Crawlathon WR, get down on my level.
The games list was cut down this weekend by Mike. I'm going to give him the rest of the day today to go over the list and double-check some things (particularly the dupes). We will be making the announcement tonight.

Any last-second questions about cuts should be posted immediately, I will have Mike follow up on them this week. We won't be taking more questions once registration is up.
Will Mike (or whoever makes the response) look through the thread and be sure to answer any unanswered questions about submissions? There are still a lot of unanswered questions.

I'm pretty sure I've caught up on everything in this thread prior to the ~last page, either publicly or privately. If someone's missing a response, then just post it again. Mike's got some time this week to do that, but we aren't going to keep discussing cuts indefinitely.

The comment on my DKC2 102% submission is "we don't think a race is a good idea for this game."

Is that because of the time differential between v0oid and myself the moment?  i.e., if I'm able to cut another minute or two off of my time by the marathon, would we be able to have me join him for a race after all?  There have been races of DKC2 at past marathons, and each have them have been pretty close at the end.  102% races can oftentimes go down to the wire as well.

Also, I'm not entirely sure what "waitlist" means in my case, since my game/category does indeed appear to be getting in.

Regardless of my own status - I think you're making a great choice with putting this run in!!! v0oid will put on an exceptional show and I'll do my best with commentary, whether I'm playing or not!
MrGrunz is a guay
I noticed that my OoT master quest all dungeons and dungeon skulltulas run changed from rejected to wait list while regular all dungeons remains progressing.  I know waitlist is supposed to generally be in for runs that could be added to the schedule later in case of drops, but what does it mean here?  Is there a chance it could be done as a donation incentive?

I guess I'll ask for an opinion, thanks for a response. Was wondering why Q*Bert 3 (SNES) was rejected. Run is almost as optimized as can be and is within 3 minutes of the current TAS (1:05:04 vs 1:02:59). Run may be improved very slightly, so I am looking for feedback if this run is worth investing more time into to submit to further events. Run has been rejected for 3 GDQs in a row, just looking for feedback. Thanks.

Mine was missed and any simple feedback will help if this run is something people want to see, or if it is dead at this point. Thanks.

There's a lot of games sitting in waitlist for the moment, as Mike is being cautious about putting games completely through to accept before the schedule is made. Some waitlisted games may be accepted if there's additional time on the schedule after all is set, while others may be left as waitlist in case of drops.
Why Getus Fuuma Den was rejected?
Quote from VB_srl:
Hi, I asked earlier but didn't get a response.

I was just wondering why Knytt Stories was rejected and what I can do to improve submissions of it to future GDQs.

Never got an answer for this.
Pudding%
I'm actually quite curious why for my Hero Core submission any% is still progressing while 100% was waitlisted, even though I mentioned quite specifically in my pitch that I felt any% would make a better donation incentive than standalone run. A good any% run (ie, deathless) would take less time than the setup would, and shows very little of the game. The main reason I submitted it alongside 100% was primarily to give it an estimate in the case of it being a donation incentive.

He was leaving it on the burner as he was cutting for time. It's fixed now.

Here's the latest cut explanations:

Getus Fuuma Den:
A lot of overworld walking kills the pacing, overall not considered that good of a watch.

Knytt Stories:
There seems to be a lot of small technical tricks, but overall nothing impressive to the casual viewer. Basically, too "relaxed". Mike said maybe if there was a mode with more enemies or something, for the future?

Cool Spot:
There was a lot of similar platformers submitted, that's basically it. Something had to give.

None of them are as rad as Cool Spot though. B-(

But seriously, I looked through the games list and didn't see anything that fills the silly "advergame" slot this year. You can also cut the estimate down to 15:00 if that helps since I set the estimates a little too high for all my games.
Totally Radical Awesome Game
I assume Klonoa was waitlisted because the vod linked was incorrect. (nice heads up btw)
anyway, it should be fixed now, I do actually run the game.
I'd like to know why Skyrim and Daggerfall are on the waitlist. I was hoping to get the whole TES Anthology in as a relay so I'm a little worried about there being no TES games in at all. If it's a question of one or the other, the games and speedruns are very different as the games were released 15 years apart.

Could I also get a reason for Dredd vs Death's rejection? Thanks.

The games list is now FINAL. Note that of course, as usual, it is subject to change as there may be drops, etc. What you see on the submissions page is WHAT YOU GET.

Also, just a reminder of the following:

1. Registration will now be opening on Wednesday night. Runners MUST register before November 11th, 9PM EST. If you do not register for the event, your run WILL be deleted, and everyone will be sad.
2. Runners will complete the attendee registration process as normal. Anyone with a run marked "progress" / "accept" / "bonus" / "waitlist" will be free.
3. Runners will receive an email at the launch of registration informing them of all the above.
4. The schedule will not be available for a while, as final scheduling will be dependent on runners completing registration. Schedule will be posted on the main site when it is prepared, and runners will be notified via email that they have been scheduled.

Progress = you're going to scheduling, aka, you're in.
Waitlist = You might just make it, depends on drops/race assignments
Bonus = All depends on leftover time at the event, donations, etc.

ABOUT MULTIPLE RUNNERS/RACE SELECTIONS

Mike hasn't finished selecting individual runners. If he hasn't decided by Wednesday, your registration is free regardless of whether you're selected or not. Merry Holiday of your choosing.

Many of the "waitlist" runs are for this purpose.

I'm still seeing 266 hours under progressing on the submissions page, so it looks like it hasn't pushed live yet?

That's including duplicates probably
Wait so... is my run marked as "Progress" in? Im really confused

Races push that number far higher than the actual schedule length.
So, it's correct in showing that over 100 entries are still marked as "maybe" (waitlist)? That seems excessive.

Some are racers currently waiting assignment/picks.
hey matty.  Final Fantasy 4 has 4 or 5 runners progressing.  Will we know who's running it on Wednesday when the e-mails go out?
<(^_^)>
So what's the verdict on the zero mission category and runner?
So what does waitlist really mean? if a run is needed it will be done? I guess that makes sense, but there is a lot of waitlisted games
