For anyone who hasn't already picked this up, this is going to be one of the free PS+ games on the EU PlayStation Store next month.
Quote from SubStylee:
Welcome to the crew, Passif! You're a brave man I don't know if I could stomach trying to attempt a 100% speedrun of Strider. Doing any% with OoB's and some of the boss fights is aggravating enough as it is sometimes. Once you get better internet upload your stuff I'm sure people would be interested in checking it out.

Yep Thkx ! The route was easy enough to figure out thanks to Sainiku's maps, and the fact that most items can be found along the way with minimum backtracking.
For now, the  priority will be to upload a run on youtube, (even if I expect it to NOT be a great one), then I'll start the optimisation process with the recents tricks found.
Yo ! I started uploading my 100% speedrun on my youtube channel for anyone interested.
I intended to do a single segment run but because of my internet connection, I have to upload small bits by small bits, thus the multi segment run...
Maybe one day on Twitch I'll be able to do a single segment run !
Congrats: Reading Skill Lv Up!
I have to admit, I was surprised to see this thread I started on the first page of the forum.  I came over to check out the Dustforce resources, since I impulse bought the game (among other things) with the humble bundle this SGDQ.  I saw the run and knew I had to have the game.  It's nice to see Strider still getting love though, maybe it can be a run in next year's AGDQ.

I'll be trying to get into it.

Also, welcome Passif! I wish I had the time to run more 100% speedruns. I'm glad to see someone is interested in them though! Also glad to see someone using my maps and route! I spent a huge amount of time on them and I've only done a handful of actual runs.

Alright, I finished a 'proprer' run (without the latina background music :P) in  01:52:30. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=281434297
I'll upload the videos shortly !
Here is the link for the new "proper" 100% run
I'll upload the rest as soon as I can.
Ok everything is uploaded now !
This run need some polish but now that the route is set, it shouldn't be too hard !
Sub 1:50 is definitely possible is everything is perfect (boss fights and movements especially).
I think I'll try hard mode very soon and go to back to normal to perfect my run some more !

(by the way, does this that I have the world record now ?!? Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy )
Considering I don't think anyone runs 100% I believe you do! Good stuff keep on improving that run

Okay so for the past month I've been digging in the game for stuff to make things either faster or easier, results have paid off with a few things here and there.

1st there's 2 oob's that make things faster or easier.  Read the video descriptions for notes.

Next I found a way to get ice kunai early.  Below are some resources to understanding what this means for the future of the any% speedrun.  Consult the image linked below for the OoB points I refer to in the writeup. (thanks to sai for the map)  EDIT: The #2 point is actually farther down on the map, the sniper is above it.  My bad.

This is a writeup on this new skip I found to get ice kunai early.  You will need double jump.  You need to do a very frame perfect jump off the platform next to the end of the level followed by 2 also frame perfect charge slashes up-left with a +1 height boost.  Needless to say this will probably become TAS only.  Climb back up to the #1 point on the map, clip oob and use precision to get over the obstacles in your way.  It takes around 4-5 minutes to do this,  less if you use the #2 oob point which is extremely hard (but TAS can do it).  Once you get above the ice door, you'll need to face right, climb next to it and drop, you'll be in the ice kunai room.  Make your way through industry.  When you reach a slide panel next to long jump, slide and drop down it.  Make sure to open the gate to the right for later.  Use kunai to get through the ice door next to the save room on the left.  Sisters won't appear yet.  You need to trigger 2 cutscenes with them to do so to the left, then die to respawn at the top. Fight them as normal.  Return through the ice door and proceed to get PC and magnetic kunai as normal.

Whew.

Ouah, Splendid run SubStylee !
I'll be sure to use a lot of your tricks for my 100% run !
(Now I see how much optimisation I have to do... Undecided )

By the way, is anyone going to update the Knowledge Base on Strider regarding the recent updates (dragondance, ledge jump glitch) ?

Thanks, Passif! Glad that I could show you some stuff in my run. Btw I was watching your run and at around 17:03 in your first vid you can actually I think stand next to the door with the orange skull or near it and use eagle to hit the skull saves you a few seconds. Also I don't know if anyone is going to step up and add onto the database.
Thkx for the advice SubStylee !
About the database, I'm creating some routes/maps, it's kinda rough but I would like to post them around so everyone can have a idea of what I'm doing.
Any idea where I could upload them ? (knowledge base maybe ?)

Got some new stuff for you guys to try out.  Read the info on youtube for notes.

Note that getting magnetic PC does not let you go through magnetic doors even if you save and restart the game.
Alright, I'll simply upload my routes through my steam account : http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198025563987/screenshots/
Remember that is this simply a rough guide for a 1st route. Any improvements are welcome ! (and thks to Sainiku for the original maps Smiley )

Got my videos and commentary done and uploaded on the new any % route I created.  Give em a look.

Got a time of 40:55 with this route.  I plan to bare down, get that WR and change the game as we know it!

Extended description:
Here it is, world record time with the new route.  Here's a breakdown of what could be better for this time.  I could go for the later health and then attempt the oob to skip to the 1st sister fight.  Doing train skip could save 15 seconds.  It was a big mistake to try theorycrafting early doublejump during a speedrun, that cost me 30 seconds.  I was also dumb trying to get swag reverse door walks before wall.  In tower I almost died.  I lived on a pixel and dodged a last second ice shot.  On Xbox 360 the launcher magnetic wave upwards travel distance is random, so the switch took a few tries.  Also because I stayed for the credits the in game time tacked on an extra 5 minutes.  Other than these things the run is flawless.  I will try to make up the times in the future.  Thanks to everyone who supported me in doing this.

Got it in amarec too.  Will need to calculate the difference in loading times.  Stayed for the end credits, not sure if sda wants that, igt was 5 minutes longer because of that.  Also there's still a minute to dig up with this route, I will continue running it to get it.

Edit: lower quality twitch vod here, thanks hobo for the encouragement.  Edit #2: Calculated the loading times, 2:02.46 on console, 25.73 on sai's pc with an ssd.  Without loading times, the time is 36:37.96 and with ssd loading times it's 37:03.69.
Wake up and be awesome
I'm no expert on timing, but if your planning on submitting that run to sda, then I'm sure it'll be fine. A lot of sda runs include final credits. As for the in game timer, just make a note of that, and  again, I'm sure it'll be fine

Here is a fancier way to get back In bounds for magnetic PC. Probably isn't worth it but I'm putting it out there for new people to check out or maybe someone can come up with other areas/ways to make it work.

Yo ! I finally recorded a run on twitch but it's awful... (the stuttering AND the quality of the run). Anyway it's not my pb (1:52:30 vs 1:54:30) but it'll work as a proof of commitment... kinda. http://www.twitch.tv/passif/b/552448660
PS: look like I'll also need advices on setting up a stream (sigh).

Current Any% WR: 34:44 -

Still have about 20 secs I can gain before it gets real hard to improve the time.
