Indeed I was surprised when I have see the room with the scroll 32. I've lauch the game and obviously the room has changed with the 1.3 version. This is more easy now in my opinon. But wierd decision to change this.

And yes the easy trial skip seems not work with a new game. The hard one still work btw.

New strat on the scales found by BustahWuff. In fact after some edge you can make a jump like 1 seconde before falling. So you can make a jump after the edge and go ON the scales. Just try it this is easy.

Hey guys,

just found 2-3 optimisation at the beginning.

1 : we can actually jump on the top of the balance.
2 : after a small slide if you do a small jump you can enter the house directly
3 : if you jump a the last moment you can reach the second platform.

I only started running Teslagrad a few days ago but I managed to stumble upon this. Looks like after dying to a shockwave I managed to skip the king. I haven't gotten to attempt to replicate it yet since it's too late for me to try as of now but I'll give it some attempts tomorrow.

Oh wow ... I don't think you can reproduce that again (I've try a little) but that was interesting.

I don't like this boss because this is the only RNG in the game and just at the end of the game. But until now we just found some way for breack some room. Not the game. I don't really like corruption.

But if someone find a way to remake that ... we'll see.

Good luck for you're futur run. Always a pleasure to see some new runner on this game.

Sooo I tried messing around with the king fight and this happened:

The end music is playing and you can see the gold in the background.

This happened when I was pause buffering, while running into the kings room, but I was not able to recreate it again... I killed myself to see if the fight skips.
So maybe the king skip and this glitch are connected with pausing the game?

Nice PB ! Sub 40 would be really good.
But why your video/audio is desync ? The video speed is like x1.5 and audio x1.
You can't fix that for you're futur run ?

New video btw with some update. Last trick very interesting for 100% run ... if you are a robot.

I made myself a little program to easier switch between any% and ng+ runs

What the program can do:
You can either replace the savefile on slot 1 with a newgame+ file or delete the savefile on slot 1 for a normal any% run

If you want to use it too, just download it and unzip it anywhere. But keep in mind to

-keep the savefile (also in zip) always in the same folder as the .exe
-Relaunch the game after changing the save (it will not load the new save if it was still open)

lol this is awesome !
In fact you are not force to quit the game. If you return to windows without quit the game, erase the files, return in the game, load an other files (like files 3 for example) with a random place in the game and then return in the menu you can see the first files clear. Maybe not faster but this is possible.

In any case really cool program. Clear the files for a new game it's pretty fast but for the NG+ this is awesome (all the time copy/paste the save ...).

You should try to "find" the 1.3.1 version for making run. With the new 1.4.0 version now we can't make the fast strat in the Maze room and the glitch with the bridge before Orb boss.

But good luck, I take a little breack right now but I still want to improve my 100% run. I would see if you get too close to me I would go back in Any% x)

I will start some stream with a new equipment. First with meat boy but like I said maybe Teslagrad after that.

The "problem" in any% is that I had a perfect king ... but if I come back I will make the scroll's 20 fast strat and didn't take the scroll after fernus (the 1st boss). Save around 6-7 sec.
And I know you try the 3rd oleg's pattern with the fast strat.

My run is not unbeatable but you need patience I think. But I know you, SK wr holder is not nothing.

Well dang, that poses some problems doesn't it? What do we do about this as a community then? We can't legally upload a file of that version so that new runners can run the best ver, which would be ideal. Should we move on to the newer, slower ver. and say that is current? I have the faster ver so I'M fine personally, but I think that kind of sucks for anyone who would want to join into the game in the future. I didn't even know about this until today, I'm glad you told me or I would have updated. But now that there is a new version I don't really want to run until a decision is made on this or we figure out a way to allow any new people to grab the better ver.

Dang devs fixing their games, what a bummer.

What we could do would be to give the faster build to whoever with a proof that he/she bought the game. I know some games where they do like this.

For the 100% it dosn't change a lot. You "loose" like 2-3 sec because of one strat. (and 5 sec for the backup in maze room if you miss the fast strat scroll)

But for the any% this is pretty sad. In fact I think my 28:28 can't be beat with the 1.4.0 version.
Or maybe we can make 2 differents category because this is an older version (for exemple rogue legacy do the same thing, they fix a bug on a boss).
And if some new people want to beat the old time they can search the 1.3.1 version.

But that would mean I would have to make a new run on this version -_-

I'm torn between creating a legacy (faster version) category or just moving on to the new version. The legacy category seems to be the best compromise for new and old runners so we don't need to do completely new runs to have a time in the game. The 2nd option is just the easiest for us as a community since we don't need to say we're running "any% legacy" or "any% current."

Both of these options will allow new runners to get into the game without being forced into getting 1.3.1, which I think is best. The last thing I want to do is create a barrier for entry for potential new runners.

That's the point. This is little game and it would be pretty hard for some people to found the old version. We are not too much right now so if we complicates things we kill the speedrun.

I can create category like "1.3.1 and older version" and "1.4.0 version" or like you said "legacy" and "current".

I hope they don't will make a new version with more time lost than 1.4.0.

I wait some current active runner agreed and choose the name of the category.

Edit : and in my opinion we don't have to change the 100% category. Almost nothing as change and the time are not incredible ...

Unless everybody starts using the new version, I think that making 2 seperate categorys is the best solution because:

Only allowing the old version is bad for new runners because they may not have access to it

and

Only allowing the new version is bad for runners which prefer the old one

The only other alternative would be, if we find a legal way to downgrade the game or get some kind of permission to provide the old version to others, so we can stay on the old version.

I just started running this game even though the records are absurd. While researching some tricks on youtube and came across a guy with a lot of new things. credit goes to MetalFoxDos on youtube. Hey Twyn_o accidently found a skip of Faradeus's fight (the second boss). MetalFoxDos and I tried to reproduce it, but we weren't able to do so unfortunately. It seems to be really precise, and maybe TAS-only. Here is the video :

What is apparently going on is that even after death, if the body of the kid touches a checkpoint, it will be the current checkpoint. So the kid will respawn on this checkpoint. Which is here the checkpoint on the left of the first room after Faradeus. I guess that the body of the kid need to be pushed by the wind after death in order to hit the checkpoint, just my two cents.
