Hey I have a couple questions. The first one I've seen some other people ask, which is just how do we know which racers are in? In particular the 96 exit race has 6 potential racers. My second question is that both 95 Exit No Cape and 96 Exit for Super Mario World appear to have made it in even though they are both longer categories for the same game. Are they really both in?

Mike hasn't finished selecting individual runners. If he hasn't decided by Wednesday, your registration is free regardless of whether you're selected or not. Merry Holiday of your choosing.
Many of the "waitlist" runs are for this purpose.
Mike says that one's gonna have to take some time to figure out. It's going to be a single runner.

There's no reason to need to "unregister" from attending. If you decide not to go to AGDQ even as an attendee, your submission was free regardless, so there would be no refund to offer.
But you MUST register in the week period mentioned above or your run will be rejected.

Ah, ok, I thought registering was the same as RSVP'ing. In other words "I'll definitely be at the event."

The main purpose is to avoid runners from going AWOL between now and AGDQ, and then showing up at the event needing to register
If you need to withdraw your game submission, that's a different story, and we would want to know about that.

Some waitlisted runners are being selected for a race, and that'll be 100% when the schedule goes up. Others are also waitlisted because there's a billion runners for a single game that isn't a race, and Mike is looking into them further before scheduling one.
The last few waitlisted runs (generally any game with only a single runner) are just waiting in case of drops as mentioned before. You should practice, but we obviously can't guarantee you a spot in the event.

My submission for Mega Man glitchless was waitlisted as was DXTR's any% submission. I was told this was because they had the same estimate (his run is faster, obviously, but his estimate just more conservative). He is already running for sure and I will be there for sure (I like 5 miles from AGDQ), so this doesn't affect plans, but are you trying to decide between glitchless and any%? Obviously both would not be accepted. Is there any consideration that I have no runs and he has some, either in his favor or mine?
Just curious the process. Also love DXTR and he is a machine so I would completely understand my run not getting chosen, just curious. Also wondering if a more recent video would help glitchless since my video is a tad old.

I wanted to ask about a waitlisted run as well. Is my waitlisted race of Lost Levels only there in case one of the mario block races falls apart or is it being considered? I understand if you cannot give me an answer but I was just curious. I also wanted to add that I forgot to edit my video. I now have a 15:12 in Lost Levels (got the same time twice tonight) which would make a closer race than the original video suggested.

just_defend's Hard Mode run of Castlevania IV is in, though the added comment asks to be a donation incentive. My any% run is waitlisted still. I understand general reasoning of the waitlist, however this situation seems really confusing. I only see these situations here:
1. Comment is scrapped, Hard Mode is locked in the schedule
2. Any% is in, reach $xxx for Hard Mode instead of any%
3. Hard Mode takes priority, possible dropouts to fit any% as well? (i don't see how this one is likely)

I submitted my new twr for max payne 2 a couple days ago and changed the estimate, since I hadn't changed it since I submitted it weeks ago.

Can we have any insight about how these runners are chosen? My SOMA run is the only one I have progressing and I'd really like to make it as my attendance is likely dependent on me being chosen as the runner (two other runners also are listed as "Progessing"). I've been practicing and improving my time, but I want to check if I can improve my chances through other factors.

When will these runners know if their game gets accepted or rejected? Whether I go or not depends on whether my run gets in. The longer it takes for my game to be officially accepted or rejected the less likely I will be able to go and the more expensive it will be for me to book my flights.

So, im confused. Was my run waitlisted because of the wrong vod or because "show up lol maybe youll get in"?
Seems like kind of a long run for a maybe. Its also an expensive trip for a maybe.

My question is pertaining to the Blaster Master race. It is listed as progressing for all 7 people that submitted it. I highly doubt a 7 person race would happen, so how are the final racers chosen? If by PB, i recently improved my time to 32:48, and am in 2nd place, right behind the WR holder. Also, me and the WR holder (ShiningDragoon) raced Blaster Master for the Best of NES marathon on Sunday, and we finished literally seconds apart from each other.
