I don't see Haunted Castle at all, was it rejected? it was on waitlist
I personally like how the F-Zero block is atm. It makes it easier for me to watch all of the games. Blocks are pretty subjective.

Quote from TheMG2:
Actually, looking at the schedule, the setup slot labeled "Animal Setup" is between the 3D Sonic Block and the F-Zero block. I kinda doubt that animal crossing, even as a bonus game, would be the best thing to put between sonic and f-zero. Judging from how Pikmin 3 suffered at AGDQ 2014 from being slower paced than the run before it (Viewtiful Joe), Animal Crossing is probably not as fast paced as Sonic nor F-Zero. No idea if the runner has restrictions on dates they can run though.

I have to echo this as well. The Pikmin 3 run was really good and pretty well executed; however it got really negative reception just because it followed after viewtiful joe. I feel that animal crossing would get horrible reception no matter how good the run is, just from being between two of the fastest-paced franchises. (I'm not saying animal crossing is not entertaining; I think it's very cool, but it's slower-paced and what happened to pikmin 3 will almost definitely happen again if it stays like this)
One thing I want to mention in case reflected doesn't speak up is for dkc2 race he personally plays on an lcd display at home and as such has input lag to worry about. Having just one day to prepare for that is a little bit rough in my opinion for someone to switch to completely different input lag. Claude also mentioned on irc that since its his first live event, he would definitely like a little bit more time to prepare for it to make it the best show possible.

I agree with what TheMG2 and kirbymastah said about Animal Crossing, seeing as I'm running it.  Putting it between two fast paced games might not be the best choice.  I'm pretty positive I'll be at the marathon for the entire time, so scheduling really isn't much of an issue for me personally, assuming it can be changed.  If not though, I'll just have to deal with it I guess.

I don't know how much this matters in the scheme of things, but my general opinion looking at the schedule is that there are a lot of "theme blocks" (almost too many), some of which make sense and others that should be divided. Sometimes the progression is weird (going from Mario Kart 8 to Wii, or Tropical Freeze to DKC2, for instance), sometimes the block is too much at once (4 F-Zero games in a row), and other times the blocks are too close together (Classic Mega Man leading into Mega Man X). I think theme blocks work best when the order of games being played makes sense, and they don't have you hanging on for hours at a time. The Commander Keen block makes sense to me, for instance; the games are played in order, and in total they take less than an hour. The Mario Bros. block of 5 games in a row is, for example, something that I would split (Lost Levels to New Super Mario Wii, though I guess you could say that block ends after Marisa). The Zelda block of Minish Cap, ALttP, and Majora's Mask is one I would split up across 3 days, one game a day. Anyway I like the game choices and thanks for reading my feedback.
My feelings on The Demon Rush
HonorableJay: Best runner, Arkham games are long and there's enough skips that will need explaining.

Kotti: If you feel that way, that's fine, but blocks are there so that people interested in a series can catch the entire series (or a large part) at once.

StingerPA: First time game that will need some explaining. I can possibly consider a race.

Jaguar King: Yes it was rejected.

Animal Crossing: I'll think about putting it somewhere else.

Garrison: If reflected plays on an lcd then I'm not sure how quickly he will get used to a CRT, or if we can find a monitor that has the same amount of input lag. In Claude's case, I hope he gets plenty of practice before he arrives.

Golden: As I said earlier, I think series blocks work for people who are interested in watching a series. Thanks for reading my answer.
As somebody who is very interested in seeing one of these blocks, it would be annoying for me to have to check in at two different times for the same series for what reason exactly?

There are people who will see 6 hours of Zelda/<insert series here> and tune out, too. I think blocks work but not everything needs to be in a block. Just my opinion.

Wouldn't it be better to have 2-3 shorter blocks that could bring the fans to the stream more than once? That way the people not interested in the series would also be less likely to stop watching.

There are going to be people who see any amount of <insert game they aren't interested in> and tune out. We don't expect to hold people for the entirety of the marathon.

