One hand is enough.
I know for sure I can at least get a 1:43 now. I've messed around with the languages some but only seriously timed one dialogue sequence, which took 52-53 seconds in Japanese but ~56 seconds in all other languages. However, Japanese doesn't seem to always be faster; if anything it is probably just more variable.
I know most people have been against using DLC, which surprised me at first since most people playing through God Hard seriously have the DLC. Many other games use DLC without many qualms, but oh well. I'd really have to re-learn the game from the ground-up, as I only completed maybe 2 playthroughs of the game before ever getting the tri-weapon pack ages ago; and I'd have to delete it from my hard drive as well, which would make switching between the two a pain.
Other than just plain knowing the game better this way, the Anti-Armor Pistol and Laser Cannon are really, really FUN. The feel of using them is just fantastic, and I want to see just how fast the game can be beaten. I can understand people wanting to play the game as-is, but I enjoy the game the most this way. I may give no-DLC a serious shot eventually, but there's still plenty I want to do otherwise. Sorry for being long-winded here, but I've thought about it a lot.
Awesome layzerphish! I'll be glad to help if I can!
EDIT: here's the YT vid of the 1:44:19
