Yes, a cucco riding the ground.
After you get on the shell and go past the giant robot, you have to jump to that platform. I kept running into the far edge of the platform. My solution is to stop boosting after I land.

EDIT: Finished another attempt today... 2:23:51. Definitely my best so far. There were two deaths: one in the Cave of Bad Dreams cost about 25 seconds, and one in the Iron Mountains cost about 20 seconds. Taking other various errors into account, sub-2:23 is definitely possible. I don't anticipate being able to work on this run for quite a while, though, so I am debating whether to submit.

EDIT2: Decided not to submit. I will keep going until I get sub-2:23.
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
God I tried hitting the switch in Tomb of the Ancients about 15 times just now, the Green Lum got me 14 out of the 15 times. I can get the time of the level down to about 10 Minutes 20 Seconds, maybe a little lower, but that's only if I actually skip that green lum. If anybody could upload a video of that, it would be much appreciated, because the only way I was able to get it to work was by a lucky ricochet off the wall.

Yes, a cucco riding the ground.
Here is a video of both of them:

Mine was sort of a lucky ricochet off the wall too, though. Tongue
Cheese, your video says it's private so I can't see it.  :-/ Also, I'm glad you are making progress with your run.

I have a video of it and would of uploaded it a while ago but my computer isn't working. And it took me a good 10 minutes or so to hit the switch and record it. The stupid green lum is a bitch.

It should work now.

Fuck Youtube. It's still not working.  Sad

Okay, reuploaded. It will be here once processed:

Thanks for uploading them for me. In my video I did it on the other side of the web... Not that it matters.  Tongue Your way looks easier though.

Seconded. It's been years since I've played it...I really look forward to the run.
Edit:
I found it...*plays again*

OH MY GOD!  I don't know how old this is, or if the run is already done, but I LOVE this game.  I've been working on a 100% run of it, but because of the longness of this game, it'd probably be done in something around 50 segments.

So, each level is split into an average of 2.5 segments? Sounds like you've never played this game before... Unless the saving system on some other version than N64 is radically different and lets you save in the middle of levels.

I find tha insulting.  Jerk.  The 50 segment thing was just a srcasm thing, its probably actually 10 (it just FEELS like 50 :P)

So, you're doing two levels in each segment? There is no advantage to that.
It's time to use the HEALING TOUCH
well, if you're going to join the rayman crew, I think the best thing is not to start off at each others throats right? Nothing is worse than multiple runners for the same game hating each other, a syndrome that has plagued the super metroid TAS thread for 106 pages...

I'm sure you had something planned out,, but manocheese is right segmented with each level done individually seems the best idea. I'd love to see segmented any%, SS any%, segmented 100%, single segment 100% (if someone has balls of steel) all of it.

You're right, I kinda got carried away...
Anyway, maybe I should just segment every world or whatever..
The problem is, I can almost NEVER get more than two hours at a time to play video games (damn stepdad!), so I'm on my last nerves, going currently insane, and he's really grinding my shit right now (I know that doesn't make much sense, but whatever).  Well, sorry anyway.
Any progress on the runs? Cheese? Spike?
Yes, a cucco riding the ground.
No attempts recently, but I've been practicing.
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
I've completed through Level 16(Tomb of the Ancients). Will probably get to serious work on The Iron Mountains tomorrow.
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
Well, I've currently completed all but the final level of this run. My time is somewhere around 2:14:xx. I estimate my final time for the run will be around 2:25:xx. I would have liked lower, but hey that's way better than what I though I'd get when I started the run.

Right now I'm stuck on the first part of Level 18(The sliding part). I've gotten to the final section of it where I have to ramp off the two ledges while shooting the two switches to lower those ledges, but Rayman keeps randomly flying over to the side while I'm trying to shoot the switches and killing himself. After this the rest of the level isn't very hard, but something random could always happen. The elite Pirate likes to be a bitch sometimes and in the final battle I can't shake the homing missiles at times.

Anyways, since I've been doing this run on VHS tapes, I don't have a choice but to finish it and send in my submission within the next two weeks. Hopefully I can finish it today, since the holidays are coming up and that will take up most of my time.

BTW, Manocheese how have you been doing are your run.

Good to hear that you are almost done. I have not done any attempts in a while, but I will hopefully do some over a two-week break I will have soon.

Even though you didn't ask me, I'm doing pretty well on my run.  My only problem is beneath the sanctuary of rock and lava, where you fly in helicopter mode.  The only way I could even hope to get through that is with the analog stick, but my analog function broke, and I have no money for an extra controller.  The last level's sliding part is getting to me as well, and Rayman himself isn't controlling very good with the weird golden shell at the Grolgoth.  Oh well...
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

I finally finished my run tonight. I'll time the whole thing tomorrow and get on top of sending in my reqeust for the submission.
Yes, a cucco riding the ground.
That's great news. Any idea on the time?
Hooray! Can't wait to watch it!  Grin
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
My time is roughly 2 Hours 26 Minutes 56 Seconds.

For the record I start the timer whenever I gain control of Rayman after I talk to globox, and I stop the timer at the point I press "Yes" for saving the game after each level. I start the timer back up for each segment when the screen goes black from loading the save file and once the box describing the level you are on pops up. The end of the run is once the screen goes black after the Razorbeard battle.
