nerves won't get the better of me if Meat Boy is at ESA Smiley
You'll be fine thumbsup

Super Meat Boy is already clear for ESA.

Might be true, my mistake then.

You can consider the list 90% final.

Only a handfull of games in the risk-zone of still getting cut. And it won't leave anyone without a game. We are working on the schedule and should have it ready within 10 days.

Edit: I should have posted this in the other thread. My bad...

Practice update for me!:

Darkwing: PB: 13:46, Estimate: 20:00, Status: Completely fine!
Nemo: PB: 26:04, Estimate: 40:00, Status: Completely fine!
Chip 'N Dale: PB: 13:3x, Estimate: 15:00, Status: Needs more work if I want to put up a good race. Will practice when I get my cart.
Mega Man 5: PB: 41:4x, Estimate: 50:00, Status: I'd like to be a lot more stable on this. I also need to practice the more advanced super arrow strats, as the run will be more entertaining if I can nail those (I'm looking at you, double-bubble-skip!).

Yeah.. NTSC will be a challenge. And making sure we don't miss any despawned treasure O.o
We will need 2 ntsc copies too.. Do you have one? Also: I have no NTSC copies of ducktales 1 & 2, should I get some before the event or will they be present?
