The game will only be out in a few days but I got an early copy.
Doing a first casual playthrough for now, but already checking a few things out. Like this:

That was on Xbox 360, btw.
If these two glitches carried over from the previous game, I bet others did as well. I'll do some more digging once I beat the game.
Thread title:
I won't watch any videos about glitch and skip before I beat the game (on PC). But that's awesome to know door clipping works. Hopefully skywalking will also be part of the speedrun.

Anyway, I'm glad to see you're already looking for stuff. Good luck!
There is no way I watch this video. I know I shoudn't have click the link to this thread, but someone gave it to me... ! Damn, I don't want to play a TR 2013.2 Sad ... Very disappointed rigth now.

Disappointed  because it looks like it will be runable? 2013 is one of the most popular runs on SDA. If many of the same exploits exist I would hardly see it as a disappointment.

Anyway, it looks like I'm going to have to wait a year before I can get my hands on the game. This is one of the few games that make me jelly of Xbox owners.

Considering that 2013 isn't even on SDA, I hardly see how that's relevant. But yeah, It sorta looks like it's the same exact engine from 2013, which makes sense since it's the same developer. I haven't played the 2013 version yet, but I agree with Caveberry that you should try the same glitches from 2013 here and then start from there.
i kind of dont want skywalker in there just because it is framerate dependent... more consistency is better in runs between consoles/PCs, but that's just me.  anyway, I'm getting this tuesday on XBO and will immediately start looking into breaking it.
Nice Eydas ^^ good to see that this good old glitch probably still works.
I don't want to see any vids about the game before I get it so that I can savour it... I'll run it on 360, anyone else on this platform to run it ?
Like you Brass, I would really appreciate less differencies between pc and consoles.
Oh well well if those aren't familiar faces^^

Anyways as other people I try to cover myself from watching any content of the game... but please don't freaking route too much until the pc release or there will be pc only skips, no mercy brass no mercy!
we shall see. The falling animation for skywalker is still in, however I haven't found a spot to hold it or use it, so definitely check it on PC (did I really just say that?).  I've found 2 small skips on my first playthrough.  but I'll do a speed run testing stream and highlight them there in the next week or so.  as for other glitches, Im confident the new rope moves in this game can be used in some way to skip areas.  There is phantom dynomite again (really CD? get rid of that crap) and here's 2 videos i found, one new tech as well that we could definitely find uses for elsewhere.

Is the A,X exploit new? If it isn't, I must have missed it. Can it be used to climb most any wall, or just certain ones?

Even though I don't have the game, I would like to keep up on the runnings. Having only one current gen console can be frustrating. As many have said, I hope consoles can compete with PC on this game. It seems, more and more, that only pc runners can be competitive on this front.
The A,X climb only works in certain areas, but definitely should be tested everywhere, and as far as I know it's new.  I tested on a wall and it adds quite a bit of height.
Hey guys!

Definitely get a nostalgic feeling from posting on a Tomb Raider forum again haha, anyways I got some skips that I found but I've only recorded 2 thus far:

Very basic, just mash a+x and hold forward and you should get it with a small bit of practice Smiley

Here's the other one, abit harder than the other one:

Hey guys, yesterday I discovered an OoB that I thought could potentially be used to skip both gate sequences in The Lost City and save massive time in speedruns.
Today, with the help of Elajjaz (http://www.twitch.tv/Elajjaz), it was discovered that this indeed CAN be used to skip both gate sequences and save around 10/15 minutes.

Big thanks to Elajjaz for investigating this OoB with me on his stream. I think we decided to call it the "Corela Skip" Smiley

Corela deville skip Tongue
Seriously though, good find
There are a few posts on speedrun.com as well with some new stuff
So FINALLY I have some free time to post some skips.

First, I discovered two skips for the prison escape sequence which are shown in this video:

The two skips together save about 2 minutes. Some notes:
* It doesn't seem possible to stay OOB further than I did since you miss some required load triggers (an area later won't load).
* This unfortunately skips the assault rifle. If you want to get the rifle, it's possible to cut the OOB early. You just need to drop in front of the door after the electric water puzzle, then open it. This does cost an extra 30 secs or so.