Hey guys- I'm not sure if this is where I should be posting this question, but where do I go to apply to be a volunteer/donation reader for AGDQ 2015? I'll be there from the 5th-10th and I'd be happy to help any way I can. Thank you for your help =)
You should wait for the volunteer thread to go up.

I'm a little surprised you didn't have Trio and Karnov next to each other, given DATA EAST and all that Wink

Other than that schedule looks good, though I thought that Kirby and Sam were gonna race MZM any% Hard? Did Kirby drop it?
Kirby dropped all his games.
Is Hanage one of the 4-way race runners for Super Castlevania 4?

I understand your argument against blocks of an excessive length, but that would only really apply to long/boring games that drone on, using F-Zero as an example is almost insulting to the series.  The 4 F-Zero games will likely take around 3.5 hours, which isn't long at all, especially considering the amount of content they will be flying through.

Also, I like how the 2D Sonics are not on the second day.  They will finally get the viewercount they deserve.

EDIT:  It looks like Minecraft is on the last day, but wouldnt it be better to have it earlier?  That way you can rake in the viewers from the widespread-minecraft appeal, and then the extra boost of viewers can have a longer effect on the marathon as a whole.

I just want to echo what Garrison said in regards to the DKC2 race being scheduled as the second game in the marathon. 3/4s of the race will be coming from the West Coast and we will not have a lot of time to get situated properly before the race actually begins. I've spoken to Krauser who also says that he will be arriving on day 2 of the marathon. Not sure what the chance of a push would be, but it currently doesn't work well for all of us.

Only KSS made it as far as Kirby games? Sadface Sad
And that's a weird sight to see that a FF is in and it's not the finale, but then again 3 hours tells me its the YW run, so I can see why.
Time to prepare myself for staying up at long and late hours during the marathon! Tongue

Most of the reason why more Kirby games aren't in is because of Dream Land 3 co-op, which ended up getting rejected in the end. This was from one of the Kirby runners who got rejected. http://i.imgur.com/yZVLX2B.png. The quotes are Mike's response to when he asked why his run got rejected. That logic there makes it seem like literally every other Kirby run got rejected due to KDL3 co-op, which got submitted earlier than all other Kirby runs. I agree with 0xwas running KSS since his runs of that game are always a really great watch, but if that's actually true, then this is not fair whatsoever to any other Kirby runners who worked hard on their run. It's basically saying that we're not running the right games so therefore you get no chance.

I saw that message I linked before I even submitted my runs btw, so at that point I was just gonna submit Squeak Squad for shits and giggles. I knew before I submitted a run I've been working really hard on since just after last AGDQ would get rejected before I even submitted it and now that the reason why it got rejected is out of the marathon in the end, it just all seems really wrong man. It doesn't feel good at all. Sad

To be quite honest, the Kirby community would benefit really well from other great Kirby runs being in there like Nightmare In Dreamland, Epic Yarn, and Squeak Squad. Plus a lot of people don't know how many people still actively run Kirby games too, so more exposure like this would have been amazing to grow the community and make people more interested in running the games in general. Seems like Super Star and Dream Land games are all that's ever featured in these marathons as far as Kirby games anyways...

There really can't be said that there's a wrong game to run. I don't do the full 100% KSS that other runners do, but it's what I like, and i'm working on Kirby 64 as well, and it was shot down in round 1 when Kefka offered it. You can't just pick and run games based SOLELY on how they'll do in marathons and such, you'll never get in.
Keeper of TASBot
Thank you for the consolidated TAS block on the first day (TASBot needs less practice than human runners :).  I will place the Mario Kart 64 race at the beginning of the block to tie in to the Mario Kart runs preceding it, although I do not yet know who the four human racers will be in the race.  I am hoping we can get a decent rolling cart with literally everything pre-staged on it to shorten setup time and help eliminate possible interference from crossed cables, which was our undoing during Gradius; I'll check with the tech crew on the feasibility of this.  Thanks for your hard work on the schedule!
