I love YaBB 1G - SP1!

Well, I just looked back and noticed Manocheese already completed a 2:23:xx single segment time. I suspected that much with the extra tricks found and the HUGE Echoing Caves skip.

Still My only way of recording this is by VHS tape, so for my last run for a long time, I'm going to send this in. Hopefully it will be accepted and be on the site for a little while, until Manocheese finishes his run of it. Either way, it would be nice to get a run of this up on the site soon, So I'm going to go ahead and send mine in.

That's very fast for not using the new tricks. Also, 2:26:56 is the exact same time as my OoT run. Shocked

I did another attempt today. It went well up to the Precipice, where I quit after dying three times. I'll be doing some serious practice on that level... Up to there, I was 51 seconds ahead of my 2:23:51 attempt. So, that puts me at 2:23:00. I definitely lost some time after that, so sub-2:23 is more than possible. I have a two-week break, so I will hopefully finish my run.

Here's the sanctuary of fire and stone break I was talking about. Now the video is messed up at the end. If you guys want me to upload a clean version of this trick just let me know. When I say clean, I mean not edited so it looks like the trick isn't real. My recorder just so happened to skip over me jumping up onto the seam thing and recorded me grabing the ledge.

Holy crap guys! I just discovered how to skip the Sanctuary of rock and lava boss! Cheesy

I'll upload the vid but sadly I did the trick after I killed Feuth. So I'm not too sure if it will work.

I have done some practice and have achieved a good degree of consistency. I will almost certainly be using this in my run. I estimate that it saves 25 (not getting Golden Fists) + 10 (not having to worry about getting hit by shadow fuzzballs) + 5 (not having to fight the miniboss, but losing a bit of time because of probable imperfect execution of the trick) seconds, so around 40 seconds. I also miss two Lums on the way to the Golden Fists, but that's no big deal. That should bring my target to sub-2:22.

EDIT: O_O That is pretty big if it works. Also, his name is Foutch, not Feuth... <_<

God damnit. I was just about to drop in the hole when he got me. If we drop in the hole we might get it. He does that arm spin attack.

edit: alright so I'm leaving today and coming back on the first. If someone could get this trick recorded with the boss still alive that would be great.

Hmm, I tried it for a while and it seems like the risk-reward ratio is way too high for a single-segment. A segmented run should try it, though. I haven't been able to get it yet, but I was REALLY close once. I was over the hole when he got me.

Finished an attempt today. The time was 2:21:22. That may sound pretty fast from my earlier projection of sub-2:22, but it really wasn't. There were five deaths:

-One in Sanctuary of Stone and Fire cost 35 seconds (although I pulled off the miniboss skip without a problem)
-One in the Precipice cost 8 seconds, another cost about 20
-One in Sanctuary of Rock and Lava cost about 20 seconds
-One in the Iron Mountains cost about 30 seconds (at this point I wasn't trying too hard because I knew I wouldn't submit)

So, that is almost two minutes lost. I really didn't lose all that much time from other mistakes, or at least it's time I'm unlikely to gain in future attempts. Thus, my final (unless more timesavers are found) goal is sub-2:20. I could say sub-2:19:30, but that sounds silly and I'd probably just submit if I got sub-2:20.

Is it just me, or does every close attempt of yours get exactly 5 deaths? That sounds like a bad karma thing, where you might convince yourself if there's no deaths that 5 are coming on the way Tongue

Be sure to make them the good intentional deaths that save time by warping you closer to the ammo when flying on the rocket (or whatever the death achieves from that video of yours.)

Actually, that death was just a shortcut I did to avoid having to paste two videos together. Tongue

Dying does not save time during the Razorbeard battle.
