My feelings on The Demon Rush
Bassboost: Added file name. If he's going to play perfect dark difficulty anyway, then you might as well.

CGN: Okay, added the Deathborn incentive.

I also added a hand cam incentive for Glover because it was mentioned during Sunday Sequence Break and Heeheex2 thought it was a good idea.
GoldenEye 007:

Cosmo is up for a multiplayer match vs me, maybe others.  We have an hour slotted in for GE, which is plenty, and a 5 minute multiplayer match should easily fit in, be hype as hell, and with Cosmo should be able to take in a huge amount of cash.

I am also up for "celebrity" runs.  People could donate to see XXXXX player play through a level during the GE run.  Players can be whoever are both down and whoever would raise good money.
My feelings on The Demon Rush
RWhiteGoose: I like the idea of a multiplayer match, but I wouldn't go too overboard with the side runs.
Not a fan at all at letting people who don't know how to play the game at top level joining into runs. if we do multi might as well include me and bossman and do 4 player because 1v1 is terribly boring to watch and everyone knows that
My feelings on The Demon Rush
Yeah Bassboost, that's what I meant with the side runs. I think a multiplayer match could work, but I wouldn't go farther than that. I think a 3 or 4-player match is the best because that's how everyone remembers the game.

At first I thought that the SMB3 donation incentive could be entirely focused on the any% bonus run by Mitch, but after thinking about it I feel that it is a big enough game for a second incentive during the actual 100% coop run to bring money.

So anyway what I had in mind (I haven't had the chance to talk about it to Mitch but I'm pretty sure he would be ok with it) was an incentive for the 100% coop run to include the 3 suits (hammer, tanuki & frog) at some point and the kuribo shoe in 5-3. Grabbing those suits in mushroom houses, using them, and using the shoe wouldn't add more than one minute total to the run. And who doesn't love the shoe?

So there would be two things for SMB3:
1/ any% run by Mitch
2/ all suits + shoe in the coop run

What do you think?

Edit: eh, maybe not, see 8 posts down
wibbly wobbly timey wimey
So long as the shoe doesn't crash the NES like it did two years ago (I think it was two years, might have been last year)

It was last year and I don't even know if the crash was related to the shoe at all, considering it works fine pretty much all the time for every smb3 player who uses it :x Maybe Tompa would know a bit more on the question. I think it was anyway a very rare occurrence honestly, nothing to be worried about.

PS1 is immortal
There was recently a huge discovery made in Spyro 3. I think it'd be great to have a donation incentive to show it off. It actually changes any% too (the record went from 59 minutes to 33 in a few days), but that's unimportant, since Totozigemm and I will stick to what was originally planned (which is now referred to as 100 egg). It wouldn't add more than a few minutes to the run estimate adding this incentive. It could be called "Ultimate game breaker" or "biggest skip in the game" or something along those lines.

/edit: thanks, noname ↓ Smiley
Obscure games ftw
Quote from SSBMstuff:

For those who don't know exactly what this is already: a way to skip into the final boss early was discovered and there's 2 methods, a silly way and a ridiculously hard way involving a lot of difficult jumps.  I'm pretty sure the latter would be shown (it's much more impressive to see), and could be done immediately after the race on the same file.  The reason it cuts the time in half is it allows you to skip collecting 70% of the things in levels, though you still have to go through all of them to access the final homeworld to perform the skip.
(I agree that this is an amazing idea for an incentive but should be explained a bit better so people know what they're going for)

I have some ideas for Donation incentives for Jak & Daxter: The Precursor Legacy:
- Bid war between skipping and doing the Gol & Maia's Citadel. The version Bonesaw uses is a Black Label version (eg 1.0) and permits to skip the last level of the game by saving & loading. Other versions have this glitch fixed, and runs that can't do this glitch are categorized as "no Save&Load". It would be interesting to do a war between skipping and doing this last level, and it would stay in the estimate. Also there's some tricks to show off in this last level, so it could be interesting to leave it as a possibility and therefore a bid war.
- Language choice, if possible on NTSC. Ask Bonesaw if it's doable, otherwise don't put it.
My feelings on The Demon Rush
Spyro, that could work as an incentive.

Linkinito: The problem with incentives for Jak and Daxter is that it's the first game. I'd rather not include any incentives for the game.

For Antichamber, I could do a donation incentive for a No ESC run. Adds 2 or 3 minutes (goes from 5-6 to 8-9 minutes) and in my opinion is a better watch. The normal run returns to the hub constantly, which can be hard to follow and basically eliminates one of the game's most important challenges: navigating a non-euclidean space. A few of my friends don't even want the normal run to be an option, but they're biased and nobody cares about them Tongue

I can post videos to show the difference, but the main thing that detracts from standard runs is entering rooms, returning to the hub, then warping back to the same room because you appear a few steps further into the room.

About smb3 and after thinking about it again, disregard the suits + shoe incentive idea. With a coop run it's gonna be a pain to implement (well, the suits at least) as we can't really be sure about who's going to play which stage. We'll most likely grab the shoe regardless.

So yeah, the bonus any% run should be enough I guess.
My feelings on The Demon Rush
Marche: Added No ESC as an incentive. Even though I haven't beat the game I can imagine a no escape run making a lot more sense and being more coherent because you're not always warping back to the hub.

Kirua: Good thing I forgot to add a suits and shoe incentive. Cheesy

WOW.
I know it sounds quite arbitrary, but for THUG2 I can do a bid war for soundtrack choice. The choices are: Punk, Rock, Hip-Hop, and maybe 'all' as well. People have a lot of nostalgia for the soundtracks of the tony hawk games so I think it could be a good idea.
Magical. Flying. Bathtub
Metal Gear Solid: Doesn't look like Slade's posted here yet, but if he's up for preparing a save file then I definitely propose Tuxedo Snake as an incentive (technically this will give him the Stealth and Bandana as well but I'm sure he won't use them in the run Wink ).  I would also suggest a save/kill Meryl bidding war but on Extreme mode with skips I'm not convinced that this is actually possible for a human.
Worthless categories WR master
For Minecraft: Does anyone know if Notch can be contacted? I know he's one of the most generous donator at AGDQ and I was wondering if it would be interesting to have kind of a "developer's view" on the speedrun and how it exploits certain parts of the game? Or was putting Minecraft as a bonus game just a clever way to lure him into donating thousands and thousands?  Grin
For the Portal/Portal 2 Incentives, I think I speak for both Azorae and myself on these:

Portal - Yes, we like having the donation war between Out of Bounds and No OoB.
Portal 2 - We are just doing the coop run, no solo coop. Even as a bonus run it wouldn't be exciting because it's mostly just doing the normal coop routes for each player one at a time.
Donation Choice - Choose who shaves my head.

If it is not me that would be hugely disappointing.

I could ask him if he'd be up for a Skype call or something during the run. It was fantastic to have dev calls during Octodad and SM106% last time, so this could be a neat idea.
My feelings on The Demon Rush
Yeah having Notch for a Skype call for Minecraft would be really cool.
Hey Mike, if it's not too late, it's possible to add a donation war for Bastion to choose between the two endings (restoration vs evacuation). We just rerouted the category this weekend, so we now pick up the item that allows the evacuation ending to be chosen.

Just a quick note -- Even though it's on the first page of this thread, I don't see the "Mario VS Luigi" bid war for Lost Levels...
