Can confirm that it works on Steam version of Arkham City, on kb/m, both versions of the zip, for Batman and Catwoman (and probably Robin too).
Enter any corner cover, tap the aim button, no matter which gadget (the hook has slower animation than batarang) and while Batman takes gadget away, tap aim again and tap exit corner right after that. If camera angle changes, you got it, now just shoot any quickfire gadget. This zip works the same way as when you catch remote batarang.
OR:
Enter a double-sided corner cover, switch side and during the animation tap aim and tap exit cover. This zip works differently from what i have seen.
Make sure you're using right button to exit corner cover – i don't know which one it is on controller, but on keyboard ctrl does that and space does not.

Thanks you, I can do it now. I am really the slowest of slowpoke. Maybe it's because of my english but the description isn't explaning it like that in my opinion. Anyways! Bat-thanks again.

So do you get different results in city using the new zip compared to the remote bat catch method? guessing it's pretty much equal.

Yeah, not sure what it is on kb, but on xbox the A button (same button used for grates, running, confirming menus and entering corner cover) is "Exit Corner Cover" and activates the glitch, whereas B (capestun, drop down from a ledge, cancelling menus) is what I think of as "cancel corner cover" and does not seem to do the glitch.

So, the key question (or at least one of them...) is does Pole storage = Freeze Hover Anywhere?

Also, if you can store states into new areas and re-store them, then there's a number of new possible timesavers (including getting into Riddler 5 from OOB, getting into the Museum from OOB, more fight skips, perhaps a faster way to climb wonder tower, or perhaps even a way to make zipping faster than grapnel boost and cut that sidequest!)

RoboSparkle: I tested it just now, and yes, you can do the Freeze Grenade infinite jump / hover wherever you want by pole storage.

EDIT: climb infinitely high using Line Launcher... should come in handy.

EDIT: leave an extra Line Launcher wire someplace. This trick is interesting, but only time will tell if it will be of any use...
