AGDQ 2016 Game Submissions Information (Submissions are now closed)

The committee made a decision based on the details made available. They opted out of a three-way race. If you or the other runner would like to drop your spot for geridesu to run since the times are so close, that would need to be arranged between you three. The committee made a decision based on the details made available.  They opted out of a three-way race. If you or the other runner would like to drop your spot for geridesu to run since the times are so close, that would need to be arranged between you three.  Please let us know if you would like to do so.

We're working on some final touches for the schedule (adjusting some setup blocks). We're looking to have the schedule out ASAP. Once again, we apologize for the delay.

I received a couple of inquiries regarding waitlist, and feel that it should be cleared up. Under no circumstances are waitlisted runners required to attend AGDQ. If you are waitlisted, there are a few reasons why:

1. Your game was accepted, and the committee needed to choose/sort runners. Unfortunately, you were not chosen, but we wanted to make sure you keep your free registration, since we did take extra time to sort everything out. Since rejected runners aren't flagged for free registration, we moved you to waitlist instead.

2. Your game was waitlisted. If a runner happens to drop their game (which could happen any time, depending on the runner's personal life), we will go through the waitlist with these thoughts in mind:

-Is the estimate similar to the estimate of the dropped game?
-Will tech be able to adjust to this game change without excessive delays?
-Is the runner in attendance?
-Are they comfortable and/or available to do their run at this time?

We totally understand if a waitlisted runner chooses not to attend AGDQ, especially since we can't guarantee waitlisted runners a spot in the marathon.

I hope this helps a little bit in clearing up the confusion around the waitlist. Moving forward, we're going to make changes to the process so that we don't leave runners with a lot of confusion surrounding their submission (there will be more on this later, when we're not rushing around preparing for the event).

Due to recent changes I've been trying to solve my situation but have been unable to, therefore the Dying Light Any% run that is planned has to be removed, was hoping to get redemption to do it instead of me but he might not go to the event so better safe than sorry.

Completely understandable, I wasn't sure if that might affect anything or not given there isn't anybody to really commentate for the game otherwise for a Japanese runner. It's looking like I'll be there a bit earlier in the week, but I'm still not 100%. Whatever happens, happens, I won't complain if the run is early in the marathon.

Well the point is she was excluded because of consistency apparently, which doesn't seem like a good reason since she is very consistent, and with all our times being so close, we feel that she is equally deserving of the opportunity for both these reasons. So it would have been nice for a 3-way race to go ahead, but I guess there's no budging on this now? We'll let you know if we want to swap runners, but thanks for the reply and apologies for being rude.

Unfortunately, something important just came up that will conflict with AGDQ, so I have to withdraw my Jumper 2 submission. Sorry I wasn't able to inform you guys of this before the schedule was made.

And I've been looking on the GDQ website for how to unregister, but I can't find it. How would I do that?

I have to agree with GVirus. Axiom Verge is a Metroidvania game inspired by 2D Metroid games and while it being between 2 2D Indie platformers currently is awesome, it would be a much better fit either before Metroid Fusion or after Zero Mission, even though that would break up the "Metroid" block. Of course I'm not the one to decide this, but just throwing out my support as a runner of both Zero Mission and Fusion.

Quick question - this looks like the right place to ask. First of all, thanks for accepting me and my friend (Bom / BumCommando)'s run. We are running Spelunky HD - All Shortcuts + Olmec. My status got set to "waitlist" because AGDQ didn't want a race. AGDQ offered to let us do a relay run instead of a race or 1 man run, and we decided this relay run would be awesome and would like to do that. We are prepared for when to hand off the controller and discussed details about it, and also have 2 couch commentators coming along.

Could we get this indicated on the schedule (that we are doing a relay run)?

Doom 3 (I could have bet money I made this post already, maybe the forums ate it?):

It was a combination of the game being extremely dark (Also an issue with Doom 64 last SGDQ), and it had competition with wolfenstein/dying light for the schedule at the time. It's not one of the more popular Doom runs. It might have a chance in the future, but it won't ever be an easy pitch.

Unfortunately I will not be able to do my Separate Ways run at AGDQ. I was not able to prepare properly due to other priorities but I will make it to the Event though. However, Auddy07, who will also be there could replace me so you do not have to change the schedule. This is his run:
