I laugh whenever I see that done. "That's TSA for ya..."
As for the run, just watched it last night. I haven't played that game in a LONG time (it used to be my favorite game), but that was a darn good run. For some reason I don't think I watched your previous run top to bottom, only chunks of it. There's the usual human errors, and I'm not sure about your Lanmolas strategy... seems slow, and I feel like you did it faster with the sword, but I'm not sure.
I'm 100% sure that if you'd tried a few more times you could've pulled sub-1:39 at least, but we won't put you through that or you'll be GANNON-BANNED, and it would be the ultimate of irony.
I am trying to help you... Perharps you had already this idea. When i watched your 1h39 run, I didn't use VirtualDub ( it doesn't work, i have to format a day my PC ), just VLC, so time is approximative 0-1-2-3s... I always finished this game with sword l4, so i must have a few errors for sword l2. * are independants tricks
TSA, on your 1h39 run, if you keep the same order of dungeons : Don't take sword l3 -1min26s 0h48min59s to 0h50min25s * When you go out of the house with 300 rupees, you do down/right/down ( or up if you don't take sword l3 ), better to do right/down ( or up if you don't take the sword ), perharps you have to do 1 frame to walk down for to not be blocked by going on the 2 flowers ( left-up and left-down ) in the same time. If you don't take sword l3 you don't take sword l4 -20s 1h21min52s to 1h22min12s * Perharps you put the super bomb too near of the wall, you can perharps skip a few frames. --)-1min46s
Then, if we considerate that your run 1h39 shouldn't be faster when you use sword l3 and l4 :
Dungeon #3 +6s 1s for 2 more hits on the mummy just before the boss #3 Boss #3 : 9 hits with sword l3 so ? hits with sword l2, we'll say +5hits=+5s ( dangerous )
Dungeon #6 +22s At the beginning +8 s for the room where you have to kill all the monsters ? Or less if you use a spell with the 3 sorcerers ? Boss #6 You take 22s to kill the 9 littles eyes with sword l3, so +11s with sword l2 ( approx with -50%power ) and +3s for to 2 more cycles of thunder to miss.
Dungeon #2 +11s In the first room : do you need sword l3 for to kill in one hit these little monsters ( for to have the chest with the key ) ? Boss #2 : 2 parts Part1 : 13 littles thing to kill : 2 hits per thing +7s ( approx ) with the consideration of the moving in circles. Part2 : 2 cycles with sword l3 so +1 cycle with sword l2 =+4s *You believe to use the hammer on the rocks, but perharps it's slower.
Dungeon #5 +11s B3 : first room : use old strat with hookshot +3s Boss #5 :approximation +8s if you can at least a little block them the 3 in the same time like in the 1h39 run.
Dungeon #7 +??s You kill 4x the monster which is jumping and has a few heads in 3 rooms, here we have pratically sword l2=sword l4 ? +?s *First room of B2 : don't use the hookshot ( except with very bad heal ) Boss #7 : Part1 : +3 hits on each head fire/ice, but i don't know if you have the time to use ice and 6 hits then to use fire and 6 hits or if you have to use 2 times ice and fire +??s But you have enough MP with the big bottle just before the boss. Part2 : +3 hits -) +3s ( yes, with perharps luck )
Dungeon #8 +13s We suppose you only use arrow with Mini Boss #2 Mini Boss #3 +1 hit -)+3s ( dangerous ) -4F : Room1 -) perharps use MP ?? if not, arrow against this skeleton then hit a second time the 2 monsters blocked against the wall on the right of the room ( after the first hit ), then the second hit against the monster blocked ( after the first hit ) on the left of the room is very fast -)+2s Room3 -) a second hit on the first monster, then use the 2 rocks on the down of the room -)+3s ( approx, you can have less or more ) Room4 -) 2 more hits +3s ( approx ) Room5 -) +1hit on the monster on the right, then use the rock against the skeleton +2s (approx )
Ganon : +??s 3 parts : fight, earthquake, arrow On the 2 last parts i think sword l2 and sword l4 are the same thing, but on the first part, you can hit Ganon lots of time per cycles so i don't know if all of them are indispensable, if not to have sword l2 doesn't cost time for the final battle, if that's the case i don't know how many cycles+ so +??s
-1min46s for to not take sword l3 and l4 +1min03s for consequence but without considerations for Dungeon 7+Ganon 43s skipped, perharps 30s with Dungeon 7 and if we considerate Ganon doesn't take more time ??
There's a big problem with that strategy: you need to rescue the Smithy's partner in order to buy the Big Bomb, which is needed to complete the game. Ganon cannot be killed without Silver Arrows.
Also, if I'm not mistaken, the L2 sword can only damage Ganon with a spin attack. since you still need to hit Ganon to finish parts 2 and 3, the level 3 sword is preferred.
Get all seven Crystals: when you first start in the Dark World, go to the Palace of Darkness. Get the hammer and leave. Go to Water Palace, get the hookshot, then leave. Go to the Thieves' Town Palace, get the Titan's Mitt and leave. Go to Misery Mire, get the Cane and leave. Finally, go to Turtle Rock and complete the entire thing. When you get out, you will have all seven Crystals.
Its probally useless and illegal, but I fairly sure up+down movement isn't used here and yes I know it was done on an emulator, but could this or a very simalar trick have any use.

I think it could be safely said that the leaves the game boundries rule is not only broken, but destroyed.
i don't think nobody know this, judging from what i saw from the lttp run, but, uuuh, in the skull woods level, (level 3 in the dark world), you can grab that key in a room before going outside, (and before entering that big skull), where there a key in that pot in the upper left corner before the pit iirc. that way... you don't have to waste your time getting the key in the first room of that big skull whatever. thought i give out some pointers.
In a tas, this could knock off close to 20 min, depending on whether or not you need three items after the agahnim battle.
Since he's clearly traveling through walls, that trick would be useless for someone doing a non-travel-through walls TAS. He might as well go ahead and beat the game in less than 4 minutes if he's going to do something like that.
IMO this would go in the full game tas, because it is a glitch that doesn't require you to press Up + Down at the same time (which was done in the 3:48 tas) in order to skip walls.
