My sorc run was about 80 mins and I never did another run Tongue Amazon runs were the only videos I uploaded to stage6.
I used to be athiest until I realized I was God.
Quote from Zurreco:
Both versions, as well as his Amazon run, were hosted on that DivX site (session 6?), but that site went down last year.  His first version was fast, but he then cut his second run down by about 15 minutes.

oh snap wrongo mc wrongerstien, go kill diablo

Well fuck me sideways.
I posted this a while ago in the 100% thread, where it fell into oblivion, I suppose. Well, I don't know if it's still any useful, but it'll be a good overview for the experience gaining issue:

Sand Maggots give 239 experience points each (in Oasis and Maggot Lair),
Death Beetles 256 (Oasis),
Dung Soldiers 211 (Dry Hills, I suppose),
Rock Worms 263 (Maggot Lair),
Scarabs 281 (Maggot Lair),
Steel Scarabs 341 (Mage Canyon),
Devourers 316 (Mage Canyon),
Crushers 327 (Mage Canyon),
Blunderbores 282 (Harem),
Guardians 337 (Temple of the Claw Vipers),
Marauders 263 (Lost City),
Specters 251 (Sanctuary),
Hell Clans 245 (Sanctuary, they have 40% fire resistance),
Ghoul Lords 300 (Sanctuary, they have 50% cold resistance).

I think these are the enemies which give most experience in act 2 (I hope I didn't miss any -.-). It seems that the Oasis, Maggot Lair and the Sanctuary (Mage Canyon, Tal Rasha's Tomb maybe) with manipulated experience shrines are the best source for fast experience. Advantages of the Oasis is the amount of enemies and the possibility for experience shrines near the warp point; those of Maggot Lair and the Sanctuary the aggressiveness of the enemies (they rush towards you as if they want to push your experience bar).
I used to be athiest until I realized I was God.
Those numbers are nice - but the problem is, if I do my leveling in the Canyon, then I am not leveling until I am done with A2 quests - which means I do the A2 quests without teleport. Far oasis is going to be the crux of leveling to 18.
I used to be athiest until I realized I was God.
been throwing attempts at segment 1 - which is just a sta shrine and run to Stony. Why so many attempts? I'm trying to manip at least 1k gold worth of stuff out of chests.

What are you buying so early on?  How much will the poison shrine's potion loot be worth?
I used to be athiest until I realized I was God.
I'm buying a +2 frost nova staff for act 1 leveling / progress once I hit level 6. The other money will not be too hard I figure... but who knows.

Just ran that area to see what things are worth, don't now how useful this information is, but anyway:

Chipped gem - 250
Chipped skull - 500
1 key - 22
12 keys - 264
5 Fulminating potions - 60
25 Fulminating potions - 300
Stamina Potion - 12
Cracked Short Staff, +1 to skill - 294
Scroll of Identify - 40
Scroll of Town Portal - 50
250 bolts - 31
350 arrows - 43
Septer, +2 to skill and +1 to skill - 3222
Septer, +1 to skill and +1 to skill - 598
Septer, no +X to skills - 175
Crude Short Staff, +1 and +1 - 1048
Low Quality Short Staff, no +X to skill - 42
Crude Wand, no +X to skill - 51
Wand, +1 to skill - 1612
Minor Healing Potion - 15
Light Healing Potion - 37
Minor Mana Potion - 30
Light Mana Potion - 75
Rejuvenation Potion - 200
5 Strangling Gas Potions - 100
25 Strangling Gas Potion - 500

The staffs, both with +2 to Frost Nova (when I get the SS number)
Long Staff - 8987

The Poison Shrine will drop 5-10 potions, which sell for 60 gold a piece (meaning 300 to 600 gold)

Still trying to get a poison shrine to check the value of the potions it drops, as well as some possible +2 staff numbers
Lay waste to everything...but I still love SDA!
The +skill items selling price depends on the skills. I mean the skill levels.
Basically, pick up anything except katars, cloth armor (cap, sash) bows, and items which can't be useful and takes a lot of space. 2*3 or 2*4 weapons for example.

