I also want to add that if no Earthbound runners will be there, I can run any% (2:30 max) (This is also my 5th game suggested) that is if you would like to see it again.
1. Maximum Carnage: I know josh had some hype for this last year, but the big problem with this game is that toward the end you just end up abusing the assists. It's also not the most popular game, going with no.
2. Someone else offered this too, and I just don't feel like normal would be as good of a watch as Dante Must Die.
3. Spider-Man: I think this game got an okay response at SGDQ, but nothing that warrants running it again.
Time Crisis games: I don't really have a strong feeling on these, but I haven't seen light gun games get a great response at other marathons like ESA.
Is there anything I can do to change your mind? These games all deserve a chance(or second chance) to be seen at AGDQ. I believe after all the hard work i've done to work on these games, I should be given the chance as well.
Normal may seem "normal" but if you watch the run, I'll convince you otherwise Edit: I guess there is a time better than mine... I guess I need to change that huh? I know what I'm gonna do for awhile
This is the hype and skill needed for a true sharp shooting Time Crisis player
Considering some tricks I use are different from Bonesaw, how about you take a look so you can see for yourself that this is a "must" for AGDQ? especially a race between me an Bonesaw
Just mentioning that I'm suggesting Metal Gear Rising as well. Will be New Game Hard mode with obvious deferrals based on who the better runner is at the point. Houser and I thought a race would be good but that's up to you.
Regarding Time Crisis - We got a lot of positive feedback from people regarding the Time Crisis 2 run and Adam and I did that with pads. There hasn't been a proper light-gun run at a marathon as far as I know. There weren't any at ESA with the proper equipment. Just wanted to clear that up in case it affects your decision.
I know I was discussing this with Adam at SGDQ, but wouldn't the same problem exist in the sense that unless you are driving into DC, checking in or taking a light gun as carry on luggage would be pretty risky?
Concealed carry and open carry are banned in DC as far as I know. They've got strict gun laws. Probably not a good idea to bring any type of gun. Edit: I'm dumb. Light guns are probably fine, but it might still be a risk if you get a dumb airplane security person. (I read light gun as an actual gun for some reason)
If you're open with the security officers about it, and allow them to inspect it, I don't see why there would be a problem. Guns don't have to be shaped like guns to shoot bullets, and not everything shaped like a gun shoots bullets.
edit: If you're overly concerned, ship it to someone who is driving ahead of time, and they can bring it for you. Or just see if someone else can bring one.
Evoland (PC) Any% [40:00 Estimate] or all Stars and Cards [1:05:00 Estimate] - It is a big throwback to Zelda and FF7, with a couple other references and fun things thrown in as well. A fun little game, and with a couple of small glitches make it a fun one to run that I would gladly be interested in doing so for AGDQ :). Stars and Cards are the two main collectables, which we've put into their own category.
1) I'm going to suggest Megaman Battle Network (The first) Any%. I hold the world record, which is just under 2 hours. The game is the shortest to beat in the main BN series. A realistic estimate is 2:30, because the game has a lot of RNG elements to it, which makes it an interesting watch. One of the main differences with this run when compared to other Battle Network games is that the player doesn't rely on an over-powered PA or style during the entire run. This gives the run variety. The final boss can actually be skipped with a unique pause glitch, as well.
I'm super late to the discussion, but OoT All Dungeons would be amazing if it's possible to get Shaeden/Pydoyks/Nedeahs or Moltov to run and Cosmo to commentate. I guarantee that it would draw a ton of viewers with that setup.
Hey Mike, I just want to try to convince you to let on a couple games which you've declined. If this is the wrong thread for such a thing I apologize for cluttering things up.
1. Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg by Iongravirei [Any% 1:20:00 Estimate] This game isn't as obscure as you might think, it's really one of the more popular third-party Gamecube titles. The gameplay is very fast-paced and it's easy to understand what's happening on screen. For the average twitch viewer, it's quite an accessible watch. Ion has very solid commentary as evidenced by his well-received run at SGDQ, and he has a lot of friends in the community that would sit on the couch with him to co-commentate. If you're not convinced about the popularity / nostalgic value of this game, check out this youtube video. Note the view count and the comments.
2. Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon by Pykn [Any% 1:40:00] [100% 2:40:00] A lot of people were really surprised that you declined this game, it's really not even remotely obscure. There's actually a recurring joke in Pykn's stream that it's the "obscure game that literally everybody has played". Much like Billy Hatcher, it's very easy to understand the tricks in this game so it's a good spectator run. Pykn has excellent commentary and understands this game on a highly technical level, you can watch his run at SRG Marathon if you want evidence of this. There is also huge potential for donation incentives, Pykn offered to sing the infamous Impact song which I guarantee would raise a ton of money. Here's the song, if you're not familiar with it:
Oh, and one final note, I want to point out that an ACTUAL KAPPA appears in Goemon 64. That alone should merit its appeal to a general twitch audience.
Otaku Gamer: With some of those examples you are mixing ESA and GDQs, they are not the same marathon, nor do they have the same goals. Also, many of those games have had consistently positive responses at marathons.
It looks like you have found a lot since the game was last run at a marathon, and it's worth considering for a future marathon. I just think it needs to take a break.
They are from AGDQ and on the Games list as the same goals. My reference list
I was mistaken on these two. Darkwing Duck and Resident Evil 4
All of these are from AGDQ and on the Games list as the same goals.

I just don't think that saying it has been played for the last 2 years is a good reason to not let a game on the list. When you already have games on the list that have been played over 2 years. It is a little hypocritical. This is just Opinion. But I do agree with you this game probably does need to have a break. Thank you mikwuyma and admins you're doing a great job.
Pykn has excellent commentary and understands this game on a highly technical level, you can watch his run at SRG Marathon if you want evidence of this.
Name : Patrick Wessels Nickname : Meridian or Meridianprime Twitch : meridianprime
1. Tetrisphere Puzzle mode [Estimate 0:35:00] - I did this game at ESA during the bonusstream blindfolded and it got nice feedback from it. Would like to do this again for the wider audience. Currently holding the WR for blindfold run (maybe im the only one hehe)
2. Bubble Bobble [Estimate 1:00:00] - Been breaking my record time after time again and getting close to the WR. Have been trying to contact AND4H for a coop but no responds yet so if anyone wants to race me or coop run this game 100% (with warps) they are welcome or else I just run it alone. Donation incentive for a good ending.
3. Dr Mario (snes) [Estimate 1:00:00] - Speedrunning the game level 0-20. I would like to have a challenge incentive added to this game when its met I have to finish the game including 1.000.000 points. This require a whole new stretegy and a lot more entertainment. I'm up for a race if anyone wants to race against me.
Oh, and one final note, I want to point out that an ACTUAL KAPPA appears in Goemon 64. That alone should merit its appeal to a general twitch audience.
There's a kappa in Double Spoiler as well actually. >__>
1. 007 Nightfire (Operative) for Gamecube, currently have WR. Has many OoB tricks that add a lot of entertainment and shock factor:
Safe estimate: 48 minutes
Also co-auther of the new TAS that just came out. VeMann and I could race it possibly, I know he offered to run it as well.
2. 007 Agent Under Fire (Operative or 00 Agent, donation would be fine) for Gamecube, the prequel to Nightfire. Currently have the WR for segmented and single segment:
Safe estimates: 45 minutes for Operative, 47 minutes for 00 Agent
3. Superman 64. Currently have WR. Lots of rings, lots of OoB glitches. You know you waaaaant it:
Safe estimate: 2 hours
Those are the only ones I'd like to run at this moment that I think could make it.
On a side note I have an RGB modded (component output) N64 and cables that would increase stream quality for SNES/N64 if AGDQ capture setup accepts component video.
DMC 2 Dante Any % NG+, i currently have the WR with a 1:12:23 and the estimate would be 1:30. i think this game would be awesome for AwfulGDQ! Sorry im late on this
DMC 2 Dante Any % NG+, i currently have the WR with a 1:12:23 and the estimate would be 1:30. i think this game would be awesome for AwfulGDQ! Sorry im late on this
Does DMC2 have difficulties? I know it's important for the DMC submissions :3
Hey page 19, I totally didn't neglect you to do hang out with friends at a bar.
jape: id like taz. please play it. added to the list.
drogbass: Those glitches look really funny. I'm guessing retro doesn't have track glitches like that?
The custom sprayed GC controllers sound like a pretty hot prize.
ChibiTamashi: Minesweeper 99 minutes - Yeah but does that translate on stream? Also you would be making moves so fast that you can't possibly explain them all. Obviously minesweeper is popular, but I'm not so sure as a game, maybe as a bonus game?
