Also, keeping track of the results sounds interesting.  I'll do this if no one minds.

Nice, of course an INTJ would want to track this. Tongue Ok sure, edit that post for results and I will link to it in the first thread.

Yes, computer science.

DAP: I think you're supposed to not take it too seriously and answer quickly (like a stream of consciousness thing). This isn't the SAT or something, there aren't wrong answers. Maybe it would help to take it when you are really tired and about to go to sleep. Worse case, if you disagree with the results, you can dismiss them. Also, if you are still growing up (like a teenager, I have no idea how old you are), and still maturing emotionally, your results might (but not necessarily) be different from day to day, that's just normal. In that case, you shouldn't really put stock into this. I've never heard of anyone taking this before senior level of high school or so (to give an idea maybe for career advising).

MMAN: 2008-04-09 01:59:16 am
I took the test again and, looking back, see I got a different result; INTJ (100/38/1/33), as opposed to INFJ . Considering the "T" was the smallest number, I guess that makes sense as it means I'm probably on the border between them.

Edit: To get personal, if you go by the theory that speedruns somehow attract INTJ's then that actually fits what I find on the SDA forums; INTJ's are apparently some of the most open-minded thinkers, and browsing SDA I tend to come across far less of the stupid crap I find on other forums, since presumably being open-minded means, gasp, accepting that people have different opinions on things.

Took this a couple days ago and forgot to post the results.

EDIT: Took the test again and got INTJ 100/75/44/11.

So yeah...

Like whoa, INFP.  Was kind of expecting a higher I rating but whatever I guess, 44/moderate is still close enough.

Hrmm. I wasn't expecting many '100% introverts' - while I'm quite the secretive and solitary person, I have nowhere near that. Bearing in mind what Enhasa (?) said about 'recharging', I would guess that the small extroversion factor for me comes with the 'energy' I feel when releasing my accomplishments to the public. This is one reason I really want to do a speedrun that can get on the main site.

and no, i didn't copy the values from faia Wink

i wonder where that high intuitive value comes from though, does anyone know which type of question and answer favors it? what's the difference between intuitive and sensing? sounds pretty much the same for me, perhaps i'm getting the words wrong..

edit: wow, i really like the intj forum.. so many people thinking like me Wink a funny thing is when an infj joins the discussion, then all hell breaks loose. of course, one has to be a bit critical about absolute character definitions and their meanings, but it is indeed very interesting.
boss
The interesting part about this test is that you'll get different results every time you take it (at least I do). I got ISFP twice and ESFP like five times now. The percentage is completely different each time I take the test, although it's pretty alike for the SFP qualities. I don't even know where my answers are inconsistent enough for the results to vary between I and E behaviour.
The baddle haz jusd begunn!
If your I and E score fluctuate that much, that probably means you are a shy extrovert or an outgoing introvert.  Some of the questions on these tests don't really capture the difference well.  That's just my opinion, though, I haven't done any research on it.

Oh, and for Sorcerer88, the difference between sensing and intuition is basically whether you are more interested in the tiny details or the big picture, respectively.
Yes. That is Quote riding Godzilla.

INTP

Introverted - 56
Intuitive - 12
Thinking - 25
Perceiving - 22

You are:

    * moderately expressed introvert
    * slightly expressed intuitive personality
    * moderately expressed thinking personality
    * slightly expressed perceiving personality
everybody wanna tell you the meaning of music
Keep in mind that you actually have to pay money to get your MBTI tested for reals, and this is an online facsimile (but good enough, this isn't super serious). You get what you pay for though. Some of these questions are a little wack on this one. (also you have to use your common sense, like if it says "do you like to read or go to party?" Well, I don't like to read, but I get the point of the question, so I sub in "game" for read)

One of the criticisms is that this is self-testing and doesn't really tell you anything that isn't already there. I think that is the point though. It's not a magic box, it's like a graph that helps you understand a spreadsheet of data. As for self-testing, that would be a problem if it was testing your behavior or actions, but since it is testing what you feel, of course you are the best person to answer that.

The biggest problem I have is that dichotomies are pretty misleading. I and E sound completely different, but if you have 1% I vs 1% E, that's basically the same result. Then again, if you want a simplified answer, you have to draw the line somewhere, but confidence intervals are more accurate.

BTW Sorcerer, INTJ forum: I googled for "intj forum" and I guess that's the one. I googled for "infp forum" and get this, most of the forum is locked from non-infp. I'm not sure how they accomplish that, but that is priceless. Smiley So stereotypical.

Ok, I finally bothered to retake for numbers and got:
INFP: 22, 88, 75, 67 (my NFP is off the charts apparently)

meepers is back from the dead! And she is INFJ. Also the one person I would bet my life on to already know their MBTI.

