slight update: i've only been able to get this trick to work when you walk off the ground and hug the wall, doesn't seem to work if you jump up from below and try again
Hey guys, I've just started running any% warps and I'm enjoying the technical challenge and speed of the run. However, I'm finding that my game crashes pretty often when map warping, do you guys have the same issue and is there a way to stabilise it?
you'd have to ask vulajin, but i believe it's because of a patch they did to the game, you need to read back through the pages and find the link to the older build of the game. not sure though
Just tried it and it hasn't helped. My specs are more than enough to handle it (I've put everything on the lowest settings just in case) and the files are fully verified.
It's extremely frustrating as I do want to get into this run but I can't deal with having a 50% failure rate due to crashes.
sorry, can't personally help you, as i run warpless. I just find the warp cuts out too much to properly enjoy the game in my humble opinion. no knocks to the others though. Personal preference. Though i can't lie, having a 20 minute run is much more bearable than a 60 one
Warping is possible on the most recent version, as long as you hold down the mouse button while trying to warp. Crashes typically happen if you try warping to a tile that is not actually a valid room, so make sure you know exactly where you intend to go before going.
Hey. I am new to Dust speedrunning and now i try to learn RDS in Abadis to get the Fleash Sheath in any%. I got now ~8 hrs gameplay just to learn it and i am not even close to get it every time. Getting it in 2 out of 10 tries with the help of the spikes You guys got any advice for me?
I remember spending a night on getting flesh sheath aswell. It took me hours to realize what I was supposed to be doing, after I just tried to hit the buttons appropriately.
What I learned was that it is essential to do the airslashes facing away from the wall and then get the good DS into the wall. The rest is finding your optimal distance to the wall, finding a good rhythm that works for you and also just getting used to the 'mashing'. With time you'll get the hang of it.
Thanks for the input. But for now i try to work with the spikes instead against them. Especially the 2nd spikes on the left are a great help and these are the ones who giving me the most trouble.
what works for me is when you dust storm into the wall, tap the opposite direction as you strike, then turn around with your other strikes. especially on the second set of spikes, you can go almost over the half way point of the shaft before you actually take damage, the hit box is a lot smaller than the image looks, though if you want to damage boost off of them, it's not too much slower as long as you get it first try
I speedrun dust any% warpless, with a current pb of 1:03:40, and I have been wondering have people found out any consistent way of getting Champong (the attack potion)? Do you just pray it shows up in the shop or do you have actual means to make sure it is listed in the shop?
from what i've figured out, the only way for it to show up is for you to get a food drop in the final area, but that's iffy at best. it's very inconsistant, i've been picking up an extra key (where you break the wall to put out the fire a little before flesh sheath, this only takes about an extra 1-2 sec, it's right infront of you) and then while on the way to gaias i take another 5-10 sec to stop and get a chest on the way, if you scroll back a few pages someone put up a map. lasagne comes out of the chest and that's enough to get the buffalo burger, i've yet to find a way to guarantee champong
Not sure mishli. Some streaming programs probably have an option to record your stream even if you are not online. Open Broadcast Software may be able to do it, xsplit too. Normal capturing programs like Fraps are a bit tricky since including the splits is rather difficult.
Anyway, gave the run another go, and wow, what a run it was! I will probably start streaming my attempts, so I actually have videos to prove my runs, lol.
Out of curiosity, I don't have the time to look for this. Is there an OOBs way to get under gaius's first fight? If so that would make it so warpless would only need to fight him once after dropping down to the final room. Although you'll probably need double jump just to fall through the floor if you can even do that.
Hey there. Now that i got no problem with the RDS anymore i could finish a run. Actually this is my 2nd run in any% warps. I had alot of problems with my XP management so i couldn't skip the Cirromon introduction. And a few other fails were included too
My goal ist so acomplish sub 22m. And i guess that isn't that hard to get.
