Has anybody made a Painkiller and/or BooH speedrun?
I have been working with first few levels and made some videos. But if anyone has done it so far, I would gladly look at the records and try to beat them Grin

I don't think anyone else has decided about doing a run. If you're doing a run, then what difficulty are you going to do it on? Daydream is too easy a difficulty, so Insomnia and/or Nightmare skill would be great choices.

I think PK would be a nice game to speedrun. There is material for a few different categories as well, like doing a 100% run where you collect all tarot cards and secrets, segmented and SS... maybe even some sort of "special weapons" where you have a maxed out board from the start.

I'm doing it on nightmare skilllevel and two ways, first not using any black tarot cards and then using them Roll Eyes

Well here are the stats for the first two levels:

C1L1 5:18 without cards 4:26 with cards
C1L2 6:18 without cards 6:27 with cards

There is still much to accomplish and I'm making stupid errors like missing shots and getting stuck to some walls but must keep practising.

Speedruns 4-ever...

Can you put up some videos so that we can look at them?

And keep doing the run, I would like see it. Like i have said in a other post, I dont have a good computer so i cant play these kind of games, so that enybody do a run of it so i can see is sweet!!!

I'll upload the videos as soon as I get to a computer with a better connection. I ain't uploadind 125megs with my ISDN :-/

And as for the stats, they were taken out of the game timer. Videos will be a little longer, and quality is a bit crappy. I'll make it better for now on as I learn to use virtual dub again Grin

Now I got my self registered so lets continue, I realised that I had made one of my records on insomnia skill level so I tried it again. so C1L1 is now 5:07 without cards, even better Grin

Painkiller is a cool game and I would surely watch a run through it. However I do not know what BooH is, so I cant say if I would like it.

BooH = Battle out of Hell, a 10 level expansion for Painkiller

Just f***ing wonderful, now my computer started rebooting itself and complaining that my graphics card doesn't get enough power. This speedrun is going to take a looooong time... :-/
C1L3 is now completed, and the video quality is so much better when using xVid codec.

I had a brief look at running Painkiller but couldn't find the time Smiley

I think this would make a really impressive run, because a lot of the work involves killing enemies really fast. There are no shortcuts to speak of. Are you running the skill level that excludes the last chapter? I'd definitely download a finished run anyway.

Times look pretty impressive for the skill level.

I'm playing on nightmare so the last episode is included. The Forest level is locked though Sad

so I might do a Trauma speedrun for that level Smiley

I checked out the video and I'm really impressed. Great use of the Painkiller weapon to damage over distance, good choice of cards (Dexterity is awesome!).

Do you have the stake gun on C1L1? It's alt-fire is pretty good for small mobs. I found the Painkiller alt-fire quite usefull too.

Looks as though you're really gonna do this run justice. Can't wait to see the finished thing. Best of luck mate.

C1L3 stats are 7:18 without cards and 5:52 with cards. I'll upload the card video as soon as I can.

That level was annoying, I practised over 30 f***ing times and the first time I even got through the level without dying was when I recorded the NO CARDS video Grin

And as for the using of guns...
I use them as they are available in the game. Because you can't collect the stakegun in the first level, I wont use it there.
I hope you understood, my english is a bit crappy :-/

Maybe buy a new PSU. They're quite cheap now, seems like you need it if it complains about not enough power.