Deign is INTJ. He made me guess and since I know he's actually on the hockey team at ASU, I said ENTJ. Then:
Quote:
<Enhasa> what position do you play
<Deign> goalie
<Deign> lol
<Enhasa> i should have asked
<Enhasa> would have been guaranteed intj then haha
<Deign> i have gotten a lot more social lately though
<Enhasa> haha that is rich
<Enhasa> goalie
<Enhasa> i was going to ask actually
<Enhasa> that's like if you were a football player
<Enhasa> and it turns out you were a kicker
<Deign> and i did play safety
<Deign> in football
<Enhasa> in hs?
<Deign> yea
<Enhasa> free or strong
<Deign> junior high and hs
<Enhasa> or both
<Deign> free
<Enhasa> lol nice
<Enhasa> so that's like the most goalie like position
<Enhasa> on defense
<Deign> yea
<Deign> i like being the last line of defense

More fun (or not) facts:

Dragondarch goes ISFP -> two years later INTP -> INTJ as he gets more perfectionist about his runs. Tongue (note: dd is awesome, don't mess)

Liger is ESFP, which is the exact opposite of the most common type here (INTJ). This is gold if you know Liger at all.

5/7 INFP's didn't bother to post their numbers the first time. Clearly who trusts numbers anyway? Also posting numbers is too much effort, if you don't tell us explicitly to do it, we won't.

Look at general chat mods/staff and former mods. 3/7 of INFP and 2/7 of ISTJ and 0/x everywhere else, hah. Overrepresentation FTW.

It's also funny to compare two people who are just one subtype off. Like stanski is ESFJ and Liger is ESFP. So they act similar like people say, but stanski plays DDP and improves Sonic 2 incessantly, including IL's by 1 second, while Liger does runs in a day or two. Also me and maur (VorpalEdge) are having a good time with this.

[hr]

Now the fun thing to do would be to relate your MBTI type to what games you like or would like (warning: this will not actually work and you will not actually agree with your compatriots). Well, this might only work for me since I actually know all the other INFP's and what games they like. If you're going to do this silly exercise, try not to pick games that most everyone likes. The point is supposedly to pick games that not everyone would like. Love/hate games are perfect choices.

BTW these are so perfect. Note: this is not like a top10 for me so don't get the wrong idea! I wanted to put some PC games but some of the people involved don't much play them.

Darius Gaiden - wonderful, beautiful shmup (carefully chosen words)
Link's Awakening - best Zelda game fo sho
Breath of Fire 5 - pure awesome postapocalyptic underground RPG
Lost Vikings - I can't really explain this one but it's true!
Terranigma - you know it, this game is genius and if you played it, you know how it fits
Killer7 - A isn't for Art, it's for Awesome
The Guardian Legend - girl turns into a spaceship for justice
EVO - evolving, platforming, biting other animals until they turn into meat
Lemmings - it's true, we feel compelled to save them
Ico - we even put up with Yorda
Lufia 2 - although everyone likes this game (same with Super Metroid)
Senko no Ronde - I could even rewatch the cheesy intro all day, lol
Valkyrie Profile - some of the other INFP's just haven't played it yet, that's all Wink
Solstice - this one is for Lag.com since I don't even know what he likes besides this and Low G Man (as far as we can tell, he hates everything)
Gimmick - actually, I think he likes this game too

Warning: if Lag responds with dissention, realize that he takes pride in disagreeing with everyone!
Complete. Global. Saturation.

67%, 38%, 75%, 33%.

Not much else I can say about this one really.

Top ten huh? That's going to be really difficult. Still, because of the severity of my opinions...

Final Fantasy IX - best plot, best characters, best music of the series. also, everyone else hates it. shoe-in
Unlimited Saga - god, I don't understand it, but I love it
MDK - short, unadulterated mayhem
Klonoa 2 - simply the best platformer I have ever played
Darkstalkers - zany yet incredibly deep fighter
Crash Tag Team Racing - mario kart? rubbish. try this one instead
Crusader of Centy - zelda? rubbish. try this one instead
Knuckles' Chaotix - still the best sonic game not containing sonic
Total Annihilation - Starcraft is great and all, but it isn't TA
Um Jammer Lammy - now THAT'S a soundtrack

I tried to mix and match genres.

re: Enhasa's list... yes, I like Solstice, and Ico (and Shadow) and Lost Vikings. I think Lufia 2 is laughably pants, and you should know my opinion on BoF5 already. Oh yes, Gimmick rocks, but I certainly wouldn't want to play it. Smiley
