Deus Ex could have a bid war for the ending, I won't need to know until the very end and the time difference between them is fairly minimal (less than 5 minutes and that's being REALLY pessimistic). Dark Ages, Illuminati, and Ascension.
There's probably a smattering of other small things I could show off but I'll have to come up with a list after I figure out how much time they'd take.
There's a glitch I absolutely need to show off at the end of Duke Nukem 3D. I can probably add in a couple other oddities and make it an about 5 minute long glitch exhibition. Should still fit in the 25 minute time slot.
F-Zero GX 1. have cgn do a run of cosmo terminal and ill donate a dollar for every second that he's ahead of my pb. 2. for chapter 8, donations to give dark schneider a head start (up to 15-20 seconds, maybe $50 per second or something like that).
Yes, you can be small and have fire if you take a hit from Bowser and finish the stage simultaneously. I've gotten fairly consistent with getting it, so I think it could definitely work out. I'd also have multiple tries to do it throughout the run, and it really doesn't add time to the run (in fact, it seems to be very beneficial for certain later levels).
I guess you could call it a glitch-run challenge. It's interesting.
Yea, trident is a stupid level thats insanely hard, and its only 2 minutes long. And the headstart for deathborne would make an easy chapter interesting, and it would really catch people off guard.
We figured out another donation incentive for Secret of Mana: Bid War, Moogle Belt vs Midge Mallet vs None
To explain this: Midge Mallet would be in our route as a safety tool. It is used to negate any incoming spelldamage. Simply use the hammer on a character that is being cast on (usually twice to revert the midget-effect). Moogle Belt would fulfill the exact same job, the only difference is, that getting the Moogle Belt takes about 10 seconds longer. Getting none would probably make the run more interesting overall in the eyes of the viewers, since we are basically on a timer - we can negate all incoming spelldamage as long as we have enough consumable items. The automatic question arises: "But, doesn't that make the run non-marathon-safe?" The answer: It's been a long time since last time I actually needed much more than 8 candies throughout my entire run, and we will probably get 4 Honey and 4 Chocolate + restock at every opportunity. So no, the risk is still minimal.

The 2nd donation could work well if there's a cap put in place for however much CGN feels would be too much lost ground to make up (i.e. 30 seconds max, or $1500).
I played Assignment Ada for quite a while and it would be the best if you, Mike, remove it from the list. Assignment Ada is a RNG hell in every room and if I would do backup strats everywhere, it would be too slow. Assignment Ada is not a good run for a marathon.
Sunblade: Fair enough, I noticed your new record is around 1:37:xx. I think even with marathon safety and the like, 1:50:00 sounds like a good estimate for the run.
Yagamoth: If it's not really used, then I don't think having a bid war is a good idea.
question: will we be able to discuss what $ amount our incentives are set at? last year i didn't discuss the target amount for gimmick best ending and as a result it was set far too low.
cyghfer: Yeah, I'll start setting amounts in December. They are going to be way higher this year than last year because I underestimated every single donation incentive last year. Gimmick wasn't the exception, it was the rule.
I don't know what your opinion is on incentives inside of a bonus game but Controllerhead can whip up a (PG-13 rated) 'Star Song' to sing during Super Mario Land 2 during the space autoscroller. Otherwise it could be noted as part of meeting the donation incentive for the game itself.

But since I'll only be practicing marathon routes up to AGDQ, that means Morris WR during the AGDQ run will technically still be in play. So, ya know, if you want potential WR hype during that run you know who to vote for.
(And then hype is crushed 30 seconds in when i don't get bible drop).

You mean hype is crushed when you choose the wrong character.
Since Bossman hasn't posted anything yet for PD, ill go ahead and suggest the filename. Not sure if there needs to be any additional incentives unless we are short on incentives and want to put a cash goal on perfect agent (though the run will be perfect agent reguardless)
F-Zero GX incentives: The head start objective could work if cgn is willing, but I haven't heard anything from him yet.
Yagamoth: I could add that as a bid war, but I don't feel like it's a compelling bid war, especially since it requires some in-depth explanation.
I like the "Give Deathborn a head start on chapter 8" donation incentive. I have actually tested this, and the absolute limit I can provide would be around 30 seconds. However, to make it safe I think it would be better to push the limit down to 25 seconds.
