I'll do a run or two this weekend, and will try to get a decent time on my "meramon skip" route. The current Monzaemon strat (I didn't know it was possible to go thru Misty trees without fighting Otamamon) is definitely faster than my old MegaSeadramon route.
EDIT: We should really look into finding a TASer to TAS this game, it'd improve our route choices a lot and we'd get to see a lot of golden poop. I'll ask around.
About the run himself...i was wondering if selling the chips (off, hp, brains..) isn't the best way to get money instead doing the money trick? maybe training sometimes some atributes is faster then money trick...
Some sugestion too, is when u get mt infinity open, dont give food or poo digimon...since i think he won't die until machinedramon, so is a time improve...
i dont thik sell the chips and train is faster perhaps only selling some hp and mp and give him food at mt infinity y i souldnt do this but let him poop on the floor i think i took more time and i have to check something about the moneyglich when is the best time and how muc i have to buy and perhaps i can do some fights faster if i use attack disks i have to check this perhaps today or tomorrow
Try to improve how much time u need to go shopping is a great improve too...but, about the route instead its a very solid one...i don't think u can improve more either
I just have a question when u get centaurmon, u go to ancient dino region automatic...u fight tyranomon right?
isn't best u get MS, then go to centaurmon > fight tyrano and recruit?
u dont have to fight him and if i want to recruit him i need to fight him and! this gotsumon /meteor mon or how his name was and y took some time so i dont recruit him doing a run in 20 min
I've said it before and I'll say it again, Bonus slots x4 is faster in the long run, they're not nearly as "luck" based as you think. My success rate is around 75 to 80% and yes there is a 10% "screw you" slot chance that I've noticed.
Golden Poop...Yeah...I've gotten I think 2 in a row before, but I swear it's frame perfect to hit it. I can easily hit the first two but honestly that last one I believe is FRAME perfect. There is an easy pattern to hit but unless you really study it...
Monzaemon is the current fastest known route, in which training is done only to reach day 5 faster, so there is no point on doing bonus training. I tried doing the poop bonus with slowmo a while ago and most of the time the game wouldn't let you and would skip the last poop (is that the "screw you" chance?). Anyway I don't know how to do the x4 bonuses in a reliable way, if you can give some tips it'd be great
About the money, I have tought of selling chips too. You still need a minimum of about 50k bits to buy enough recoveries and MP disks. Each chip sells for 5k, so it might be possible to skip money trick with a better itemization. Still, I believe it's worth doing it.
Here's some numbers:
- Each MR costs 500 bits, S.Def.Disks sell for 2000 bits. - We need 70k bits (for example), so that's 35 disks. - Each disk takes about 5 seconds to trade, so ~3 minutes trading. - 35 MR cost 17500 bits
but! chips increas the attack and speed def u can sell perhaps but why would you not take that free attack and speed and some of the HP MP and def perhaps u got a bit many hp chips i sell i think 2 or 3 of em mp i only use 1 i think and all att speed and def disks normaly i do the money glich at the time i wait to get sick but im not shure if i should drop fregiemon if i dont get a moldey meat i took soooo much time to get sick perhaps i try to get tyrannomon and then i can buy a moldey meat so i can skip monzaemon and do gabumon i think i try it now ... my aktual run is so bad XD i think i reset and try this
Because that's where instead of spending time doing the money trick you can use it to train, get more and sell the chip thus negating the time it would take to GO THERE, do the glitch and then continue on. Besides 1 hour of bonus training can in theory be faster than using chips and having to use them.
Also Yeah the Golden Poop is a complete crapshoot. I don't know if it's determined on the FIRST slot or not because I have somehow pulled it twice in a row and then there will be times I know I've hit the button at the right time and it either goes one long or one short. x4 Bonuses though can do the same thing, however they have a much lower chance *Thus the 10% screw you chance the game does*. Usually when I do the bonus slots I just read patterns quickly and then time it. Golden Poop IS timeable but because it's so unreliable...Basically it's a 2 second from when you see it to time you see it again. You see it hit the middle and say 1, 2 and it's pretty consistent. You could use the same theory with bonus slots I'm sure.
did some 1 now if monzaemon can trigger fregimon if you give him moldey meat? i try this now but i dont realy now if it works if some 1 nows it tell me pls nvm doesnt work
but if some 1 exakly nows how to learn techniks would be awsom some ppl say your digimon have do be hit by the attack some say you only have to ''see'' the tech some say just beat the digimon from that you can learn the tech so if some 1 nows exakly how pls tell me
MetaSigma: Chips are in the way so they don't take extra time compared to training (a few seconds for pickup & feed), and the money trick should be placed in a run when you have to go Freezeland to minimize the time lost. There are 6-8 chips that could be sold since they are not that useful for speedrunning purposes (HP, MP and Brains). Anyway, you are welcome to do a route/run with bonus trainings Jinzo: You'd have no way of recruiting him anyway because you need to digivolve (unless you digivolve to sukamon).
You still need a minimum hp of around 4000, isn't it? I don't think selling the chips is a good idea, because the bonus stats are just too good to pass up, plus they mostly make fights shorter or safer. I think the day 2 money trick is worthwhile because you can grab penguinmon on the way, but then again it is also kind of a trip to a place you don't need to go to yet, unless you go to otamon and then get to and open mount panorama through the back way.
In other news, it seems like a two hour run is possible, given the amount of time wasted in Jinzo's 2:36:42 run, but we'll see, it is mostly luck.
EDIT: So it seems that slots are frame dependent and not luck. A Japanese TASer figured that one out. It isn't random, but I'm not sure how to replicate it. Which means the probability isn't random, it is just frame dependent... Which is annoying as all hell.
Slots are not frame dependent they are RNG dependent
Quote:
I adjust it by basic movement moving a chief character as an adjustment method of the slots which I performed (whenever digimon stops movement, a random number changes one by one) and use the effect of the floppy when time suffers by the method and move a random number at a stretch.
Some cool stuff here though idk if slot manipulation would be useful in a run at this point though. looks like it takes some setting up.
