Life Is Strange Speedrunning

For some reason, the prospect of a Life is Strange run made me think of the main girl doing backflips a la Link.

Maybe we should mod Link into more games just for the chaos of backrunning and flipping through every speedrun.

Haha, that should be a thing.

AOP% will be once speedrun.com decides to work with my browser. I've routed most of it, just haven't had the time (or can't be bothered to) put it all together yet. I don't think anyone's routed episode 2 yet. We will probably need to time the choices and stuff. By the we get to episode 5 runs, this is going to take forever. Anyone planning on full-game runs when episode 5 is out?

Okay so, I think the problem is. We currently have Episode 1 and 2 as full game categories, not Individual levels. If we make individual levels for each category and use those until full game comes out, then the all optional photos will show up, since you've put them under individual level categories. I can probably set this up but I don't know if I can transfer the times from the main game categories too individual levels

I think people would need to re-submit their times to move those into individual levels but if we're going to do that it would be best to do it now before episode 2 times start being added.

We would be able to do all of it, except the runner who submitted it. Try getting Yeti, Lo1ts and Scoot to remember and re-submit their runs in that category.

Is it just me or does Tokens Episode 2 run go blank after 9 minutes and then come back like 20-30 later? Like that's a big problem.

Oh hey it's Zero Shift lel, Also yea, New patch. There's some new stuff in episode 1. I'll try to list what I've noticed.

I couldn't 1 cycle paint, I was doing all photos though and looked at the squirrel before starting the cycle though so maybe that's why? Token said he could still 1 cycle on xbox one after patch.
Spirit Deer is much more visible. Maybe just me imagining things. Same with a few more dialogue options, could just be me imagining it.
Door at the bottom of Chloes stairs leading through garage to tool and back, Could you do that before? If you could I had no idea. Would it be faster to open it and leave it open to go both ways?
The end cutscene had subtitles, I don't remember that.

Any and all of this could not be new and me just not remembering the game right though since it's been a while. Just thought I'd mention it in case it was new. Anyone wanna figure out how to get the old patch just in case?

As Robots said, after the 1.3GB patch, I was able to do the 1 cycle paint bucket trick even though it's supposed to be patched out. Here's the link: http://www.speedrun.com/Life_Is_Strange/run/57917

As for my episode 2 run, I did that run when my net was on a skits so it could have been that although I can watch it just fine (give time stamp of when blank happens?). Also, I used the LGP (which I don't use anymore) and that was acting up after 25 minutes for unknown reasons. With that, I have to actually re-do that run anyways.

Nah man, It was on my end, I guess I never brought it up again, but something was wrong with my video codec and it caused some videos to crash to just a black screen, after fixing it your video worked fine. Tongue

I actually won't be able to route it this week, out of town for a while. One thing that might be interesting is at the end. If I remember correctly, you can choose to go back to either episode 1 or 2. I have absolutely no idea how that affects the rest of the game, and which episode is faster for running

Honestly, I say we just wait until all five episodes have been released, or at least the fourth is released. At this point, we have no idea how our actions will affect later episodes, especially now with that bomb that was the ending to episode 3. Hell, we don't even know if our actions we be for nothing in the end (though I doubt this, as people would have a cow about that). Maybe it's faster to let Kate die, but we don't know if Kate will become important later.

What i'm trying to say is, why kill ourselves testing every little thing, when we can wait and have everything right there in front of us to plan. Granted, things will get incredibly hairy by the end, but this will happen regardless

If you do plan to test everything out, then I say god's speed my friend thumbsup