Siyko, try to pick up potions from enemies, since you will mostly kill boss packs and champions. You can maybe save a few vendor visits with careful use of spells and a bit of luck.
heh heh heh heh heh heh heh heh heh
Saving gold is getting gold in a way. I've been looking through the game's coding, and from what I can piece together, +skill enchantments add allot to the items value. I think I can read this right, the Chrimson SS of Brilliance < SS of the Leach seems to make sense

Yes, +skill items sell good, but it depends on the skills. Level 1 skills add maybe a few hundreds of gold to the value, while higher level skills add much more. That's why one should aim for class-specific items like necro shrunken heads, wands, scepters, orbs, staffs, druid pelts and barb helms. Ama weapons have a low price though, and normal claws can't have skills (hand scythe is the first one, i guess). Items with specific mods like cold damage can worth some gold too. Light armors can be useful, but polearms, bows, two-handed axes can be ignored.

Going through the game's code, which is enough to make one go mad, there seem to be many pre/suffixes that were never put in the game. So far I've found '+ % chance to find gems (based on character level)', allot of thing that were to be effected on a time bases rather then character level, and some skill related stuff. +% to max mana is the most value adding stat, followed by +% to max life.

Other then that

I'll try to find some information that is actually useful
Hail Discordia!
Yeah, there were some suffixes that only worked at night and stuff, I think one of Diablo 2 fan resouces listed them as well as some cheated battle.net items that were somehow spawned with them.
100% runs=great to watch
Would be interesting if stuff like this was "activated" with the upcoming patch...really change how much of the game shakes down.

I thought pelts almost always sold horribly cheap, in addition to being a pain in the ass to get drops on of any real use?

Any progress on this?

no, in training for SF4, haven't devoted time to this. It's still on my list tho
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
Well get on with it already. SF4 and rage quitters can wait- SDA demands sacrifice lol j/k  Grin Heres hoping you get to working on it again soon thou your other run rocks my socks.

BTW your Gouken is awesome.
Lay waste to everything...but I still love SDA!
I don't know if you already started this run, Siyko, but i want to tell you something. According to my timing, the Stealth runeword gives the faster run bonus to the character, even if the character is below lvl 17. Can you (or anybody else) confirm this?
Just call me the cynicism machine
Even if that were the case, you would lose the armor at the beginning of the next segment, right?
Lay waste to everything...but I still love SDA!
What do you mean by that? The armor disappears?
Anyway, no. You can wear it forever. Sadly, it does not give the fcr bonus, but the running speed is slightly faster.
Just call me the cynicism machine
If you're wearing the armor when you put the rune in, you may get some of the bonuses at that point.  However, if you save and load the character in a new instance, won't the game check to see what you can/cannot wear and unequip things you shouldn't have on?

I'm confusing myself now...

Something along those lines happened in Siyko's 100% run, right?
Wearing heavier armor slows the character down. http://forums.diii.net/showthread.php?t=646837  http://classic.battle.net/diablo2exp/items/normal/armor.shtml
The game does not unequip things you cannot wear when you join a new game. It simply appears as red, but is still on the character. So if you wear the armor, and put the runes in, it will receive a level requirement of 17. However, since the armor is already equipped, it will stay on, but you won't receive the bonuses. If there is a glitch that allows you to receive the frw even if the armor itself is red while equipped, then it should carry over between games. However, taking off the armor will make it unequippable again until you reach the proper level.

What happened in Siyko's run was the strength from Sigon's gloves was what kept them equipped. Upon joining a new game, the game tried to equip Sigon's gloves with the unmodified strength and couldn't. As a result, none of the bonuses from Sigon's gloves were granted to Siyko. However, the gloves did not simply unequip themselves. They stayed on the glove slot, just red.

Hope my explanations were clear enough.

Just as Waef said. And i measured it maybe three times, and i'm sure it gives the frw bonus. It is also visible, that my character doesn't start running faster when i reached lvl 17. Unfortunately, i discovered it too late.

Edit: I recorded some videos, running from a certain point to a certain point, with/without stealth, at lvl 16/17, and now i'm sure it gives the frw bonus in the segment you equip the runeword (armor, then runes). If you quit, and you are still lvl 16 in the next segment, you'll lose the bonus, until you reach lvl 17. So this glitch can be only used once, and only in the segment where you get the 17th level.

Oh, and yes, Zurecco, you were right, at least partially.

Edit2: A little correction: it can be used anytime in the run, even in act1, preferably in a really long running segment. Only the bonus will be gone in the next segment, until lvl 17. You have to choose the time carefully!  Wink
