Really good runs yesterday.
While fooling around we found Cassius%. Start the game and reach the first save. Quit and start a new game. When you're at the Waging War intro, load your save and you'll have Cassius sprite colors. Also when going full red from dust storm you have the black silhouette.
Don't need to do 'glade' warp.

Noticed if you do a 'glade' warp and auto save on an earlier game. Start a new game then 'glade' warp save say after flesh sheathe. Then load up your old saves with all maps unveiled, you can go to gaius, load up your save from the new game and you'll be there with the new game stats. Though not sure how legit this is, the option is there.

X - Old Game
Y - new Game

X->Glade warp ->save to a new slot
Y-> New game ->Get to a point to Glade warp and save on a separate slot

Load up X save, warp everdawn then load up save Y. (Unless you want to risk softlocking you can warp straight to gaius. reload and fight him there)
From Y you leave everdawn and warp to gaius. (You should notice on your map you only have say after flesh sheathe, abadis forest, glade, aurora village and everdawn available.)
Go to gaius and start the fight like normal.

Oh my god! Is that glitch can be used in an any% with warps run? I'm not sure because you actually loading an other save.
If it can be use, we could think about do some under 10 minutes...

NG+? I'll just leave it there since it does require you to have a later save only to unlock new zones.
I agree with ogam. It's cool stuff but a ''real'' run would be from starting a completely new game without any setups. If this would be allowed I think that the timer should start to get the setup aswell.
Yeah I wasn't sure about that, there's some games you run with that type of glitch so I was worried about that glitch, but if you don't think we can't use it there's no way to think about it anymore^^, thank you for answered.

By the way, I'm working on a glitch which could possibly skip a cutscene (when you see the first "dog" in the cave") I've done it during a live but I don't know how, I tried a lot of things to do it again but I haven't be able to do it; if you want to see it:

Chateau: Thanks for the highlight video. I couldn't see anything special that you did there, but I'm sure if we screw around enough we'll figure it out.

Just as a note, Naglfar's new 117% route is finally complete, and it's a lot faster than mine. Like 12 minutes faster even on a bad run. I'm looking forward to running it myself.
Using the right entrance of cirromon caverns to warp to gaius is more consistent than using the left one since you only need to jump once to get the same height without fighting.
Well, last night I did the skip again, this time it was in the village, it's really weird but now I think we can do it again.
Actually when I skip this little cut-scenes I smash the dash button and the light attack button and that made me dash faster but it also made me go back for one meter or something like that...

By the way, now I'll not do that type of dash because Vulajin teach me how to dash faster than I was doing, but I think if we just try my old dash method on some cut-scene we can maybe have a chance to figure this glitch out.

Notice that you landed very slightly before you did the double jump? We've seen this a couple times before, I think it's just a glitch where the game displays the wings if you jump a second time after having already jumped recently. I most frequently see this (read: not very often) when jumping up from the OOB above Tethys' room.
Yea that is true now when you say it. But I know that I pressed some wierd button when I did that jump because I pressed some other key by misstake. So maybe you can do it when you want to

it's honestly pretty bad, I'll need some time to get good at this category but hopefully with this other people can at least begin to learn the route I've set out. just watch out for parts where I do the wrong thing entirely and you should be fine.

Here is a video of the ''Glade warp glitch'' that I found for some time ago. I haven't found any way to fight them tho since both of them are the cutscene version of guard and Gaius. Sounds like Dust was patched today, possibly removing the map warp. If you are a Dust runner, please back up your current copy of the game before patching.

(edit) Also if anyone has time, can you please test and see if the new version has actually removed the warp?

The map warping still works but it's not as consistant. It seems like you have to double tap Space (playing on keepboard) fast to be able to warp. It seems like you only can map warp by using the teleport stones and not by warping from the world map.

EDIT: You can map warp by just entering an area from the world map aswell with double tapping Space.
I was unable to map warp in the new version. However, I was able to make a separate backup of the new version, replace the new executable with the old, and then play, even online. No word on whether it will later try re-patching it, but this at least works so that the warps categories can still be run.

I'm not sure what's the best thing to do for people who don't already have the old version backed up.
Patch day... So sad. Oh well, good thing for backups. I wonder if there is anything in 1.04 that became broken unless it was a soft fixes for everything in the notes.
well, this is what I found:
-I have not been able to warp anymore.
-There is still some crash on the game.

If you can explain how you can back up your game to the old version it could be nice, I've not been able to save the old version before the patch (it made it automaticly).

I think we can now create some new categories of speedrun:  "1.03 version" and "1.04 version"
today, dean dodrill made like four speedrunners mildly annoyed

guess I'm figuring out how to get my backup running!
I'm also looking for some old files of the game, I maybe found a friend who maybe have the old files, I'll give it to you if it work
