Speed is all that matters.
Quote from Edenal:
European Speedster Assembly is growing way bigger than any of us could have anticipated. This is very exiting for all of us, but it will also demand more effort to gather tech and consoles for the event.

I am going to be responsible for rounding up streaming equipment, gaming PC's, additional cables, extension cords and similar equipment.
Neviutz is going to organize and handle everything related to consoles. That being games, controllers and what type of A/V connections and power sources.

Our expectations:
- You are expected to bring at least games you are running along with your own controller.
- Console is mandatory if you are the only runner on that platform.
- If you're from the UK, US, or any other country that uses different power sockets than Sweden, please ensure that you will have some sort of travel adapter/converter for your console.
- If your console is modded or soft-modded let us know.

- PC runners will in addition to bringing the game, make sure that your games is able to run in 720p50, 720p59.94, 720p60 or in windowed mode. If this is not possible, you will need to help us figure out the solution to capture the video.
- PC runners will need to configure their games prior to the start of the marathon. Unless you provide your own laptop with HDMI output, in compliance with the video specifications stated above.

Description of the stream setup
We are generalizing the setup as much as humanly possible. We are looking to minimize the amount of cables-swaps, minimize the amount of times we have to change settings for the capture card from PAL to NTSC, interlaced to progressive, SD to HD. Anyone should be able to handle the stream after a 5 minute crash course.

We will be running all console (SD/HD) through a distribution amplifier to ensure there is absolutely no input delay for the runner.
We will be running all SD consoles through an upscaler (Accepts Composite, S-video, RGB and HDMI) so that we can capture the video without ever changing any settings on the stream machine. (This step will compromise the video quality a tiny bit. But we believe the trade-off is worth it.)
Examples with the scaler are shown here: http://www.lidholt.se/images/scaler/Scaler_1.jpg (Batman through composite)  / http://www.lidholt.se/images/scaler/Scaler_2.jpg (Terranigma through RGB)
We will be running all HD consoles through component. (Not HDMI to avoid any HDCP issues).
PC gaming are descriped above.

What we need (List what you can bring)
Splitters (1 in - 2+ out)  HDMI
Switches (2+ in - 1 out) Composite / SCART / Component / HDMI
Extension chords for controllers.

Schematics

Switch
Fully wired.
(These are 149 SEK from a retailer. We need at least 4 of these. There are bigger switches with more than 3 output, but they are way more expensive, so I think it will be cheaper to simply chain 2-3 of these switches to get the same results.)  Additional information about switches: http://www.videogameperfection.com/av-gear/scart-switch-roundup/

Distribution Amplifiers

Quote from Edenal:
I've said this on Skype / IRC / PM a couple of times, but I feel like I should make it crystal clear.

Unlike *GDQ, we will not record your runs, encode and upload in high quality. We don't have the man power nor equipment to handle that. If you want to record your run, you will have to hook up the console to a DVD-recorder / Capture device yourself.

Please list what consoles, equipment, and games you can bring.
If you have any questions that do not fit into one or two sentences, feel free to PM Edenal or me.

If you list non-marathon games you will bring, please ensure to separate them from the marathon important things.
Other than that, please try to stay on topic!

I'll be bringing an Asus X93SV laptop. It's got HDMI out so If needed I could play my game on it.
I'd also let other people practice/run their games on it if needed.
I run Q.U.B.E. windowed at 1280x768. Will that resolution be a problem? The game doesn't support 720p.
Reverse Death Valley Bomb

Of course I have more I can bring for other runs if necessary (but I really don't want to.) I'll wait to see If I'm going to have to bring more.

If people want to play Chu chu rocket then it would be a good idea to find someone else with controllers as I only have 1 properly working here. Also just to make it clear my equipment may or may not be available to everyone at all times, but if you want to play I would greatly appreciate it if you asked first and if I'm unavailable to simply wait until I am. Last year I had to walk around the venue to find some of my games that people borrowed without asking first and I found it very disrespectful.

I myself didnt notice any of that, but i understand your concern. There will probably be more local spectators this time and being extra careful with the stuff your bring is probably a good idea.

What is a man?
I can and probably will bring a GameCube with 1 GC Controller, 1 Gameboy Player and the GBA game Castlevania:Harmony of dissonance, hoping to run it in the bonus stream, but if anyone else wants to run a GBA game I could lend my GC + GBP setup Cheesy

And because it didn't jump into my eye, I'll add it here:

Remember to label each and every piece of your equipment!

This cannot be said too many times! Smiley

Audio-guy. twitchtv:ohgoddamnit
Outside of a bunch of audio hardware that isn't meant to leave that section of the streaming room I'm bringing:
- A DYMO labeller because we are a forgetful species
- A bundle of janky BILTEMA ballpoint pens that I don't want to take home again

- An ancient clunky old laptop running linux w/ mouse, tethered to my phone. Will use it for audio-work while at the board.
- Two spare phones with chargers, in case someone's phone dies hard and they will have trouble getting home properly without one (bring your own SIM card)

If some insurance can be worked out from ESA to me I'll have no problem bringing my supergun rig with joysticks and SNK vs Capcom (only PCB I have at the moment) for exotic break-room entertainment (requires RGB Scart CRT tv). This is mainly about how the joysticks cannot be easily replaced (NeoGeo AES mk1, mk2) and the SuperGun is out of production. Would be easier with SNES to NeoGeo pin DB15 adapters and SNES sticks or pads of course.
