Life Is Strange Speedrunning

Since I havn't seen anything about speedrunning Life is Strange recently, I thought I'd make this. I don't know how many other people are going to try and speedrun the game. I only know DeadRobots (ManifestMechanics) is going to start as am I. My idea for routing shorter paths is to record all the choices and use the LiveSplit video timer system, and add up all the time to do with choices. Post here for anything on Life is Strange speedrunning!

Wake up and be awesome

Did just some random testing with this game, and so far in episode one, this is what I have

For all the options, I timed them, up to Warren's conversation in the parking lot, because there are so many fucking choices for that convesation. Obviously, the major choices will have a big impact in later episodes, so the choices might be switched eventually, but here they are anyway

Classroom: Right, talk with Mr. Jefferson immediatly, Right.
Hallway: Might want to inspect one of the missing person posters, otherwise you'll inspect one once you leave the school
Classroom 2: Right, talk with Mr. Jefferson, Left, rewind and left again, skipping the conversation (you can't leave after you talk with him for the first time)
Bathroom: Inspect the firealarm, rewind, move the cart, pick up the hammer, then smash the fire alarm
Principal: Right
Get Victoria to move: after talking with her, turn on the sprinklers, wait for the janitor to climb the ladder, then rewind but not to a point before the sprinklers were turned off, tamper with the paint can. Then Left on conversation
Dorm: Left with what's her face, Watson
Harrasing Kate: Left

That's all I've gotten so far. I'll record a run later, once I've got all the conversations down

I agree, there are so many choices there. I'm going to try and get through them at some point. Sorry for the delay, I've been quite busy this week. Do you record runs or do you stream them on Twitch (or a streaming service like that)
This thread is under 'Newer Consoles' because it should be easier to use a controller instead of KBAM because of LMB + Direction rather than just a simple button. I'm still working on this thing that lets me use a PS3 controller as an Xbox controller on Steam, which makes it easier for me

I actually was running a pirated version (yes, I know I'm an asshole, but to make things better, I did get a virus from it Tongue

), however, I'm downloading the xbox360 version now, so at least the developers will get my money.

I do have a twitch account and I occasionally stream, but it's kind of a hassle for me, so I rarely stream. But I'll do it if you want me to

I know what you mean. Don't worry about it. For me, it's practically impossible for me to stream without my laptop dying. Yeah, I get that some people pirate them, but I've been a fan of DONTNOD since Remember Me, so I have RM, the Combo Lab DLC (Steam) and Life Is Strange. I got the Season Pass a few hours ago so I have access to all of the episodes upon their release. Do you have an easier way of PMing me (I don't really read Twitch and SDA messages) if you need to? I understand if you dont, but I've had a lot of net problems recently, meaning that PMing me through the above listed ways are very unreliable to me

Skype is definitely the 2nd best way to reach me. Steam is the best way, since if I'm home, I'm on Steam. Same with Skype, but sometimes I have to close Skype to run some stuff, but yeah, Skype is definitely a good way to reach me

Sup folks. I'm fool enough to route and run this game apparently. Got a 51:19 last night, sub 50 is probably gonna be doable without much trouble. Gonna route stuff today and post what I find.

I've gotta try that. I think that we should run with controllers to save miliseconds on choices because we press a button instead of click and dragging. Also, are there any differences in the Steam version and console versions that we know of?