Now, I also tried to skip the first gate instead instead of opening it. And, well, I did:

But I don't like this skip. I can't seem to find a consistent setup and I'm suspecting there's an element of RNG. But, if anyone wants to try maybe they can find something.

This next OOB, Elajjaz has been using it in his speedruns. I discovered a new way to start this OOB which is much easier (the rest of the OOB is shown for completion's sake, and because I'm not sure if anyone uploaded it yet):

Alright, that's what I have for now. I'll be doing some more testing later and post if I find anything.
Wow guys you seem to be in good shape, you've already fine some great stuff !
I'm currently 100%ing the game but I'm really looking forward to speedrun it, try all those skips and hopefully find some.
For now, it's like torture not to watch you guys stream to avoid spoilers. ^^

Okay, this is interesting:

Not sure if useful tho, more testing is required. From what I can tell, the Research Base area won't load yet. Haven't found a way to access the mines directly either.

Edit: Some more discoveries. These door clips are turning out to be VERY useful.

There's probably some more fight skips to be found later but I'll have to check some other time.

finally getting around to learning some stuff!
any advice on the ending of the Corela skip? I seem to be jumping above the death floor and not back in bounds so I hit the death floor and die. also the wall to get OoB seems to be loaded half the time so I have to reload to get it to not be there?
I've been practicing The Prophete's Gate skip and it's really hard to get.^^
The 1st trick (when you get stuck between the pillar and the wall and then get onto the rocks) is quite doable, but the problem starts at the 2nd pillar, when you're supposed to go below the map and start the long OoB. Is anyone using that in runs ? Anyway, I'd be curious to know your setup here guys.

Eydas, your Prison Escape skip is really interesting. I did it a few times but my console froze twice after that, during the escape with Jacob, is it possibly because I did my tries from a loading point and not from the beginning ? By the way, that door clipping is a blessing, useful in so many situations.

As a X360 player, I've noticed a few differences with XBO but all the glitches seems to works (not tried Corela skip yet). Doing the Bear Skip makes Lara invisible during a quarter of the bridge for instance but it's manageable.
To my understanding, the Prophet's Gate Skip doesn't actually work yet (something prevents you from continuing afterwards), but Corwey will know best.
As for Prison Escape - That's really weird! I haven't got a freeze there yet. I've done it a couple of times but it's always been with a new game file. Maybe you just got unlucky?
No advice for the Corela skip I'm afraid.
I think i figured something out for the Corela skip that helped.  but, i have more shocking news... the Atlas Skip... I cant clip those doors on XBO.  you make it seem so easy on X360, i wonder if the X360 version has an advantage there.
Yeah, I find the backwards aiming method very consistent, and it works in many places, not just doors. It's not 100% but I usually get it first or second try.
It's weird if it doesn't work on XBO because they're both supposed to be locked to 30 fps...
This really needs to be thoroughly tested on XBO because this glitch could be used to save a lot of time.

About that Atlas skip, I don't get the trigger when Lara falls after the second clip door (only had once) so I'm not in the next area when the game reloads. Really strange. But I've noticed that the skip works if I go near the Atlas (you hear music starting) before going for the skip, it's still a small loss of time. I'll retry this part again and again to found out what is the problem.
EDIT: In my latest run, I did it your way and I had the next area fully loaded (no black, no scary fall) ! I get something new every time here...

Concerning Corela skip, I understand what you meant by "death floor" now. The last jump before getting to the camp fire is really tricky, I shake every time I reach it and even if I haven't failed it that much, it's more like coin flip to me. I'd like to find something more consistant here.
Back to the Prison skip, I haven't had any freeze again, guess you were right. ^^
Wow, weird stuff Samurai. I'm unfortunately too busy these day with university to do more testing, but I'd hate to think the amount of time you save from that skip depends on some random element.
There must be something that controls the next area loading and we just don't understand it yet.
No problem Eydas, hope for you that you'll have some time to make the most of the game. I haven't had any problem at Atlas since then, the next area is loaded every time now... Strange but I take it...

Btw, thanks to Corwey, X360 players can now skip the first half of the Prophete's Blessing.
