I looked at Artistics run to figure out what the inconsistency is with the two oobs, so there is an additional invisible wall somewhere...
What are the conditions for that to happen? I never had this problem even when I failed the oob several times while training.

I do the first clip different tho, since the backwards method didnt work for me at all, does that make a difference?

I tried around some more and this is the best I could come up with:

Doing the skip this way takes about the same time as doing the usual route perfectly (both OoBs first try). Which is about 2 minutes (not including cutscenes).
This OoB spot is way more consistent than the first one. The fact, that you don't have to go through the cave also saved about 15-20 secs over my first video.
So yeah, Artistic. This would be about 5 secs slower than the usual route, if we had no-loads.

I made an ASL script for livesplit that works with the current version (attached to this post).
Quote:
state("ROTTR")
{
bool ingameCutscene : 0x27D5EBC;
bool    isLoading  : 0xEF49E0;
}

isLoading
{
if(current.ingameCutscene || current.isLoading)
return true;
else
return false;
}

Let me know if this works for you.
In case somebody does not know how to activate it.
Edit layout -> Add -> Controls -> Scriptable Auto Splitter.
Go to Layout Settings -> Scriptable Auto Splitter -> Choose ASL file.
Make sure you compare against "GameTime" when you start the timer.

I tested this script against all kind of circumstances, so I hope it will work for everybody...
Attachment:
The no load timer works fine, but there is a slight problem. When transitioning from one cutscene to the next, the timer will sometimes be unpaused. This always happens for the same transitions, for example when you finish Syria there is one transition, where it continues for ~.7 secs. Not a huge problem and I think all of those transitions are not load dependent. So they should be the same length every time...

I see, well maybe the game does not consider those cutscenes etc. As long as there is not a random cutscene/loadingscreen this script does not stop in, I think it should be fine.
Else if this is a huge problem I might go ahead and see if I can find a way to include those transitions.
Nice Aphox, seems to work pretty well. Also dying is now super time efficent Kappa b.

inb4 deathwarp strats : P, altho now that I think of it, there were a few spots where you could checkpoint warp ahead a little bit. Not sure if ever worth tho.
Anyway, the only bad(?) thing is that the devs still release patches pretty frequently, so with every patch you need a new no-load sadly...
Truljin @ Twitch
The reason it continues between cutscenes is because you are actually in the game when it switches, it can be obvious in some transitions cause you can hear Lara jumping or see UI prompts briefly.
i did a complete run with igt to test it might just have been my pc dying but i got extreme frame rate issues at the end of it i will test it again when i have time and energy to see if it happens again

Final Edit: Got the autosplit working, thanks for these Aphox!
Hey everybody, I got exciting news. I just managed to make Jonah spawn without ever going to the Acropolis.
Going to make a video of how I did it (assuming I can replicate it) and then post it here. I managed to get until the end of Corela skip without the Wire Spool, but now I can't go on. Can still quck travel though.
I don't know how useful this will be, but it's definately interesting.
This took me ages to figure out, but now I know how to get Jonah to appear early.

The important part is cancelling the campfire screen AFTER the cutscenes have played. After that you just need to reload checkpoint (dying got swag tho').
The first OoB is not really necessary, but it's faster because the next area is only loaded partially, thus not blocking you.
Everything I do after going to Jonah is just to show the next area does indeed load.

As I already said, I was able to get until the end of Corela skip, before I was unable to go on. It might be possible to get through the rest of the game without the Grapple. Not having high hopes, though.
Even if this doesn't end up being useful, the OoB in the beginning and the way I left the Archives might still save us some time.
This is waaaay easier and 100% consistent.

So, the first of the 2 research base OOBs (the one near the excavator) has been super reliable, but i did a run just now where i first ran to it and tried to clip - didn't work. I then exited to menu and continued, still didn't work. Tried exiting again but still didn't work. Then tried reloading checkpoint but that didn't help either, then tried once more to exit and continue but it still wasn't working lol. Never had any issue with that clip before, I can usually just run to it and do it. Anyone else having this issue? Maybe someone knows how to get around it :/

@Troblana, I have had that happen a few times, seems like every time I run, when I first get to the excavator (before reloads and exits) the clipping works, but if I try again after that first time, it seems to not work anymore, really rather strange.

@SamuraiBlue, That's nice, looks way faster and cosistent than the table clip.

@Leemy, haha nice skip! but I think, even if you do manage to get throuh the whole climbing area before "catwalk of death" (my name for final run to boss tower) I think you might have a problem jumping to the cross where the guy will grab your foot. Since you have no wire spool, you can't use your icepick to latch on to that cross, either you are just stuck or the game might softlock Sad
Edit: Also, doesn't this skip the Shotgun? and didn't we find out that the game would softlock at a certain point in the end, without the shotgun?
@Konjux The game softlocks in the Acropolis without the Shotgun, but Leemyy skipped the Acropolis.

Only way that I can see to finish the game without the Grappling Hook that I can see is to skip the entire final section and get straight to the chopper battle. Even if that were possible there's no guarantee it will load.
But I wonder, Leemyy, what happens if after getting Jonah to load or having him kidnapped, you go over to the Acropolis?

@Eydas, ahh ok, then that doesn't matter, but yeah, now we need a "final climb" skip that goes straight to Catwalk of death, for this skip to be "useful".
Hm, damn.

What has really destroyed my runs recently is the freaking research base. The only safe way to speedrun Rottr I could come up with is to exit menu + continue after the river and before the deer gets shot. However if you mess something up after that and you need to reload because of it.. well then you are most likely screwed and it's run over.

never had a problem again so far
@Leemyy  Good Job!

I have great news guys!

Just did the Acropolis skip.
And it worked! Finished the game without the Shotgun / (Wire Spool)
A few minutes into the "Path of the Deadless" the game just gives you the Wire Spool.
Everything works like it should from this part on.
You even get the explosive arrow spawns at the chopper fight.

Wow! That's great news!

Do you get the wire spool when you do the full skip of path of the deathless?

I just did the gate skips
No OOB stuff

You can watch it at

@CptKiwi that's awesome news. I am so happy this worked out.
I know from my own testing, that you will not get the Wire Spool, if you do the full Ice Age Skip. Or at least that's what it seems to be. Maybe you can do one half of Ice Age or it's something else I  did different from Kiwi.