Lost Kingdoms: Like the first one, too obscure.
TheVeman3000: Luigi's Mansion was already rejected and I don't feel
007: Nightfire: Honestly, the only popular and strong offering in the James Bond games is Goldeneye 007 and that's been offered.
FlintGaming: A Bug's Life - Definitely glitchy, but too obscure.
BrokenArthritis: I'm toning down the 3D Sonics this year. I don't know, I thought reactions to this game were mixed? I'm really not familiar with this game, but
Svenne: We'll see what we want to do with the game, whether it's a race or just a run on one of the versions. That's the real question.
TheMexicanRunner:
Battletoads: Yeah I know this game has gone through some improvements lately, and I think reintroducing this game would be a good idea. Bidding war for any% and warpless?
Contra: Ehhh, we've done this game a lot, and with more established players, and it last AGDQ it didn't get a great response. With nothing new I think it's okay for Contra to take a break.
Darkwing Duck: Eh maybe this game will work for a disney block?
The Simpsons: Bart vs the Space Mutants: Sinister said he would give you this game if you offered, so you're on the list.
Kotti: If there was a skip or something impressive in that video, I completely didn't see it. I'm not really sold.
nayon: my answer is still no.
thataintfalco: I'll have to sort out who has the most consistent times/who has the best PBs later.
Andre:
Eh we've done Amnesia in the last two marathons and I don't know about having it for a third time, especially with the fun lights out run we had at sgdq.
Stivitybobo: Sounds good, I'm just gonna put down the estimate at 2 hours.
Simpol: For Zelda 2, I think pro_jn solo is best because he has the fastest time and is very consistent. But then again, is your time close to Pro_JN's? I just don't know.
I'm toning down the 3D Sonics this year. I don't know, I thought reactions to this game were mixed? I'm really not familiar with this game, but
It is mixed because, many people have played the wii version. The people that have played the ps3/xbox version love the day time stages, but dislike night stages because of the length. In a speedrun, you can go through any walls/floors in night stages. I can post 2 videos. One with a day stage speedrun, and one with a night stage speedrun showing off how fast paced/ broken the game is.
1. Spyro the Dragon 120%[Estimate:1:45:00] : This is the original Spyro for the PS1. It is very fast paced, has quite a few cool tricks and is based a lot around optimizing movement. Due to having so much optimization to it, it is rather difficult to speedrun and has a very high skill cap, especially for 120%. This is my main category and currently I have a PB at 1:37:00 and I've been playing everyday in attempts to bring it as low as possible. I also saw surreal post this and wouldn't mind having a race with him if he can make it.
any% [Estimate: 50:00] : Similar to 120% except collecting the minimal requirements to beat the game, good run for a race considering different strats/routes used, also has some nifty tricks and a couple not used in 120%. If SSBMStuff is there this would be a great race to watch since we have different routes. This is my secondary category, I prefer 120% but I will be getting into this category more seriously soon.
2. Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back any% [Estimate 55:00]: Really fun and interesting to watch due to a fast and sometimes unpredictable movement technique. This would be a great game for a race and would definitely partake if it's in the list.
presjpolk: I'm aware that E.T. is infamous for being awful, but I don't think it's a very good watch.
Six String: Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon: I have no idea what this game is like.
Phauxe: I remember you used to be around for the segmented run, but I have heard nothing from you in about 4 or 5 years. I'll need some streams from you or something to prove that you can a. actually get under that estimate reliably. b. that you still play period.
Fireboy116:
MMNT: Already rejected the battle network games.
Minecraft: 2 hours is way too long for a run of this sort.
Kirby Squeak Squad: This is not a very strong or liked Kirby game and I've rejected stronger offerings.
itsPersonnal: Already rejected Spongebob games.
5upamayne:
Fire red is a no because it's the same length as 151, but not as strong donation incentives-wise.
Pokemon Crystal: Worth considering, lumping it in Pokemon something.
Yellow: I think this is a little too similar to the glitchless Blue/Red run from 2012, and we're having new categories/games from the pokemon series being offered this time.
dballin: I am rejecting your offering, it's just formalities.
Breakdown: I am the hope killer.
Sh0rtCircuit: Wasn't supposed to be a question mark there. Anyway, this game is a cult classic, but it's really long and not the greatest speedrun to watch.
Tenshots: I know Yagamoth vouched for you. Putting you on for the game.
